Passport control vs Security

Planning to fly SFO to LHR
Eurostar train London Paris
Fly CDG to FCO
Fly FCO to SFO

Do I have this correct, security at all of them.

Passport control at LHR and the St. Pancras station going to Paris from London. No passport control CDG to FCO, and then passport control FCO and upon return SFO?

It’s the CDG to FCO I’m not totally sure about for the passport control.

Thanks

Traffic from Truckee Sunday morning holiday weekend?

Planning to go to Truckee for the fourth, need to be in San Jose by 2pm. Trying to plan ahead, I know traffic coming back from South lake can be a nightmare, curious how bad it will be from Truckee. It’s a 4 hour drive without traffic, I’m thinking of I leave around 5/6am I should be ok. Should I plan more on the 5 side? Thanks

Looking for Escape Room in Paris, France

Looking for the best and scariest room in Paris, that can be done by 2 people, and allows 16 year old and up. Came across 1 that was well reviewed, but it was 18 and older. Thanks. We are coming from the USA, so not sure if any rooms are exclusively in French, but it seemed like a lot I came across were English speaking friendly.

Looking for a unique experience for me and my nephew coming, Would love to team us with someone local if there is a room that is really great, but requires more than 2 people, we are pretty comfortable doing escape rooms.

Going to First Show at Lyric (Hadestown) Seat suggestion

Trying to decide the best seats for first timers, taking my nephew, it will be his first show, I have been to some broadway shows, but this will be my first time in London. SeatPlan is making me lean towards Dress Circle, Rows F or G for the mix of view and price, but I am open to suggestion. Thanks

Help Picking Football Match to Attend

I will be in London on this day, I was looking at the EFL Championship schedule. My Plan A is to try and go for the homerun and get tickets to Arsenal vs. Chelsea, but I realize that is a stretch. So I wanted to have a match lined up as a back up plan. I am taking a 16yo nephew who I wanted to show a fun football experience, I don't think we get a similar experience here, except maybe college football, which he hasn't been to yet. We are in the states. I don't know as much about the EFL Championship teams, but I was thinking the West Ham vs Derby Country might be the best pick. Anyone have any recommendations for what match might have the best overall atmosphere? Specifically the London matches, or matches not too far from London by train. Thanks!

Anyone ever checked bottled beer or cans? Looking for advice

Looking to fly from USA to England and want to bring a mate some beer. Never done this before and I am reading up on it. Wanted to see if anyone had some good advice or tips.

The general idea seems to pack them in clothes to cushion them. Is there a difference for packing cans vs bottles?

Thanks for any help, I wasn’t planning to bring a checked bag so I didn’t really plan to have any clothes to cushion them, but I obviously can, worried about them leaking though.

Also hearing horror stories about checked luggage at terminal 5 at Heathrow.

Looking for some feedback on my EPL game options - First timer from USA

I realize it may not happen, but the only day we will be in London and there are games will be Sept 5, 2026. There are 3 games I am looking at. Arsenal (yeah I know), Fulham, and Brentford. I am wondering the best chance for tickets. I am taking my 16yo nephew, and he is really into sports, but not specifically Football. I am wondering which would probably be the best experience in terms of the overall experience, not specifically the best team. Like the fans and atmosphere of the crowd.

We like it a little more "passionate" or lively. Would like to engage in any of the clubs traditions. I know very little though. I do understand my best chance will be hospitality, and to join as a member. Don't care where we sit, although we would like to be in the more lively section, like maybe the more vocal fans. Any help would be appreciated, I have been waiting for almost a year for the schedule to come out. My back up plan is the EFL schedules come out next week I believe. I may try one of those games if I miss out on one of these games. Thanks

Trying to figure out my best option for getting internet about 200ft away from apartment to garage

My garage is about 125ft away from my apartment, but I am thinking with how I would need to run the cable, I would need 200-250ft of cat6 cable to reach. I want to connect my garage door opener to my phone/smart system, but need wifi within range of the garage door opener. I was thinking of running the cat6 cable into the garage (my landlord is ok with this) and then plugging in something like the TP-Link AC1200.

Is there a better way to do this? or cheaper? Obviously not something I need, but would like to be able to close the garage door if I left it open or to be able to check.

Thanks

2020 Kia Soul GT Line Turbo Not Starting - Looking for some advice

Trying to trouble shoot until I can get it towed to a mechanic. Posted another sub, seems to think it's the starter not the battery, just wondering if anyone here has some similar experience and might know if is more likely the starter or the start solenoid, something else? Is the starter something a auto parts store would normally carry, or most likely I have to order from the dealer?

Thanks.

[Hiring] Looking for a art for to make into a sticker for an upcoming concert

Budget is $100, not sure the legality of this. I wanted to make a sticker to pass out at a concert I am planning to go to, not selling them, just give to other fans. I wanted to incorporate the venue and the bands fan name. Kind of wanted to talk to an artist about the specifics instead of posting the band and venue here if thats cool. Not even sure this is doable or if my budget is in line. Thanks!

Where to find Key Limes?

Maybe it's just not the time, but haven't seen them at Safeway, looking to make a key lime pie in a couple of weeks, and looking for the best place to pick some up. Does the Saturday Market usually have some? Thanks

Looking for Feedback on Vatican Itinerary

I am flying into FCO on a Tuesday from Paris arriving at 9am. My hotel check in is 2pm, but I can drop off my luggage before. It is right next to the Colosseum. I bought a Vatican ticket (not guided) for 5:30pm that Tuesday because at the time, my other days and times were sold out (I think they just hadn't released tickets) Now tickets are available for my other days so I am looking at my options and was hoping to get some feedback on the best plan:

  1. Keep the 5:30pm for the Vatican museums and either go earlier to do the Basilica and Dome the same day. I am going with my 160yo nephew and we are just looking at the highlights (Sistine Chapel, Raphael Rooms).

  2. Keep the 5:30pm but do the Basilica/Dome another day. I will be there Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday (Thursday is currently reserved for the Colosseum/Forum, this could change depending on ticket availability, I have 2 tours booked right now, and I plan to try to get my own tickets since I know they could be cancelled). I could do Basilica/Dome any other day pretty much anytime, but was looking at the first timed reservation 8am.

  3. Pick another day to do both. In this case, I am wondering which is better to do first, Museums or Basilica/Dome, and what time to book the second one, if I book the first at 8am. So either Museums at 8am, then Dome/Basilica at like 12pm? or vise versa? I know Wednesday is a little different, so I am wondering if the papal audience would pull crowds away from the museums? or is it not worth going Wednesday?

I appreciate any feedback/advice! Thank you.

Cookies came out flat, I think my baking soda is “dead”

I’ve seen two options to help them being flat, one is to cook at lower temp, 325, and some suggest cooking at higher temp, 400.

Cookies do taste good but look pretty bad. Wondering if I should try a lower or higher temp to try and not be so flat.

I have half the dough left, the only other thing I can think of is I used a different butter (kerrygold Irish) o browned it first and then chilled it overnight, and softened it before mixing the ingredients. I may have also over beat the butter and sugars. The butter wasn’t soft so I beat it a little longer than usual. I have some baking soda and cornstarch I used from Christmas time, but the container they are in isn’t really airtight, so I figured it was that.

Thanks

[TOMT] 80’s sounding song, made more recently 2010/20’s

All I know is the chorus has the word Boy”boy” it’s sung by a female, in a drawn out melodic way. I heard a song by the band magic wands that reminded me of it, they have a similar sound, but I couldn’t find the song in their catalog.

Here is the song that reminded me of the song I am looking for:

Looking for synth wave like song, sounds like an 80s song

I know the chorus has the word Boy, it’s drawn out and melodic, I know it’s a female singer and I was reminded of it when I heard a magic wand song, I e been trying to go through their catalog but haven’t heard the song so it may not be them.

Looking for advice to fix water dispenser

Top loading water dispenser is having some kind of issue where it’s not letting water/air in correctly. When you pour water out it starts out normal but after a few seconds it stops pouring water until you stop and you can see air escaping into the bottle, then you can pour again after the water goes into the tank. I believe it’s something called airlock, but I tried pumping all the spouts, hot and cold, and I tried checking the airlines and filter.

Is it possible to file for sole custody without an attorney?

My sister is looking to file for sole custody for my 16yo nephew. His dad is in jail with some pretty serious charges, and she efiled today actually. She was asking me for help, so I am looking online for guidance before calling some family law attorneys, I’m hoping the more info I can gather before going, the less time I will need for the consult, she doesn’t make much money, I’m willing to help financially, but want to try and keep the cost down best I can. I am wondering is it a pretty bad idea to try and follow the online filing system on her own, or will that get us in front of a judge to please her case due to the nature of the charges and the wishes of the child, my nephew doesn’t want to be with his dad anymore, the latest divorce or custody is 50/50, but the past month or so since he has had some legal issues and then going to jail my nephew has been at his moms.

I want to help her the best I can but feel pretty overwhelmed by the legal system.

Is there anyway to tell if these are Stem casters or threaded wheels?

I need to replace these at work with locking wheels, but I am not sure if they are stem or threaded. I know I need to remove one to measure the thread length if they are threaded, not as sure about how the stems work size wise. Any other options for adding locking mechanisms to the wheels? I have seen some that can be added on, but not sure if they are specific to a certain wheel. Starting to think it will be easier to just buy a new table!
