This evening at Kartavya Path, where a lamp-lighting ceremony was being held to celebrate PM Modi’s birthday, led by Delhi CM Rekha Gupta, spotted several schoolchildren in uniform.

I spoke to some of them. They told me their schools had directed them to attend the event, even though their exams are currently going on.

I also asked their teachers about it. I was told that the NDMC had directed the schools to send students to the ceremony.

So, apparently, when exams are underway, lighting lamps and celebrating the Prime Minister’s birthday takes priority.

What a reflection of the education system we have built.

>The rider, who goes by the name Sia and runs the Instagram page "rebelwheels_sia_", said she was riding her Aprilia RS 457 along Golf Course Road on Sunday with fellow members of her biking group when the car began following her. She was thrown off her bike after the vehicle struck it, and her motorcycle was dragged several metres along the road before coming to a halt.
