Area Rug Cleaning: Is it worth it?

So I have an area rug that’s about 6 feet x 9 feet.

I’ve had it about 5 years and vacuum and disinfect it, but I know it probably needs a deep clean.

It was about $300/$400 at Costco. I don’t love it as much as I use to, so I’m thinking it’s time for an upgrade.

With that said, I know it’s still a good carpet and I could have it cleaned, but is paying a cleaning service even worth it? I feel like it’d probably cost half the price of a new rug, if not more.

I hate being wasteful so I’m struggling.

People of NYC, was it worth cleaning a rug like this?

Feeling A Little Stuck In My 30s

So I’m approaching my 10 year anniversary in NYC and transparently I’ve felt a little stuck since Covid.

Prior to 2020, I was in my mid to late 20s, always going out and meeting new people. I felt like I had a really strong friend group and was always doing something. Over covid, I realized those people weren’t life long friends (not a problem, we all learn and grow).

I have other friends now that I am much closer with and am happy with, but still feel like I’m not as fun and social as I use to be. My friends are very career driven, but our lives revolve around work, and I’m looking to make some changes outside of my 9 to 5.

I love my career, just got promoted and finally making the money I want to.

My friends, while all lovely people, do not enjoy going out as much, are either in serious relationships, or married to their jobs.

Does anyone have suggestions / been in a similar situation? What are some ways to get out of this funk? What has been successful for you?

However, n

If you’re the roommate who doesn’t contribute to cleaning, you suck.

My roommate is essentially a stranger. We’ve lived together for 4 years. Our rent is cheap and I love our unit.

My roommate however contributes absolutely nothing to cleaning and he’s 30-something years old.

While I’m a clean freak, I like to vacuum and mop once a week, bleach the bathroom, etc. My roommate never has offered to help or take any initiative to help.

He often leaves crumbs everywhere after cooking and leaves the counter half clean.

I am ultimately fine with this because of all the other pros, but I simply wonder what goes on in his head. How does one just let everyone else manage the home?

Do Your Loved Ones Have Random Opinions that are Inconsistent with Everything Else They Say?

My parents are Republicans and watch Fox News all day. They don’t love Trump, but think he’s doing a good job.

On multiple occasions, my parents have told me how much they love Pete Buttigieg and that they would consider voting democratic for him.

I’m always so confused. None of this adds up.

How Much Do You Pay for Rent in NYC?

I’m trying to remind myself what a good deal I have and that living solo would just be dumb.

What’s neighborhood are you in? How many rooms?

I pay $1700 for a king size bedroom in a 3 bed, 2 bath in Midtown West

I’m in the back of a cab in NYC struck in traffic listening to Charli

I’ve been a fan since 2013 and maybe I’ve been drinking too much (I’m 4 martinis and an Aperol spritz deep) and god it’s been such a pleasure to grow up with her.

Call me corny in the comments please!

God I love this music.

That Talent Show …

Did Production have really strict rules / asks for this talent show?

It was such a mess across the board. It felt like everyone was trying to do their best with what was possible.

Am I crazy? It felt like something was off.

Should I start considering a GLP1

I’m a 33 year old male.

Pre Covid, I was a bodybuilding . I weighed about 165, had visible muscle and veins. I was happy with how I looked.

Covid killed all of my good habits and I’ve been trying to get back to where I was. I’ve become important at work (nearly tripled my salary) and work like a dog. This has killed a lot of my work out energy (along with getting older)

I now weigh about 205 lbs. I don’t like the way I look and I keep saying “I’m going to get back there”. I’ve been saying this since 2022. It’s not working.

I’m still strong, if not stronger. (I can bench 265, I’m only 5” 4) and workout 3 to 4 times per week, but often skip cardio.

I spend so much energy thinking about food and working out.

Has anyone else been in a similar situation? I don’t think this is something I would want to stay on forever, but i would like to give myself a head start / booster.

I know i have to build consistent habits or else I’ll just gain it back, but wondering if losing the weight will help encourage consistency.

Please note, I understand these drugs were developed for people who weigh much more than me with other health complications.

Thoughts on GLP1s for moderately fit people?

I’m a 33 year old male.

Why is MyFitnessPal changing my protein goal?

I pay for Premium and have set my macros. My protein goal is 180 grams of protein.

I have not logged water or workouts. Yesterday was 180 grams of protein. Today it’s saying 200. Tomorrow it’s say 180.

I’m so confused.

How to Deal with the Feeling of Losing Control While I Am on Vacation

Former advertiser, now in house for a brand. Ive been with the company for 4 years and have gone from a very understaffed team of just me, to a team of 3 in the past year. Two of them are 2 months in. We have new C Suite and have high demands, which Im happy about as it’s been really pushing me to work harder and smarter.

I am the senior lead on my team, and am taking my first few days of PTO this year and I hate the feeling of being disconnected. I understand this is bad and I’m micromanaging. I think a lot of this comes from me being so passionate about the work and my team being so new.

I made a PTO Document for my team to handle while I’m away from work and I just have this feeling of dread/anxiety that things are going to be done wrong. I’m 4 days into vacation and I am struggling.

At this point I’d rather work to calm my nerves.

What can I do to better about this so I can fully log off and be a better manager?

What Disney Worlds Are You Expecting in KH4?

I was replaying KH2 the other day and forgot Chicken Little was a summon and I realized Disney movies are far outpacing KH games that a character that’s so insignificant nowadays was in that game, so it got me wondering, what movies do we expect in the next game?

  1. Hercules (somewhat confirmed)
  2. Moana (Popularity)
  3. Zootopia (Popularity)
  4. Frozen (Popularity + 2nd film)
  5. Encanto (Popularity)
  6. Lilo and Stich (Live action was a massive success and feel like Stitch’s story plays well with the KH universe)

What do you think will be next / come back?

I keep hearing people are meeting at HYROX and Run Clubs from media outlets, but no one I know has met any one more than a casual friend.

I Am So Over West and Amanda Paparazzi Photos

To the people who keep posting these and engaging with it, I really think it’s time to take a hard look in the mirror and ask why you’re still engaging with this stuff.

It’s been almost 3 months. It’s time to let the mouse go.

This saga was interesting at first, but now that we’ve seen the full season, a 3 part reunion, a special episode that followed up on it, and daily updates from people taking their photos out in public….. let’s pack it up.

If you need a new show / something interesting to talk about, might I suggest Ladies of London?
