Does The Great Circle have an arachnophobia mode?

Hi, I saw that the game released for the Switch 2 and I heard it’s great, but I am absolutely terrified of spiders. Is there a way to turn them off? Thanks!

Do you need the complete adventure for episodes 6-8?

I was thinking about getting MC:SM for the PS4 but I’m not sure if I need the complete adventure or if I can download it normally with the season pass. I do not want to jailbreak or mod or burn CDs. Thanks!

What makes a visual novel fun for you?

Hi, I’m developing a VN using Ren’Py. I don’t want the game to be boring, so I’m wondering.

Why do you play VNs? What makes them fun for you? And are there any features you’d want to see in a VN?

Thanks guys!

Thank you, Rec Room, for everything you have done.

As we all know, Rec Room is shutting down in a month. All we can do now is play until it’s done.

Rec Room has given me a lot of memories over the years, from meeting people in the Rec Centre, to playing in paintball (though the new Paintball hub ruined it for me). I remember the first time I picked up a VR headset. The first game I played was Rec Room. I played through the tutorial, then jumped straight into a paintball game. Of course, I was new to it and didn’t know any strategies, but I still had fun.

After a few lobbies, I joined one on the quarry map (or whatever it’s called). I saw the shield and picked it up, hoping it would protect me. Then a teammate that I hadn’t seen yet came over humming and looked over to me and told me how useless they are. He was very kind about it though. He gave me tips, and we went together through the game. Then, the game finished. I went onto the next game (in the same lobby).

Same map, but my buddy was on a different team. I felt sad that we went apart, but I knew he would still help me. He was the kindest Rec Roomer I’ve ever met. No, actually. Whenever I shot him, he would praise me telling me how good I got him. I said the same back to him. I for sure wanted to friend this guy. He was so nice! But before the game could finish, my headset lost connection for a split second, which disconnected me. I still feel so sad I never got to see him again, but I still remember this as one of, if not my favourite VR memory.

But now, the game is shutting down forever. I, unfortunately, will most likely never see him or any of my other friends I made in Rec Room ever again.

I wanted to make this post as a tribute to a game that made so many fond memories, that got us through tough times, and one that we will always remember as the VR game that brought us together as a community.

Thank you, Rec Room.

Problem with scaling

Please help, I’m new to game development, and I’m making a pixel art style game in Ren’Py. I’ve set my resolution to 320x180 (it says it scales well with 1080p) but my pixel art looks blurry. Is there a script somewhere to change the texture filtering? Thanks, this helps a lot.

Any tips for a first time game dev?

I’ve never developed a game before but want to make one using RenPy. It’s a pixel art style game about a British man going through a rough time in his life, trying to pick out a good job to fit him, before things turn south for his safety. I’m still working on the story, but I need some tips for coding/formatting.

A) I added the main character to my game but he’s tiny, is there a way I can decrease the resolution/zoom in on him?
B) Any good font suggestions for this style of game?
C) What are some elements that make a visual novel fun for you? Just so I can get ideas.

Thanks!
