I have a MacBook Air and Xbox series s. I don’t feel the need to upgrade anything right now but I am wondering if the Helix ships as a Windows PC, how open will the OS be like will it be a regular version of windows 11 or maybe similar to the Xbox mode on the Ally? How would you feel about purchasing an Xbox prebuild? As a casual gamer that missed out a lot of when growing up I appreciate what the series consoles offers given the backwards compatibility and (what used to be) value with gamepass, I got to experience many great titles that were otherwise impossible to access. Now looking forwards In a year or two I’ll probably want to retire both my laptop and Xbox as they start to show their age, I’m hoping MS don’t fumble this as I’d love to upgrade two devices with just one purchase! Are you gona consider the Helix when it’s announced? And for what reasons?
Just played 10 matches to get a feel, imo it’s very smooth and responsive with a controller👍 decent variety of modes and maps for its current beta release.
Some opinions and feedback I have:
- Xbox players just turn off cross play and take it easy. There are still KBM players on so you’re not always gona get the input matchmaking you desire.
- In game menu gig tracker / mission bookmark
- Queue times were always under 2mins for me with zero lag or noticeable delay/stutters or hitreg issues (NA East)
- More details on death + kill count (Gun info, level, attachments)
- 120fps toggle makes a huge difference🔥 really wish there was an uncapped or no limit option for those with more capable gaming monitors🙏
- a momentum bar… or any kind of speedometer would be cool. Maybe something simple like a tiny line that changes colors or length the closer you get to max speed (just not big enough that it adds any visual clutter)
-platforming or parkour maps/mode?
-more customizable mech
-free for all
For the price of a Big Mac 👍 not bad. It’s fun BO3 vibes, without the seriousness and polish of a AAA title. I solo queued but imagine this would be even better with friends in squad
Looks fun, anyone on their Xbox hook up their mouse n keyboard to test it out? Appreciate the feedback
Hello. Looking for a switch lite but afraid of drift, wondering if possibly anyone knows or has history purchasing and could recommend any modded sellers online or on eBay for a switch lite with upgraded sticks.
FH5 looks good & so does Resident Evil... Indiana Jones is fine but like most titles it suffers from some soft textures & low quality presets that kinda kill the vibe & atmosphere of the game. What do you recc? I play on 1440 with VRR enabled & HDR turned OFF. Bonus if KBM supports
I had a 2019 MBP for 7 years. Gave it away in march to a relative who’s an aspiring graphic designer. I don’t use laptops for intensive tasks anymore like I did in college, that’s what the mini is for now. Little did I know how much I’d miss using a laptop in bed & on the couch. Since I know I’m mostly gona be browsing and streaming on this, it was a no brainer for $600🔥 Also the screen sharing feature… if you have a WIFI 6 connection it feels native 👌
So WMM has dropped on GP and to me at first it looked abit ugly but after changing some in game settings and tinkering abit with my monitors display profile it’s looking a lot cleaner now.
Turn off 4k
DISABLE HDR
The game plays alot smoother with less tearing since I enabled 1440p VRR. If you have a monitor that features overdrive or accelerator this will also greatly help you. The motion reduction toggle helps and there are also preset filters AND an entire custom filter if you really want to. Imo if you don’t have a gaming monitor and can’t control much of your settings this will help a lot of ppl playing on TVs or big screens. I attached screenshots of intense, vivid, warm. Id say the overall picture looks a tiny bit sharper on vivid and makes up a little for saturation, my favorite rn is probably warm as it makes the game look like a samurai movie
Is > half the replies I get from my stupid “coach”. Ask it what time to drink my coffee, if I should take a nap, if shawarma is healthier than kofta… always censoring itself after thinking of a response. Worst part is it answers it then some type of safety censor overrides the answer. Lame asf and it’s really annoying me to the point where I might return the band. Half the marketing was about the AI, yet it mostly fails to hold most conversations and censors itself after most of my questions 🙃
Edit: this started happening a lot more after linking my medical records and lab results through my app, maybe now it has to be extra cautious or something?
It’s like nobody here understands the right of way 😓
Curious as to what goes to the publisher's side from the user account. Asking this because I have a habit to add free games from giveaways that I never open or download and they're just gona be there forever... Do they get any data about your machines or just the steam account?
Thinking maybe mctominay but im salty cuz i sold him for 500k couple weeks ago😭
Been a console player my whole life (PS growing up, and currently an Xbox Series S that I’m honestly getting a bit sick of). I don't have a laptop rn- my last one was an i9 MacBook Pro from 2019 that I just sold. For my daily computing, I have a Mac mini, so this new laptop will be just for gaming. I can’t get a PC cause of space limitations and future travels.
• Budget: $1,250 max.
• Use Case: It will stay plugged in 99% of the time, sitting on a cooling pad, and hooked up to my 1440p Aorus monitor.
• Games: Mostly looking to play AAA single-player games like God of War, The Last of Us Part 1, and Red Dead Redemption 2 on the best possible settings… all while waiting for GTA 6.
• Longevity: I want this machine to easily last 5+ years. I’m not the type to buy tech and replace it quickly, I like my stuff to last.
• Brand Preferences: I don't know much about specific laptop manufacturers, but from what I've seen online, I'm leaning toward avoiding MSI and Acer.
My dilemma
I wana target 1440p, so I was hoping for a 5070, but struggling to find anything strong at $1250 rn. Considering going lower to a 5050/60 for now, but I’m worried it won't hold up for 5 years.
But the real issue is GTA 6. Since the PC port will probably drop way later than console, if I blow my budget on a laptop now, I won't even be able to play it at launch. I don’t wana experience GTA 6 on my current Xbox.
Should I wait for the summer sales and hope a 5070 laptop drops to my price range, or should I just scrap the idea entirely and wait for whatever next-gen Xbox or PS is out when GTA drops?
