I don’t feel chosen by God

To say the least, I (20M) have had a rough year. I’ve been a Christian for two years, and Ive sought after him ever since. I’ve put my sole faith in him, I’ve prayed, I try to stray from sin, and I want to live a life that is led by Christ, even if it is hard. But now, I think I’ve reached my breaking point.

I grew up with abusive parents who would physically torment me and push me to my mental breaking point. I slit my wrists, had suicidal ideation, and depression all before I was even twelve. Throughout my like, numerous people have taken advantage of me. They’re able to crash their car into my life and leave, and I’m left with the broken pieces. With time I’ve been able to get over these experiences, but the same thing just keeps happening. And admittedly it makes me feel worthless.

to this city last year to pursue college. Going into school, I didn’t have any friends who were Christian, my family lived four hours away, and I felt incredibly lonely. That was until January of 2026, when I found a Christian friend group, who welcomed me in. I spent time with them for nearly six months, and I also met a girl from the same club. things were going really well. I brought her flowers, we went out on multiple dates, sharpened each other spiritually and we were physically affectionate. It genuinely seemed like we were compatible, until ultimately I got the “im not looking for anything serious” talk. I didn’t object to that since she’s totally entitled to how she felt. But not long after she told me this I found out the entire time we were talking, she was talking badly about me, along with the people I broke bread with for six months. She created lies about me to make me appear naive, explained how she would manipulate me, and even insulted some of things I did for her, like the flowers, and my trust instantly broke.

And there was a recent situation with another girl that used me sexually and left me without a second thought, which leaves me back to where I was when I first moved to this city: lonely.

I almost just have zero drive to better myself, because each time I try there’s setbacks. Each time I trust, there’s betrayal. Each time I hope, I get disappointed. It feels like God is punishing me for my sins and mistakes. Everyone in my church has such a destined path that the Lord has drawn out for them, yet me, I’m left with nothing. I almost want to visit some pastor just to get some kind of prophecy just to prove myself my life has any kind of genuine value. Because I can’t see it right now. I just can’t.

batmite Anthology series

Guys since the DCU is highlighting z list characters I’m gonna pitch a project that we would all want to see. Batmite: Caped Appreciator. It would be a dark, gritty anthology story with Chris Pratt starring as the crazed imp. Ideally this would be made before Batman is even cast (we don’t need Batman). Rick Flag Sr would be the main villain and the show would set up the Amanda Waller series. The last episode has a post credit scene that shows the silhouette of Bruce Wayne’s limo. The crowd goes wild. What do you guys think?

She’s Asking Me for A second chance

during mid June of 2026, I (20M) met this girl (19F) at my job. We exchange looks before she eventually comes up to me and we start talking. I find out she’s a Christian, goes to my school, is minoring what I’m majoring in, and it looks like she’s my type. She asks me if I wanted her number and I immediately put it in my phone. That same day, after my shift, she texts me wanting to FaceTime. And thus began the madness.

Long story short (because I think the story is way too long and nobody would read it) within a few weeks of knowing her, she told me that she wanted to have sex with me, ended up having a boyfriend while talking romantically, and shared a borderline blasphemous view on crystals. I was hoping I could possibly see the best in her, so I stayed because I found her attractive. But eventually I got tired of the mixed signals so I told her that I wouldn’t just keep talking to her if she had a boyfriend. And she responded by blowing up my phone, saying that there was a “jezebel demon” in her room. Shortly after I blocked her.

I moved on from her, and I was starting to plan my life after school to join the military. I had a recruiter call me from my hometown to tell my that I’m qualified to join, but he couldn’t do much since I’m no longer zoned in his area; so he referred my number to a recruiter to where I currently live. I was at work, and I saw that I had 3 missing calls from a mysterious number. I thought it was the recruiter so I immediately called back. And the first thing I heard was “you know you can’t block a Dominican, right?” My jaw dropped. It was her. She asked for an explanation as to why I blocked her, I gave it to her, and I blocked her again.

And, just a few days ago. She called me on another number. Again. But this time things were different. She apologized and said that she wanted a second chance. She went into why she was wrong for her sexual advances, the whole boyfriend thing, and the other mixed signals she gave. She provided genuine information as to why things happened the way they did and it made sense to me. She told me that in the time that we were apart that she didn’t change her feelings. and I could sense that she was being genuine so I agreed to tentatively try it once more. Now she seems a lot more emotionally regulated, but I still don’t exactly trust her. A lot has changed since June, and if I’m being honest with myself I don’t really want to date right now. And I told her this, but she still insists on being in my life regardless, saying she’ll wait for me.

If I’m being real, my logic is telling me to run the other way and leave. But a part of me doesn’t want to. One: I think she can get better and she genuinely wants to change. I see that in her. Two: I don’t want to kick her while she’s down. Right now she says she’s depressed and recently got SA’d, fired and hit by her father. She told me that hanging out with me is the glint of peace in the chaos she goes through. I want to be there for her. But I also don’t want to compromise myself either. I haven’t told many people about this, but from the ones I have they told me that I should still leave. I would just feel like a bad person if I did. I don’t know what to think

Is Romance Dead?

I just turned 20 in May, and this year I have had some pretty bad experiences as far as dating. I was talking to a girl for two months, and things were going really well. I brought her flowers, we went out on multiple dates, and we were physically affectionate. It genuinely seemed like we were compatible, until ultimately I got the “im not looking for anything serious” talk. I didn’t object to that since she’s totally entitled to how she felt. But not long after she told me this I found out the entire time we were talking, she was talking badly about me. She created lies about me to make me appear naive, explained how she would manipulate me, and even insulted some of things I did for her; like the flowers.

Obviously my heart was broken into a million pieces lmao. But what really got to me was her mindset. Like, there was an explanation and thought process behind everything that she did. If she left me on delivered, it was intentional. If she ignored me in person, she did it maliciously.

Not long after that, I chose to take a break from dating because I needed some time to heal from what she did. But admittedly, women are my kryptonite. So when a pretty girl at my job asked me for my number I jumped towards the opportunity. But I wanted to take my time and get to know her because she seemed like a good person, and I thought she was nice.

We seemed to be really compatible at first, but she started to get too comfortable with me, showing me her thong, FaceTiming me with her hand in her pants, and even told me she wanted to suck my dick… we only knew each other for three days by the time she said that. And the entire time, she had a boyfriend. Eventually I got tired of the mixed signals and blocked her, and like the sane person she is she called me on another number yelling at me for an explanation as to why I “blocked a Dominican.”

I know it isn’t the most serious issue in the world, but is romance these days dead? Should I just wait until I’m out of school to date? Because a lot of the people I’m around seem more into messing around and hooking up. Whereas me, I want something real and romantic. Could you guys give me some encouragement and stories of your own experiences? Because at this point I’m ready to give up permanently. Love is hard man

My name is Noa, and I am a born again Christian. I was born into a religious family, but I never understood the magnitude of a relationship with Jesus until 2024. I don’t subscribe to any denomination im lowkey just a Christ follower ✌🏾
