I loved Marcus in the reboot (S10)! I wish they'd done more with him & Grace. They had such good chemistry and he was so funny. I think we only see him interact with Will & Karen, but I think he would have been a great long-term addition to the show. Two episodes (S10E18 & S11E02) were not enough!
Plus, Reid Scott is so hot! 🔥

They all do a great job in this scene. Just the 2nd episode of the series so its when you really got a look at who this family was. Anyone have some other favorite moments with the whole family together like this?
These are three series that I'm passing down to my cousin!
I really wanted them to experience some good, solid & funny TV shows. Ones where they could see themselves and be highly entertained. These are some of my favorites and the first batch of my TV heirlooms. LOL
Kenan & Kel (1996-2001) - Their favorite of the bunch. We laughed the entire time and it was good to see K&K again! 🥰
Doug (1996-1999) - Soothing. I would put this on before we'd lay down and it was lights out! 😂
Smart Guy (1997-1999) - We didn't get too much into this one, but I think they'll warm up to it after a few more episodes.

Marcus Bell is such a gorgeous man! 😍🔥
He really is one of my favorite television characters. I love how easily he fit into group dynamic even after I'd fallen in love with the Watson-Sherlock-Gregson trifecta. Marcus really added something unique. I love all of his scenes and wish he'd had more. I wanted to know more about him.
But even without those extra bits, he was still a compelling and likable character. And his growth from the beginning of the series to the end... chef's kiss!
Also, Jon Michael Hill did an amazing job. He really took the character and helped create a character I'm lowkey obsessed with.

Premise
>> Maggie's best (girl) friends, Savvy (from Savvy Sheldon Feels Good as Hell) & Joanie are getting married in a joint wedding ceremony in Thailand. Savvy and Joanie both want Maggie to find someone to bring to the wedding, so that she's not alone and so that she's happy.
They encourage Maggie to get on a dating app and along with her male best friend, Garrett, Maggie starts swiping on the website. When she does go on dates, Garrett is also there to protect her from the weirdos.
At the gym one day, Maggie meets Blake who seems to have the entire package. And it continues from there. LOL
Second 🚨 for spoilers:
Sigh, Maggie was so damn annoying. Like... aggy as shit! Ain't no way in 20 years you didn't know that your best friend wasn't in love with you. Especially since y'all had shared a kiss and decided to not pursue anything because of his former roommate. And then when Garrett, Maggie's other best friends, their significant others, her dad, his mom and someone else's mom (that's 8 people) told her that the man was still in love with her and had been since they were in college, this woman goes: "Really?" 🤣😭 A very unserious being.
This wasn't really a love triangle because you were set to root for the bestie, Garrett, from the jump. And when she slept with Blake, the sex was wack. Like, where do you go from there?
Then there was the "fight" scene. Garrett stopped by to get something from Maggie's house (she knew he was supposed to be there [he had a key!] but forgot. Blake drops her off after a mid date. He's trying to finesse his way in and she's like "naur" and turning him down and he grabbed her and is begging and then it's like... 👀 What happened to "no means no". So, Garrett comes out and tells him to get to steppin'. They have words. Blake punches him and SOMEHOW Maggie 1. still thinks she has to decided between the two men and 2. thinks they're both at fault. 📿
Let me just...
"Listen, dude, just go," Garrett repeated, his expression stony.
"I know what I want, and I'm not going anywhere until she tells me I need to go."
"Blake...please," she started.
MIND YOU, after that, that nigga is still there, chatting and being vile! 😂
And later, when she's retelling the story to her friends, no one outright says that Blake is a bitch that needs to be deleted from her life--they keep calling him a "great guy". I was HOT!
I didn't really like any of the minor/side characters. LOL Maybe Spencer (Savvy's husband) because he didn't talk too much.
@ the writing: The sex scenes with Garrett were decent, but the author kept using "posterior" when the sex scenes were happening. And I did NOT like the characters enough for "good girl" to work for me. LOL
The Positives
There were some moments that were decent in the beginning, but I've since forgotten what they were.
Um, Garrett was a man! Loved him. I WONT him! 🫴🏾

Useni Eugene Perkins originally created this poem in the 1970s. And since then it has been credited to other poets (Maya Angelou, Countee Cullen) even though this style doesn't really fit theirs.
In 2017, Perkins published a children's book illustrated by Bryan Collier.

I'd never heard of this author before yesterday. Then, I did some digging because I need to KNOW if the books about Black History that I want to read or might recommend are Black-authored.
Then, I was at a museum and saw another of her books. Was scrolling on Reddit and saw [a post] (https://www.reddit.com/r/BlackGirlBookClub/s/UoEh3GXCn8) with another book!
That said, the name "Belinda Hurmence" is literally following me. 🤣🤣 She's really a white woman named "[Billie Hurmence (Watson)](https://www.legacy.com/us/obituaries/legacyremembers/billie-hurmence-obituary?id=57104899)" who made her name more "Black" so that she could write for Black children. It was Blackface at its finest with a splash of white savior complex. As if we didn't have Black authors of our own.
Billie was also granted access to thousands of slave narratives and wrote books about them under that "Black" name. And I hate when white people get to explore our history more than we ever get a chance to.

I'm reading Jane Igharo's Where We End & Begin and it's tagged as a "second chance" and now I'm pissed. 😂 The last time they saw each other was 12 years ago--in secondary school/high school!
I hate "second chance romance" where they were just kids. That doesn't get to the heart of a second chance for me. It reminds me of "enemies to lovers" and them being "enemies" is because he looked at her the wrong way during a meeting. Like, stop it!
But Where We End & Begin is decent, but I just find them both aggy, honestly. Maybe that will change.
I prefer a second chance like When Forty Blooms by Jacinta Howard because she'd lived two different lives (with the husband and without him, a career, kids...) before giving them another shot.

I love in *Just Wright* when Leslie and Scott meet at the gas station and she realizes who he is and helps him out. I love the innocence of it all. 🥹
Or in *Hitch* when Alex and Sara meet at the bar and he "rescues" her from a creep. He's so smooth and leaves her wanting more, I love it. 🔥
*Deliver Us from Eva*'s is different since it was a setup *for* a setup. But Eva is impressed with him because he can tolerate her spicy beans. It's so damn funny watching the other characters watch them. 🤣

I really enjoyed the show—loved it, actually—but #8 of all-time is something! 🤣😭 I'll have to do some research.
