What are your Credit Cards? Any reason to keep Rogers WE MC and Tangerine World MC?

Hello.

Part of the FI journey is to utilize cashback and CC benefits.

Currently have those 2 cards which haven't been used since I got the WS Visa CC.

Tangerine was good for 2% on some categories ... Irrelevant now. WS Visa 2% on all purchases.

WE MC was good for one of the other categories for 1.5% .. Irrelevant now, as above.

The only 1 small benefit I see is the 1 GB/year FlexiRoam with Tangerine WE MC.

Anything I am missing? I am not a Fido/Rogers user.

For travel, I always have a specific travel CC (Until WS includes QC in their insurance) and I also have CanadianTire Triangle WE MC which I am keeping (1% on bill/property tax, Roadside Assistance, and 3% cashback on grocery (ex. Costco/Walmart).

Thanks

3HK Prepaid eSIM - No Roaming Data - Real name registration with Passport fails.

Hello. I have used 3HK before with no issue when purchased through MobiMatter, this was in 2024-2025.

However, now I purchased directly from 3HK, same exact plan but cheaper, roaming Canada,US,UK,Australia,NZ.

Installed the eSIM. It connects to Rogers Wireless. Shows LTE and VoLTE. Receives SMS from 3HK but no data at all.

I know about the registration but I thought this is only required for HK itself not roaming.

Regardless, I have tried to register using Passport but after 2+ hours it failed. I don't have an HK ID. I tried contacting support with no luck. No support just bot/AI agents through loops.

I emailed them and also no reply. I tried to call the toll free number on their site but it says I don't have enough credit. And that number isn't valid if calling from Canadian number (it has extra digit). It has been a loop so far.

I also tried to see if it is the Network Access Point configuration. It was mobile.three.com.hk . I changed it to mobile.lte.three.com.hk in reference to their FAQ but no luck.

I am pretty sure they are blocking it because of the real name registration which isn't working. Any help is appreciated. Otherwise, I have to request a chargeback from my credit card company for failed to deliver a service and go with another provider.

Thank you.

Horrible RESP experience - How to Escalate?

I raised this concern but I am suffering with the customer service.

  1. I transferred my account in 2020 to Questrade
  2. I filled up (and have email proof) the QESI (Quebec RESP Grant) in Feb-Mar 2021
  3. This is a Questwealth account, Managed by QT so I didn't overthink, transferred $5,000 (2 kids) every year and that's it.
  4. In April 2026, I noticed that I never received QESI. I contacted Support on April 13. Chat support said someone will contact me in 5 days.
  5. Didn't receive any follow-up. Sent another email and support ticket on May 4.
  6. QT followed-up and surprisingly wanted to confirm if my children are residents of QC. I confirmed and provided the address. Remember, in 2021, I already filled out the QESI form so QT def knew we are residents of QC and my address on QT has been always accurate.
  7. Today, May 11, I have not received any answer, apology, assurane, or follow-up. I sent another email.

Why QT doesn't have proper escalation process? The only email is the generic support@QT.

QT, You need to pay my kids' RESP from 2020! That's about $3,000 (we aren't counting all the lost appreciation/dividends/compound)!

So disappointing.

Considering the beauty of anonymity of Reddit, please share your position, years in IT, and salary. It would be nice to also know if you are full-time, contractor and if it is for a big enterprise, small/medium, or government.

I go first.

Education: Masters Engineering

Years in IT: 16

Salary: $162K

Employer: International non-profit organization

Location: Quebec

Position: IT Admin (But I am actually a manager, they just don't want to change my title, another story)

Benefits: 5 weeks vacation, health insurance with no deduction, 10 days sick leave, 5 days family leave (Only for family-emergency related stuff, can't be taken for personal vacation)

Happy to see what you make and how I am doing.

Thanks.

Salaire : 162 000 $

Employeur : Organisation internationale à but non lucratif

Merci.
