We are a volunteer network dedicated to helping at-risk dogs. We are not affiliated with BARC. We connect at-risk animals at the BARC shelter with the adopters, fosters, and rescue organizations needed to save their lives. 📝 Shelter Notes:

8/3/2026: Puppy was being food aggressive, needs to be separated when feeding.

8/8/2026: Approaching kennel, Victor and his sibling retreated to the other side of the kennel, tail tucked, whale eyes, ears back, lip licked, timid and tense. During AM cleaning they vocalized at a few other dogs passing. Passing kennel, he was resting on his bed with his sibling.

8/9/2026: Quiet in kennel during AM cleaning. Lays with sibling and plays with enrichment throughout day.

8/12/2026: Mr Victor is the more timid of the two sibling that are house together, he will go to the other side to avoid interaction. I went to to pet his is band he started to shake and would move his head away so i would not touch him. I was went slow and used baby talk and treats to help him relax.

8/17/2026: Victor greeted me with a low posture and avoided me picking them up at first then stiffened when I did and curled up quietly in the temp kennel while their kennel was being cleaned. Passing kennel, he was resting on his bed.

🚑 Medical Notes:

7/26/2026: Weighed 14.4 lbs. Normal exam. Vaccinated with Rabies, DA2PP-V, and Bordetella, dewormed, and given flea prevention.

8/4/2026: Clear nasal discharge and sneezing. Assessed with CIRDC. Moved to treatment and prescribed Doxycycline 50 mg SID for 10 days.

8/5/2026: Monitor puppy for lethargy and not eating/drinking. Clear nasal discharge and sneezing. Assessed with CIRDC. Continue Doxycycline 50 mg SID for 10 days.

8/11/2026: On tech evaluation for loose stool. No loose stool observed this morning. Due for follow-up dewormer. Will dispense.

8/16/2026: Weighed 14.4 lbs. No URI signs seen today. DA2PP-V administered.

8/10/26: One puppy found roaming.

🚑 Medical Notes:

8/10/26: Generalized dermatitis noted all over the body. Some areas were very flaky with hair coming out similar to ringworm, along with pustules and some purulent discharge. Skin scrape was negative.

Puppy is approximately 6 weeks old. She has thinning hair and hair loss with flakes all over her body.

Assessment: Dermatitis, possible sarcoptic mange and/or ringworm.

Plan: Puppy was treated with Advantage Multi at intake and may need antifungal treatment.

💖 This tiny 6-week-old puppy should be growing up in a loving home, not facing the uncertainty of the shelter. She is at the beginning of her life and deserves the chance to receive the care, comfort, and safety every puppy needs.

💙 DUNKIN #A602371 - This dog is a neutered male. This dog is currently located in CLIND02. This dog weighs approximately 10.5 lbs.,is 3Y and has tested negative for heartworm disease. This dog is being posted to rescue due to other reasons.

***NEEDS PLACEMENT BY 8/11***

Meet Dunkin! He was adopted from us last week but was surrendered back today because his medical condition has continued to get worse. He was first noted to have sores and ulcers on the paw pads on Friday. Since then, the condition has progressed significantly. Today, there were severe sores, inflammation, and areas where the paw pads are peeling off on all four legs. There were also sores between the toes and around the paws, as well as sores and inflammation on both elbows. The condition is affecting multiple areas of the paws and legs, with redness, swelling, ulceration, and loss of the normal skin and paw-pad tissue. We are concerned that there may be an underlying serious medical condition causing these changes such as an autoimmune disease, a liver-related skin condition, cancer, or another disease. The dog will need additional testing to determine the cause. This may include bloodwork, skin biopsies, or additional testing by veterinary specialists. Treatment could be extensive and may require medications for several weeks or potentially for the rest of the dogs life. He has more medical concerns than we can handle and manage here and needs placement ASAP
