What is a good Pipeline for a realistic Worldgen? Im not happy with mine right now and since im wether an expert nor have had any feedback on my current progress, what do you think of this? Is there a proper way to go about things?

The Goal is for a realistic World mostly in the form of a continent or big Island/s.

  1. World Seed + Settings

  2. Plate Graph / Macro Regions

  3. Plate Motion + Boundary Classification

  4. Uplift / Subsidence / Fault Maps

  5. Base Heightmap:
    - continents
    - ocean basins
    - shelves
    - mountain chains
    - rifts
    - basins

  6. Rock / Soil / Erodibility Map

  7. First Climate Pass:
    - temperature
    - precipitation
    - wind
    - rain shadow
    - evaporation
    - snowline

  8. Initial Hydrology:
    - depression handling
    - flow direction
    - flow accumulation
    - basins
    - first river candidates
    - lake candidates

  9. Erosion Loop:
    repeat 2–8 times:
    flow accumulation
    fluvial incision
    sediment transport
    deposition
    thermal erosion
    optional glacial erosion

  10. Recalculate Final Hydrology:
    - rivers
    - lakes
    - wetlands
    - deltas
    - waterfalls/rapids
    - floodplains

  11. Detail Terrain:
    - ridge detail
    - ravines
    - local noise
    - cliffs
    - river meanders
    - beaches
    - scree
    - caves optional

  12. Biomes:
    - temperature
    - precipitation
    - height
    - soil
    - drainage
    - distance to coast
    - river/lake proximity

  13. Gameplay Layer:
    - resources
    - settlement candidates
    - road passes
    - river ports
    - trade chokepoints
    - danger/civilization score

I heard the fitbit air Band fits with other watches? Does anyone already use it that way and does a list exist?

I was wondering about getting the fitbit air (without the subscription) and found it interesting to combine with an watch. Maybe someone already has experience with this :)

Is Opus 4.6 even worth it in AG? Will AG see newer Models like at least 4.7/4.8 which are huge improvements, or is this just something i should forget about?

So where am i going with this? Will AG get the "newer" Models from Claude or will we just have to hope for Google to make better Modells, give higher quot4s and build a reliable base?

The Claude 4.6 quot4, both Opus and Sonnet, is abysmal and for me it perfoms worse than 3.5 High or Medium in at least 90% of the time. Its not that i want 4.6 removed, because quot4s are small as is and its not like its an horrendous Model, i just question its benefit to both Google and its userbase.

But im really looking forward to 3.5pro and maybe even the Code Model if i understood the "leaks" correctly.

The quot4 topic: i have a paid plan but not the high end tier, so i get that its small, but even if i had it, why would i use it/why would i use that much money to use 4.6 and not something better or somewhere you get even better quot4s for it, like Claude directly.

Ist die Türkei bis jetzt die Enttäuschung des Turniers?

Ich war sicherlich nicht der einzige der die Türkei somewhat gerated hatte, aber die spielen ja so viel schlechteren Fußball als in der Quali

Pretty nooby question

Everytime i get killed and switch to the deathcam, sounds and especially footsteps get 10x louder and clearer. When im alive though, it sounds really muddy and you cant make out the Position.

Is this a Bug or am i imagining things?

Is Xiaomi an unexpected AI Winner?

Their *newest* Modell competes with the big names(not saying it is as good as claude), while having by far the lowest $/Token cost. Its the best open weight Modell (at least after Benchmarks).

This all happend after their FIRST YEAR in the AI race.

With them having such a huge customer base in asia, africa, south america and now even more appreciation in the West, i think its fair to say they have more than enough customers to cater to.

What does this mean? Driver issue or gpu soon to be dead?

This sometimes happens and is gone after a PC restart. The screen gets Black, it is still responsive but you cant get the screen back. It can happen on both Screens, only one at a time or even like this where i can randomly drag it. (This time i could drag it by my Chrome Window, it happend while a Youtube Video was playing.)

My question/s:

- what causes this?

- driver or gpu issue?

- should i refund my gpu if necessary?

- is there a quick fix?

Edit: Btw i have a 9070XT and the warranty runs put in a week

Wallpaper engine can have a massive hit on the GPUs power consumption. over 100W difference...

While looking into my PCs power consumption (idle and under usage), i noticed that wallpaper engine can cause extreme power consumption, based on the wallpaper used. Im not talking about GPU or CPU performance or performance usage (it still only uses only ~0,5% of the GPU), but purely the power draw. Even a "simple" 4MB wallpaper can cause a powerdraw of over 100watts. Then again, a 400MB wallpaper, only uses/causes the usage of 15watts. Im using hwinfo to test and measure the power draw. I have a 9070XT and have 2 Monitors, one 1080p 120fps vertical and one horizontal 1440p 170fps.

I will give you the example of 5 tests to give you an example (all include the same background usage - the wallpapers are just some of my favourited ones, i didnt go looking for the most un/optimized in the store). I let every Test run for 5 minutes, so the avg is the number to look at:

  1. no wallpaper engine wallpapers with background usage.

Result: Max=51W Avg=45W Min=37W

  1. two "low" usage wallpapers with background usage. wallpapers used: "A lonely fisherman" 3MB and "Noire Night" 37MB.

Results: Max=76W Avg=73W Min=70W

  1. one "high" usage wallpaper with background usage. wallpapers used: "Ghost of Tsushima: Hallucination World" 31MB and "Noire Night" 37MB.

Results: Max=158W Avg=150W Min=139W

  1. one (different) "high" usage wallpaper with background usage. wallpapers used: "Monkey D.Luffy [The Edge of the Forest] - One Piece [4K]" 20MB and "Noire Night" 37MB.

Results: Max=169W Avg=163W Min=157W

  1. two "high" usage wallpapers with background usage combined. wallpapers used: "Ghost of Tsushima: Hallucination World" 31MB and "Monkey D.Luffy [The Edge of the Forest] - One Piece [4K]" 20MB.

Results: Max=187W Avg=167W Min=163W

(other low usage i tested and came to the same conclusion: "ramen shop" 30MB, "Portrait B&W Firewatch (the lowest usage out of pretty much everyone, probably because its a "scene" and not "video" but i cant confirm that) - there was a lot of the high usage wallpapers , so yeah, wont include extra ones of them. There were also high usage wallpapers that resulted in a higher Watt usage.)

So why did i do this? I guess for 3 reasons.

  1. Does anyone know why this is the Case and how can I reduce the power consumption overall - if possible?

  2. Make everyone aware (i guess i was not the only one that didnt know=?) of high power consumption based on the wallpapers you choose, even if it doesnt use your gpu/cpu for more than 0,5% (via task manager).

  3. Did i make something wrong / is this something only on my end?
