Here is what really happened when Fox 2 Detroit anchor Taryn Asher cursed out her executive producer several years ago...

From The Desk:

A leaked video showing a former Fox Television Station anchor engaging in a heated discussion with a newsroom colleague is drawing renewed interest in the anchor’s wrongful termination case against the broadcaster.

The video was filmed in 2023 and shows then-anchor Taryn Asher of WJBK (Channel 2, Fox) filming a promotional video for something connected to the Fox-owned station’s local newscast.

At some point during the video, a colleague interrupts the filming to inquire about Asher’s accessing of a script connected with the video in question. The exchange becomes tense after the colleague exits the studio before Asher could finish her remarks, prompting Asher to call her a “bitch” under her breath and complain that she was tired of the colleague’s antics.

According to two sources who spoke with The Desk, the colleague who interrupted Asher’s taping was the station’s Executive Producer for News Traci Kryscynski, who also goes by the name Traci Ditchie.

Prior to the exchange, Kryscynski was attempting to edit scripts associated with the newscast, the sources said. While reviewing a script filed by reporter Amy Andrews, she became locked out of making additional edits because Asher’s computer was accessing it for her taped segment.

Kryscynski entered the studio to ask why Asher was still working in Lange’s script, which prompted the exchange shown on video. The footage was retained by WJBK and Fox Television Stations after someone involved in the interaction made a complaint to station executives, which prompted an internal investigation and led to Asher’s brief suspension — but not her firing.

Latest Monet update made weird changes to my Sony TV

Had to uninstall Monet because the latest update caused half the screen to have a very bright, very weird hue. Ultimately, the "fix" was to completely uninstall Monet and reset the TV, and now it works fine, but I'm stuck with the Google TV launcher until the developer pushes out a fix :'(

Questions about 8.0 touchscreen infotainment system (one about Carplay, one about maintenance/cleaning)

From the top: 2020 Subaru Impreza sedan base model. Swapped the base 6.5-inch touchscreen radio with the premium 8-inch touchscreen with HD Radio, Satellite and CD player. (Satellite isn't hooked up yet, waiting on a part.)

Two things:

  1. Radio works fine, but couldn't get Apple CarPlay to work. Apparently, the 1 Amp USB port/Aux connector that comes with the stock Impreza isn't enough to power CarPlay on the 8-inch touchscreen radio — it needs the 2.1 Amp USB port/Aux connector, so I have that ordered. The swap is supposed to be easy — pinch some clips and switch out the connections — but I'm wondering how hard it is to actually get to the back of the USB/aux connector in the caddy below the A/C knobs? Does part or all of the center console have to be removed? (I only see videos on YouTube about how to access the cubby from the STI with a manual shifter; I have an automatic.) Part should be coming in next week.
  2. Per the photos, there's some residue (glue, I think?) in the top corners of the screen, in front of the actual LCD screen but behind the plastic covering. Is that something I can easily get to by disassembling the front part of the unit and cleaning it with some alcohol/Goo gone? Or what is the best recommendation to clean that residue? (I'm not sure if it's adhesive that melted over time or if the owner of the car the radio came from was a smoker or what).

Thanks in advance!
