What should I say to her?

One night at an internal work event, me and an another female coworker I don’t particularly get along with were drinking red wine and kept making increasingly sassy comments at each other.

It was all fairly playful until one of us made a comment about the other’s outfit, which suddenly made the tension shoot up 😂. Then another comment was made about being a “sassy heavyweight”, and somehow the conversation escalated into people genuinely debating who would actually win if the two of us ever got into a fight. 🥊

Definitely not the sort of workplace discussion I expected but I am worried to see what it’s going to be like in the office next week when I see her

Should I reach out to her after our fight?

Context myself (30 F) and this other single mom (29 F) are in the same mom group have always shared the same mutual friendship group, which means we’re constantly in the same spaces everyone has always compares us — our size, our attitude, our sass — . It’s created this tension where every little comment is passive aggressive . Over time it’s just built up into this passive-aggressive rivalry where we’re polite on the surface, but there’s always that underlying tension.

One time recently we were split into two teams at a party and we were all doing team challenges ranging from verbal, drinking all the way to physical and when it came to the physical challenge, everyone picked me and her to go against each other to see who the “champ” was in like a fun way 🥊💪🏽. It was hyped like a title fight and it got physical.

We have not spoken since and don’t know if I should break the ice with her

30 F - Need a holiday again

NO NSFW CHATS!

I got back from holiday over the weekend and was off work yesterday and now thankful I am WFH, which is absolutely needed after the week I’ve had. What was meant to be a relaxing break ended up getting a bit dramatic thanks to another couple we were with. It was myself, my partner, his mate and his gf who I did not get along with.

Without going into all the details, there were a few arguments, awkward moments and plenty of tension that definitely wasn’t on the itinerary 😂

Honestly, I think I need a holiday to recover from this holiday not with her!

30 F - Anyone else go on holiday and have holiday dramas

Just got back from holiday and thankfully I’m off work today, which is absolutely needed after the week I’ve had. What was meant to be a relaxing break ended up getting a bit dramatic thanks to another couple we were with.

Without going into all the details, there were a few arguments, awkward moments and plenty of tension that definitely wasn’t on the itinerary 😂

So today’s plan is simple: no alarm, no work, no responsibilities. Just recovering from the holiday, getting my head straight and pretending the drama never happened.

Honestly, I think I need a holiday to recover from this holiday.

30 F - Years of War for this

Me and this girl have always been in the same friendship group, so crossing paths has never been optional. The problem? Everyone’s been obsessed with comparing us since day one. Same build, same confidence, same mouth, same energy—it was always, “Who’s funnier?”, “Who’s stronger?”, “Who’s got more attitude?” Like… can we breathe? 😂

After hearing it for so long, it naturally turned into this silent cold war. Nothing was ever said outright, but every comment came with a little shade, every compliment felt backhanded, and every interaction had that “I know what you’re doing” energy. We’d smile, be polite, and keep it moving… but the tension was definitely doing laps around the room.

Fast forward to this party, where everyone split into two teams for a series of challenges—brain games, drinking games, then physical ones. The second the physical challenge got announced, the crowd didn’t even need to think. Every single person pointed at me and her like they’d been waiting months for this moment. Suddenly it wasn’t just another game—it was being treated like the heavyweight main event. People were hyping it up, placing fake bets, announcing us like we were about to headline a pay-per-view. 🥊💪🏽

And just like that… the rivalry everyone had been talking about was finally about to be settled in the ring 🫣
