Since DBS Broly opened with a prologue that detailed events from 41 years earlier, it’s only natural that the epilogue would take place a few days after the events of the movie.

(EPILOGUE: Welcome To Earth, Broly)

(Goku, Cheelai, Lemo and Broly have arrived on Earth. They have chosen to land outside Capsule Corp so that they can introduce Broly to the rest of the crew. Outside, the gang is doing their usual activities- Bulma is working on a prototype gadget, Vegeta is beating the life out of a punching bag, Beerus and Whis are enjoying a platter full of sweets, Piccolo is meditating, Goten and Trunks are zipping around, Chi Chi is stir frying something tasty, Gohan is reading a book, Krillin is doing stretches, Yamcha, Tien, and Roshi are enjoying food while Roshi peeks at a magazine, baby Pan is snoozing alongside baby Bulla, Majin Buu is destroying a cream puff tower, Hercule is flexing, Shin is sipping tea, Videl is doing yoga, Chiaotzu, Puar, and Oolong are messing with the Pilaf Gang, 18 is chasing after Marron, you get the idea.)

Goku: Yo! How’s everyone doing?

Bulma: It’s going good, Goku!

Gohan: You said you wanted us to meet someone, right, dad?

Goku: Mhm! Everyone, this is Broly! Vegeta and I fought him not too long ago- but I helped him out and we even saved him! He’s super strong! And these are his friends, Cheelai and Lemo!

Beerus: Hm. And why have you brought them here, Goku?

Whis: Is it because they haven’t gotten the chance to see Earth yet?

Goku: How did you know that was what I was gonna say? Anyways, Broly, Cheelai, Lemo- these are my friends and family. And if you’d like… they can be your family, too.

Broly: H-Hi…

Vegeta: Broly?! WHAT ARE YOU STARING AT?! SPEAK UP!!

(At Vegeta’s tone, Broly is startled and falls backward, landing on his tush. His heartbeat’s ringing in his ears, his breathing grows shaky, and sweat runs down his face. He’s having a panic attack without the scene screaming it out.)

Broly: Ah! (He then looks around and sees the hustle and bustle of West City. His panic attack gets worse as the others approach him…) Please… I… I don’t… want… to hurt you! Please!

Cheelai: Everyone! Stop!

(Everyone calms down and then some.)

Cheelai: I know you’re excited to meet him, but…

Lemo: He needs space. He doesn’t do well in unfamiliar places like these. This IS his first time on Earth, too.

Cheelai: It’s ok, Broly. Calm down, take a deep breath… and exhale. There. It’s okay.

Lemo: We’ve got you, big guy. Nobody here is going to hurt you.

Goku: You feeling better? Chi Chi’s got something REALLY GOOD cooking!

Broly: *Nods* I’d… like that.

Goku: Mhm! You’ve GOT to try the homemade tonkotsu ramen, curry rice, AND the dinosaur steaks! Ohh, it’s gonna be so amazing!

(The gang then walks back to Capsule Corp where Chi Chi’s cooking is waiting for them- and with three new allies in tow! Cut to black as soon as everyone heads off to dinner.)

IMO, if I was in charge of the reboot, I’d definitely have it be animated by none other than…

MAPPA.

It would be in the same vein as Dororo.

And this is gonna be much grittier and more faithful to the source material while also acknowledging other adaptations.

The animation? Oh. Oh my god. That’s gonna go H A R D.

And same with the soundtrack. Like, GOOSEBUMPS.

And yes, the PLUTO ARC WILL be adapted.

IMO, I’d have Ochanomizu and Tenma be genuine coworkers like Dr. Light and Dr. Wily, and they have a custody battle over Astro before Ochanomizu takes him in.

And the character designs? Still true to the text. Just… drawn in today’s age.

It’s going to be GENUINELY FUNNY And GENUINELY GOOSEBUMP INDUCING at the same time, and oh my god- the OST is going to go so, so, HARD!!! The OG theme? That’s a recurring leitmotif here!

And the hypothetical dub cast? Luci Christian (My HC choice for the reboot version of Astro) would EAT. So would Ray Chase (Dr. Tenma), Uran (Erica Mendez), Zeno Robinson (Atlas), Peter Lurie (Dr. Ochanomizu), and Chris Sabat (The Narrator).

Alongside Patrick Seitz (Pluto), Brandon McInnis (Epsilon), North No. 2 (J Michael Tatum), Robert McCollum (Gesicht), Matthew Mercer (Blue Knight), Ian Sinclair (Skunk Kusai), Scott McNeil (Hamegg), Chris Whekamp (Tawashi), Kent Williams (Nakamura), etc.

The title of this hypothetical reboot?

Astro Boy: Recharged

And an overarching theme for this reboot is “We can become more than who we were programmed to be”.

IMO, I Headcanon that after the events of “I’ll Miss You Mr. Hooper”, the others IMMEDIATELY got in touch with the rest of Mr. Hooper’s family (His kids and grandkids and whatnot) so that Big Bird could know that he still lived on through them! He even interacts with the kids, for goodness sakes!

Ok. This could’ve actually worked as a follow up!

Aka “Those We Love Never TRULY die As long as we remember them.”

He even gets to meet his grandkids, who have temporarily moved to the neighborhood with their families from across town (To help prepare for Mr. Hooper’s memorial service and to make new friends there)!

In short: “He’s not coming back… but he’s still part of us in the things he gave us and the love he showed us. Always.”

Imagine one of the adults telling one of Mr. Hooper’s grandkids “I’m sorry about your grandpa.”, and them getting a reply of “I know”.

Like, wow. Just wow. The episode would’ve touched on things like Legacy, people who are gone still being around in terms of presence, and the very idea that those we love never truly leave us.

The episode would be titled “Mr. Hooper’s Family”, and we’d get to see some moments with the cast shine as they prepare for a town wide memorial service (The entire cast included) for their good friend, as well as meet his family. And yes, at the end, everyone across the extended cast leaves an offering for him in front of his picture (One of the Hispanic characters leaves Pan De Muerto + places a marigold trail, one of the black characters leads a jazz band playing cheerful music, and one of the Asian characters lights incense for him or leaves a diya lamp, amongst others. Just goes to naturally show how different cultures remember the ones they have lost)- ESPECIALLY Big Bird (Who goes last), who gives him one of his lucky feathers and a flower he picked. It’s more of a celebration of life and less of a somber gathering.

NOBODY is wearing black, that’s for sure.

Gordon: Everyone will be there, Big Bird. And so will Mr. Hooper’s family- they’re moving in today.

Maria: Mhm. As long as we remember Mr. Hooper, we can still feel how much he loved us.

And you know how the episode ends?

The camera lingers on Mr. Hooper’s picture as Big Bird says offscreen while everyone else looks on…

Like, seriously. This is a COMIC CON LEVEL HEADLINER.

Anyways, the animation is shockingly good for a direct to dvd movie (Even with all of the weird facial expressions), the voice actors at least gave it their all, and the soundtrack (Especially Slugworth’s rendition of I Want It Now) is pretty decent.

The negatives, on the other hand, are pretty apparent. The Tom and Jerry characters just feel shoved into the plot rather than coherently being weaved in, the tone is basically all over the place, and the massive amount of wasted potential- just felt like a slap in the face to the original movie’s legacy.

Final Rating: (4/10) (Mediocre)

Cursed Child was all just a nightmare that Harry had on too much butterbeer.

The biggest flaw with the stage production? TOO. MANY. PLOT. HOLES. (How valid is this? So many fans treat it as a non canon dream.)

Overall, I haven’t seen the show itself (Not the biggest broadway person), but from what I can take away, there’s good effects, good acting, phenomenal soundtrack…

The only problem for me is the story. And it’s riddled. With. Plot. Holes.

Overall I’d give the thing a solid 7/10 (Good).

Which means that while it was good, I wouldn’t rush to see it again.

So, instead of Finn and Jake being ABSOLUTELY OOC here and the kissing being ABSOLUTELY obnoxious...

I'd say that in this version of the episode, Finn and Jake help Tree Trunks and Mr Pig get set up on their first date together!

They scout out locations; ask people if it's ok to "Let an elephant and a pig spend a few hours here", etc.

They even cook a fancy meal for the both of them, for goodness sakes!

And the others help out; too. PB decides to set up a dinner spot for the both of them, Marceline composes soft and gentle guitar music for the night, and Cinnamon Bun, being Cinnamon Bun, lends a hand as well, etc.

Even Ice King gets roped into it against his will by making an ice sculpture centerpiece for the table.

And overall, the episode is just all about having love naturally come to you.

And the only time they kiss? Is at the end.

Instead of being obnoxious, it's PAYOFF.

THAT is how you do buildup.

First off, I would keep the episode’s main premise, aka The Happiness Carnival, but remove all of the unnecessary crying that the original one has.

Instead of being depressed, the baddie in the episode, aka the scientist, decides to make everyone in Townsville fight amongst each other instead of constantly making them cry waterfalls.

So, the girls and Utonium get to the carnival, and it is an ABSOLUTE DISASTER. I’m talking people fighting, verbal lashing out going too far, and people getting into fistfights!

Even Princess Morbucks, the girl who LITERALLY put all other kids on the naughty list just so she could be the only one to get the present of superpowers, is concerned. And that’s saying something.

So how do the girls did this sticky situation? They help the townsfolk find common ground, repairing their broken bonds, and that’s where the genuine, non obnoxious tears of joy start flowing in!

All in all, I’d watch this over what we got.
