Listen to Yung Lean's new version of Robyn's 2005 track 'Robotboy'

"I just craved hearing his interpretation of this sad song," Robyn said of the new release.

Tom here from u/ResidentAdvisor and this song was published today, August 12th, through Young. The new version trades in the energetic dance-pop of the original for the kind of sparse melancholia for which the Sad Boys Entertainment cofounder is known for.

"I asked Jonatan if he wanted to record his version of 'Robotboy' because I just craved hearing his interpretation of this sad song," Robyn said. "I think it was made for you J, the lyrics turn to gold in your version, like you're singing this lullaby to a previous version of yourself."

The original featured on Robyn's self-titled debut album. She released her ninth album, Sexistential, in March. The new version is Yung Lean's first release since April's STORM.

Tiësto on what it takes to be one of the world's biggest DJs

Tiësto has been one of the biggest DJs in the world for the better part of 30 years. Since the '90s, the Dutch artist has been part of an elite inner circle who dominate major festival bills, residencies in Ibiza and Las Vegas, and command some of the most astronomical fees in the industry. Even if he isn't part of your regular listening diet, you've almost certainly heard his music on the radio or pouring out of bars and clubs around the world.

It's easy to forget, though, that he made his name in trance—a genre he publicly walked away from more than a decade ago, saying he'd done what he wanted with it and wouldn't be going back. As of this summer, he's finally changed his mind, announcing his return with a set at Silverworks Island in London.

In this Exchange, he talks about being inspired by the new wave of trance DJs and the artists putting a modern twist on the genre. He also reflects on the years before Tiësto was Tiësto: cleaning club bathrooms, selling records to Jeff Mills as a young store clerk, producing gabber under a secret alias and being inspired to take up DJing after seeing Sven Väth play live.

New York lawmakers trying to reverse ban on LGBTQIA+ bathhouses

Tom here from u/ResidentAdvisor

The state of New York is considering ending a decades-old ban on gay bathhouses.

An amendment to update health regulations was introduced in the New York State Senate on Monday, August 3rd. The bill, named the Public Health Modernisation Act, seeks to create new regulations for the licensing and operation of adult bathhouses, which were banned in 1985 due to the AIDS epidemic.

Proposed by State Senator Erik Bottcher and assembly member Tony Simone, the bill cites declining HIV infection rates and advancements in testing and treatment as reasons to revisit the ban.

"That provision was put into effect at the height of [the] AIDS panic in 1985 and those kind of emergency measures are not supposed to become permanent public health policy," Bottcher told Gothamist. "The landscape around HIV and AIDS science has changed. Treatment has changed. Prevention has changed. Our laws need to change, too."
