Immeasurable foolishness from I

Up until the Cave to the Sealed Gate I did two wonderfully foolish things:

  1. I didn't equip any espers. I didn't even know that was possible.

  2. I thought the Rage menu had the entire catalog of rages and only used the one rage I knew I'd acquired: Bomb.

This led to some horrid consequences. The fight with the boss in the train sequence was horrendous and used up a lot of my items and my sanity. I ran out of Hi-Potions in the Magitek Factory and during the crane fight put Gau on the Bomb rage. Without Cure all of my party died after defeating the ice crane, while Gau used Blaze continuously on the crane (healing it) and the crane did its thermal reaction thing and used a Fire attack (healing Gu) causing an endless battle loop softlock. I defeated the Cranes barely with Sabin alive by 4 HP.

Now I learnt... I could've breezed through. No wonder

Now I learnt my suffering was useless.

Now I learnt Gau wasn't a holy savior to all, but only to esperless me, even with most of his catalog inaccessible.

Gau is good

He's not as bad as people make him out to be. He can be a Jack of All Trades when you need him to be. He can use Blaze or he can use Blizzara (I used Bomb and Veil Dancer for this) and he can become the most OP thing you've ever seen. A lot of people seem to ignore him but use him right and he's an absolute menace. He can mow through most enemies if you use the right rage. A bit of strategy is all you need to use him right.

My D:/ and Downloads folder have fused. How to separate them?

I noticed my D:/ drive was empty so I decided to move my Downloads folder to it. Like an idiot I moved it straight to D:/ using the location tab in Properties rather than making a folder first. Now the two folders have fused, and I can't move anything else to the folder. Please help.

What if Zheng He had established a small outpost on the Strait of Malacca to prevent the rise of Chen Zuyi again, and said outpost soon developed into a Chinese customs point for collecting fees on goods passing through?

This would, in my opinion, do the following:

It would legitimize Zheng He's fleet; with large sums of money coming in from Arab and Indian ships passing through to trade with China and most of Indochina, it would no longer be a drain on China's fiscal reserves and thus it wouldn't delegitimatize the fleet, preventing Hongxi's ending of Zheng He's voyages and Xuande's destruction of the Chinese navy and the isolation that would follow.

The Malacca Sultanate wouldn't rise as Chinese interests were at Malacca; without the rise of said sultanate, the East Indies would remain majority Hindu-Buddhist without the wave of Islamization following the collapse of the Majapahit. It would also mean there was no weaker power for the Portuguese to conquer in 1511, meaning that they wouldn't secure Malacca and thus wouldn't have a monopoly on the spice trade.

The Chinese would now have guns and cannons from trade with Europe, unlike what happened with their isolation, making them less self-centered and more on equal grounds. East Africa, home to states friendly with China, would still get Chinese resources and aid and would resist colonization more.

India would also be affected heavily. Without Portuguese control over Chinese trade, India wouldn't have the problem that allowed the Portuguese to blockade the strait to force coastal states into surrendering as they now had blocked their main source of income. With Chinese trade intact Portugal's advantage is much smaller and Indian resistance to them would be higher, preventing the colonization wave that would follow. Without the Portuguese precedent the British and Dutch would look towards the Americas and West Africa much more instead.

Changing my views following an incident

Following an incident which sorta shocked me, I'm officially changing my stance.

I'm now a...

Neutral...

Leaning pro.

Now what was this incident? The realization that my views were actually pro-AI with about 30% anti views. AKA I was considering myself anti for the sake of internet points. And I realized... I was radicalizing. I was starting to hate. My pro-AI views were being sidelined and I started to want to scream slurs at pros. I know it isn't inherently bad to be anti at all, at all, but I spend too much time in this sub and that radicalizes you. I'm glad I caught myself before going down the slippery slope and I'm doing this for the sake of the sanity of both me and strangers on the internet.

But now you can welcome me to the team. (Albeit I still hate the sheer generalization the anti community gets and DAIA)
