Others experiences taking low dose Abilify for OCD?

Hi all, I am wondering for those who are comfortable sharing, if anyone would be willing to share whether they have taken low dose Abilify or just Abilify in general for ocd and their experience with it. My doctor has prescribed 1mg which will hopefully be just a short term thing but I am just looking for others experiences with it specifically for OCD/anxiety.

Abestos risk in the materials of my baseboards, adhesive or drywall underneath?

Hi all my home was built in 2003 (the baseboard fell off the wall in my bathroom (a small piece). Just wondering if there is any risk to fixing this myself in terms of the baseboard, adhesive or drywall underneath. I also have some others of the same baseboards that need to be replaced after damage so also wondering the risk there if I did it myself. Thanks so much for any guidance.I live in Canada for reference (CANADA-ON)

How likely is there to be asbestos materials in a home built in 2003 or 2004 (Canada)?

Just wondering if a home built in the early 2000s in Canada (2004 I believe) would have any materials that contain asbestos? I have some damaged baseboards so I thinking of cutting the originals off and replacing them myself but and not sure if baseboards, drywall etc from that time would include asbestos. Thanks for everyone’s help in advance. CANADA-ON

Conflicting professional opinions.. any ideas?

Hey everyone, not looking for medical advice here but more others opinions or experiences in a similar boat. For context I have been dealing with vision issues on and off for about 10 months (blurry vision, light sensitivity, etc). I was diagnosed with chronic migraine also for context. I originally had gone to see my neurologist and asked her about the associations with my symptoms and my diagnosis. She said while the light sensitivity/ pain associated made sense, that my blurred vision/ eye focusing issues lasting weeks at a time would not be because of my migraines. I thought okay fair enough. I have been desperately trying to figure the vision thing out as it has affected my quality of life immensely as well as my ability to work. I got a binocular vision assessment done (I have attached the diagnostic write up for context) and was told I have a few issues there. A few days later I was scheduled back to see my neurologist anyway and I was updating her on the rest of my situation. I told her I had gotten a BVD assessment and that the next steps were to try out some new glasses and then go back in a month and see how much vision therapy I would need (this was the plan from the neuro-optometrist who did the assessment). To my surprise she told me that she wouldn’t recommend spending a ton of money on vision therapy because there is not a lot of scientific evidence to back up how effective it is and that neurologists (which she is) think it’s just a way to get patients to spend more money for little or no return. I’m not going to lie she’s super nice and I know she meant well telling me I should save my money as she knows I have been stressed about that because I am in my mid 20s and haven’t been able to work at times the last few months but I left that appointment feeling very defeated. I had a slight glimmer of hope after this assesment and following the neuro-ops recommendations that my vision would at least partially improve but now I just feel really confused. And yes I know different doctors of different specialities can have different options especially when one focuses on the brain and the other focuses on the connection between the eyes and the brain but as a young individual who has tried so many different avenues to try and fix this issue it’s just quite overwhelming and I have no idea who to “believe”. I know there is not a perfect answer here probably, just a young person who wants the best outcome but doesn’t have unlimited funds to figure it out. I guess my question is if anyone has had similar diagnoses to me.. did vision therapy genuinely help your vision? Thanks everyone for listening and for sharing if you can.

Wondering if I am experiencing MGD as a potential contributor to blurry vision?

Hello, everyone. Wondering if anyone could help me with some insight here. I have had blurry vision that lasts for weeks/months at a time and gets slightly better for about 9 months. I have a bunch of issues such as migraine, some binocular vision things I am getting corrected, etc. I think my issues are quite complex. However, I am wondering if one thing is contributing more than I thought it was. I went to the optometrist and she told me I had dry eyes and she kind of left it at that. Throughout the last few weeks I have noticed white dandruff like specs on my lash line, small red lumps right under my lashes (can’t even really be seen unless I life up my bottom lashes because they are quite long), my eyes will get itchy, etc. The worst part is when I work on my computer it feels like my eyes have some sort of smeared film in front of them after a period of time. I try to blink and do the usual 20/20/20 stuff and it doesn’t help much. Again I think my issue is more complex that just dry eyes however in hopes of trying to keep my job and my sanity I am searching on all avenues. I have tried 4 different types of eyes drops and I eventually stopped because they all made my eyes feel more irritated and itchy and would last for hours. Tbh I stopped using them for a while. I also noticed they did not help much with the clarity of my vision. I have noticed throughout the last few weeks I wake up and along with the white specs in my lashes my lash line is midly swollen and this morning I woke up with some white crusty substance on the exterior of my eyes (pictured). I am wondering I if I don’t just have “dry eyes” and need to use eye drops 1-2 times a day or if I have MGD or something more severe that I can investigate further. Im honestly desperate trying to figure this out. Any help or information is greatly appreciated.

Edit: also for context I have heard there may be a possible correlation. I have had what people have told me is “rosacea” on my cheeks all my life. My cheeks are always red no matter what and get worse when it’s cold or really hot etc. I have never been “diagnosed” because it ever really bothered me but I’m pretty sure I do have it, in case that matters.

Poshmark asking for my SIN number now after a sale?

For context I have been a seller on Poshmark for over 6 years. I just made my first sale in maybe a week and a half and I went to look and they are asking for “legal details” which includes all my previous information and now are asking for my SIN number? I have never seen this before. (I have over 1000 sales). Anyone else know if this is legit and why they are asking?

Edit: If it is legit I don’t really mind. I already report my earnings to the CRA every year when I file my taxes anyway. Just want to make sure it is not a scam and as a safety measure.

Wondering what others in my situation would do? Looking for any and all opinions.

For context I had been working full time for years, 40 hours a week prior. About 9 months ago I started experiencing some symptoms that left me off work for about a month. Things had seemed to get better and I slowly went back starting a few hours a day and getting back up to around 7 hours a week. Until about 7 weeks ago the main symptoms came back (severe vision issues) and I had to go back on a leave from work. I could barely care for myself at that point. Over that 7 week period my vision started to improve again - all my specialists are still not sure the exact cause as I have had every diagnostic done under the sun it feels like. My work has been amazing, they have done everything we’ve been able to think of as far as accommodations, shorter days, breaks, etc. I have been able to go back again for a few hours a day, doing my work but I can’t help but think of the implications of this happening again and again. I do think my doctors and I are working towards a good path trying to figure out the issue but I also want to think in a realist sense and not necessarily an idealist sense. It’s hard because a lot of people say “be positive and keep up hope” and I for sure am but I also feel like I need to think of both the good and bad possible scenarios here. The good being my health improves and I continue to thrive in my job (which would honestly just be the greatest gift of my entire life at that point) but the bad being eventually I couldn’t keep up and I would have to stop working. And in that scenario I am not sure my options financially to keep myself afloat. (I live in Ontario). I am in my mid-20s so I don’t have as much life experience as a lot of people on here so my question is if you needed to “prepare” in your head for next steps in case something like that were to happen what would you do? Thank you for anyone willing to share their thoughts. I greatly appreciate it.

EDIT: I currently don’t have any debt and have around 40k saved.

Received a BVD assesment and was given a different treatment than I expected. Thoughts?

Hello everyone. I am new here and new to the bvd world. I had done a bunch of research and decided to schedule a binocular vision assessment a few months ago. I scheduled my appointment then and had the actual appointment, just a few days ago. From the research I did I was expecting him to prescribe prism glasses or extensive vision therapy. After my assessment he told me he was going to give me a new prescription for my regular full time wear glasses (not prism) and actually lessen my prescription? He said that he thinks I have some bvd issue and that my eyes are constantly over worked (my issues are blurry vision up close and mostly on the computer when working) so he hopes this will allow my eyes to be able to relax more. He said once I get the glasses that I should come back in a month to see how well those are working. He said I will for sure need vision therapy he is just not sure how much yet. It was nice because I felt like it was genuine as he wasn’t trying to over sell the therapy but with my research I guess it felt mild as in just a prescription change for these issues but then again what do I know. Just curious if anyone had had a similar experience :)

Has anyone ever experienced issues with titrating acetazolamide too quickly?

Hello everyone,

I am wondering if anyone has experienced any issues with titrating acetazolamide too quickly. For reference I took it for years with no issues. Then I went through a period where I unintentionally was not taking it regularly. When I finally pulled my socks up I realized my body had lost tolerance. I increased from 0 to 1000mg increasing by 250mg every 2-3 days for a total of like a week and a half which I realize is crazy fast. When I orinally started taking the medication I believe it was weeks in between. My vision got very blurry a few days later for a while after. I am just wondering if anyone else has a similar experience. And no I won’t ever be doing that again :)

What are people who get eye side effects from anxiety medication supposed to do?

I’m at such a loss. I have had multiple anxiety medications cause me blurry vision/ accommodation issues so much that I cannot work or drive. What is one supposed to do if they can’t take these medications and function but also have such bad anxiety that can’t function? I just continue to cry because I have been told there aren’t other options.

Has anyone had vision issues on Prozac (fluoxetine) that they didn’t have on Zoloft (setraline)?

Looking for some experiences or advice here. I know this may be a niche question/topic but I thought it wouldnt hurt to ask. I started taking fluoxetine (10mg) for a few months and started to get very blurry vision/ had trouble focusing up close. I had to take a leave from work it was so bad. I stopped taking it and within 6 weeks while I have been off work my vision has gotten a lot better. Now with that being said my anxiety/ocd/panic have come back tenfold. My question is if anyone has ever taken fluoxetine and had vision problems if that also happened to them taking setraline or it didn’t? My doctor says every medication is different even if they all list that as a side effect. I just wanted to see if anyone had a better outcome vision wise with setraline than fluoxetine. Thanks so much.

Alternatives to SSRIs for blurry vision?

Hey all, I am wondering if anyone who has gotten blurry vision or focusing issues from taking SSRIs has found an alternative medication that has given them the anxiety/ocd relief they need without getting vision issues and without limiting their life. I was told I need to go back on an SSRI which literally caused me to have vision so bad I couldn’t work, drive, shower, do dishes.. literally anything. Since I have stopped taking the medication my eyes are getting better but I have all the anxiety again. My psychiatrist says there are no other options and I have to believe that is not true. Please please if you are in a similar situation and have found something that has been okay for your eyes/ brain wye connection please let me know. I am having panic attacks daily because I feel like there is no way out and I have to now choose between my vision or anxiety.

Poshmark cancellation percent is -3?

Hello, I am wondering if anyone else has experienced anything similar here. I guess Poshmark Canada made changes and new shipping rules in the new year but I have had a ton of health issues the last 8 months and I did not know (been selling since 2020). Furthermore, because I have been sick I managed to rack up a 9% seller cancellation which I later found out was not good and had to be under 3% I believe. I had to cancel a few orders due to fluctuating symptoms and being unable to ship going to hospital etc. and also when buyers requested cancellation I didn’t mark it as buyer requested because I had no idea it mattered. Anyways, i cancelled an order back in April to which I got an email that my account was restricted for 24 hours and they explained these new rules. At that point I eventually got my account back and was told it was a warning and next time my account would basically be deleted. Ever since I have been very careful, used vacation holds when needed and have not had a cancellation since. When my account was restricted my cancellation percentage was at 9% .. oddly enough when I started getting new orders (again no cancellations after and no cases either) my cancellation percentage started going up? It went to like 13% at one point even though I had made no cancellations like I said. Eventually I stopped looking at it but I looked today and it is now at -3%? I still have not had any cancellations or cases now but I am wondering what this negative number means in terms of this? Was just curious if anyone knew.

Supplements for OCD and/or anxiety in general?

Hello everyone. I am wondering if anyone here has any insight on supplements to take for anxiety and ocd. I had to stop taking antidepressants due to them causing my other health conditions to get worse so I am hoping I can find supplements that will somewhat help.
I am not expecting miracles but I am hoping there is a supplement or a few together that can help with my general worries and rumination. Any experiences, advice or resources given are greatly appreciated 🫶

Dry water marks under my window in bedroom. Should I be concerned?

I am wondering if I should be concerned about this staining underneath my window. It’s all across the underneath but this is the worst of it. It is dry to touch. I am wondering if it is from spraying down my window ledges and cleaning them or water intrusion from outside. Any advice or thoughts are appreciated!
