Got my Mirena removed yesterday and felt instant relief!!

I posted a few days ago about a bunch of side effects I’ve had since getting my Mirena inserted around 6ish weeks ago. Constant pain, cramping, feeling like my cervix was being stabbed, bleeding all the time, frequent urination, constipation, skin crawling/tickling feeling, hypersensitivity (like couldn’t even stand to wear certain clothes), etc.

I made them remove it yesterday and felt immediate relief from the pain, cramping, and feeling like I was being stabbed. I’ve also had no more of the skin crawling/tickling feeling on my face since it was out.

I know it’s very soon but I don’t think it was all in my head or anything. I am so glad to have it out. IUDs are apparently not for me!

If you are having issues, don’t let them gaslight you into thinking you’re crazy or say it can’t be the Mirena because it absolutely can! Some of us are just super sensitive to stuff. I am sensitive to all meds but I had no idea it would be this bad since it’s supposed to be “localized” but I do not believe that at all.

The ONLY positive I had was that I lost some weight due to not being able to eat hardly anything since I’ve had it. I can’t be 100% certain the Mirena caused the loss of appetite and changes in taste, but there was no other factor that could have caused it unless I had Covid and still tested negative (I was sick a while back and tested positive for strep but nothing else). But losing weight is not worth everything else it caused for sure.

I won’t say the removal was a breeze because they had trouble getting the speculum right so they could find the strings, so that wasn’t fun, it was actually worse than insertion. But that’s due to my anatomy so I’m sure it’s not going to be that way for everyone. They always have trouble like that with any procedure I have.

Please tell me I'm not crazy?? Has anyone else experienced any of this with Mirena?

I've had my Mirena since the first of April and I've had constant side effects ever since. Horrible, constant cramping and lower back pain; bleeding and spotting all the time; feeling like I have a UTI all the time and burning all over (I think its an IC flare); severe constipation, which is not my norm because I have IBS and no gallbladder, so I'm usually running to the bathroom constantly; and this weird feeling like something is tickling my nose/face and skin crawling feeling, which I usually get right before my period starts, so I think it has something to do with progesterone. But it has been constant ever since I got it inserted.

I go for a follow up this week and I know they'll probably gaslight me and say none of this is the IUD, so I wanted to ask if anyone else had experienced any of this before I go talk to him. I'm seriously thinking about asking to get it removed. I'm more miserable than before I got it. I got it for 10-12 day periods but all of these side effects are worse than bleeding a long time.

Cassian is his own worst enemy.

Cassian drives me nuts acting like the world is out to get him and he is treated so badly because he was a low born bastard. In reality, he has had a pretty decent life, all things considered. Especially in comparison to the other Illyrians. He was pretty young when Rhys' mother took him in, and he lived a pretty comfortable life from there on out. He has friends/a family, plenty of money, and people fawn over him because of his status as a war hero. He also has no trouble getting females when he wants them.

Yes, Nesta and Eris call him a bastard. But, he talked to Nesta like she was a piece of crap the very first time he met her. Honestly, I don't blame her for calling him that. Especially in this moment when he is quite literally forcing himself on her the second time they're around each other, asking her about her virginity (which is none of his business), whether she even likes males or wants females (also none of his business), and then ends up licking/kissing her throat without her permission RIGHT AFTER he realizes that she has been sexually assaulted before, and then asks her "what's under her skirts"....

Yeah, I would have called him a bastard brute and kicked him in the balls too. Maybe he shouldn't act like a brute. (Source for all this: Wings and Embers bonus chapter)

"But wah wah wah, Eris called me that too!" So what? You're 500 years old, get over it and stop letting a little name calling bother you so much. In Eris' defense, Cassian did sleep with his betrothed (who I theorize might have been his mate, but I'm not sure yet) so I can't really blame him for not being Cassian's biggest fan.

I hate Cassian for a multitude of reasons, and this is just one of the many. He needs to get over his self-pity party and move on and realize he's got it a lot better than many other people do.

Need some help learning the best way to work out with chronic fatigue and health issues.

Basically, I’ve got a whole lot of medical issues going on. I have chronic fatigue, I’m seeing a million doctors trying to get an official diagnosis of what exactly is going on. But, some days it’s hard for me to even get out of bed, or make it through the work day. And exercising can cause post-exertional malaise if I do too much at all.

I’m looking for some short but effective workouts. Exercises that will give results without me having to do super long workouts every day, which will put me unable to function for days.

I want to build strength and muscle.

Can anyone help? Thanks so much.

Did Vraylar help you any with intrusive thoughts or make them worse?

Doctor wants to add Vraylar to Prozac for intrusive thoughts and rumination but I am very nervous about the risk of akathisia as a side effect as I am prone to it and have had it several times on other SSRIs. I don’t want to end up with permanent TD or akathisia from a med. Is it worth trying? Did it help you any?

Adding Vraylar to Prozac, very nervous about side effects…

I have treatment resistant depression, severe anxiety, and OCD. I’ve tried lots of meds. Most have some sort of side effect that ends up making them intolerable. My genesight test said I’m a poor metabolizer so I have to have low doses.

One big problem I have with SSRIs is that almost all of them cause akathisia, which is unbearable. We went back to Prozac because I don’t remember it specifically causing it when I tried it before. But now doc wants to add Vraylar because I have horrible intrusive thoughts. I’m nervous since the movement disorders like TD and akathisia are even more common on it.

Anyone have good experiences on it and not get those side effects? I am really scared I’ll end up with something permanent from a med. They said they can give me a med to combat the akathisia if it happens, but I really hate to have to take another med to fix a side effect that some other med caused.

High factor VIII??

Gyn did VWB panel due to abnormally long periods. VWB factor and antigen are normal, but Factor VIII was high. Doc just said no more estrogen due to increased clotting risk and that was it. I’m getting conflicting info though. And I’m not sure how this works. How do you have a blood clotting issue but also a problem with heavy bleeding?

Anyone else pick their legs? How can I heal them fast?

I really hate that I pick at my legs. I have always been a picker and picked everywhere else on my body, but not my legs. And my legs were the only part of my body I didn’t despise. Now, I hate them too. I will get them almost healed and then relapse. What’s worse is, it gets worse right before summer when I’m going to be wearing shorts and stuff. So I get even more self-conscious about the spots if they show and that causes me to pick even more. It’s a vicious cycle (I’m sure you all understand).

Anyone have any tips to heal them faster? For some reason, my legs heal SO SLOWLY. I’m talking like months or even years. My arms and everything else will heal in a couple of days and I don’t even do anything to them. My legs don’t though. Which makes it worse because the longer I can see the places, the more agitated I get, and I will pick them back open. Any tips on how to heal them fast? I’ve tried stuff like vitamin e oil, BioOil, Mupirocin, washing with antibacterial soap every day, mederma, etc. and nothing really speeds it up.

I’m so annoyed with myself right now!!!

Looking for specific kind of Neris fics…

Hi guys! I’m absolutely obsessed with the idea of Neris! I have just never liked Nessian because I don’t like Cassian. I’m looking for Neris fanfics. I’ve tried a few and haven’t found what I’m looking for yet.

I definitely want longer fics. I don’t want back and forth indecision whether she’s going to choose Cassian or Eris for most of the story. I don’t want to read about Cassian much at all. SF was more than enough lol

I also want Eris to keep his signature snark and fire. I read one fic that was pretty good overall, but he was a bit *too* sweet to be believable lol. (For my tastes— I’m not trying to diss anyone’s fics). Don’t get me wrong, I want him to be sweet to Nesta, but I don’t think Nesta wants a doormat who can’t match her sass.

Any recs?

I thought Kindle Paperwhites weren’t supposed to have a glare?

I tried to take some pics so you can see what I mean. But one of the main reasons I wanted a Kindle was to escape the phone glare which gives me headaches. I still get a glare on mine though. Does anyone else have this issue? Is there any solution to it? I clean it regularly and stuff but it doesn’t make any difference in the glare.

This one is an older version. Perhaps the newer versions are better about this?

Where are the blonde or redheaded MMCs??

I’m tired of dark haired, broody, shadow daddy types. I like a few of them because I like their personalities, but they are just kinda getting old. Where are the blondes and redheads?

Also, where are the dudes that actually have hobbies besides training/fighting and sex??! Lol. Maybe I’m just old, idk. But I’m getting to the point where just having dark hair and a hot bod doesn’t do much for me anymore. I need some personality, quirks, anything to set them apart.

Any recs? 😊

I was tested for Von Willebrand Disease, Factor V Leiden, and Factor VIII because of abnormally heavy menstrual cycles. VWB and Factor V were negative but Factor VIII was 204 so gyn said err on the side of caution and not take anymore birth control with estrogen due to clot risk.

I’m just confused because I don’t know how you can have heavy bleeding and clot risk at the same time?

I asked for an explanation but it was not explained well. Anyone have any insight on this? Thank you.

Random questions that I need answers to!!

I’m doing a reread and have made a mental note of some random questions/thoughts that are really bugging me and I need answers to. Feel free to chime in with your theories if you want!!!

  1. What was Eris referring to when he said it “cost him” something to leave Mor that day in Autumn? And what is the “truth” she’s not telling about it?? Do you think they were mates?

  2. If Bryaxis was the thing in the pit of the library, and it is released in ACOWAR, then what is the thing in the darkness in ACOFAS that Nesta and Gwyn are freaked out by? Seems like I remember it being revealed that it’s the House, but I haven’t reached that part again yet? I may be wrong on that. If it’s the House, why would it scare her when it loves her??

  3. Who are Gwyn’s grandfather and father?! This is a big one for me!! Her grandmother, a river nymph from Spring, slept with an Autumn Court male. I assume this male had to be part of the nobility since it says she lived in the Forest House for a while. So is it one of the Vanserras?? I do not think it’s Lucien, but I think it could be Beron or one of Lucien’s brothers, maybe even Eris but idk. I’m not sure how long ago this happened or how old Eris or any of the brothers would have been.

Then, her mother slept with an “unnamed male that the magic chose” during the Rite. I was under the impression that the magic only chose the partner for the High Lord/person performing the Rite, like Tamlin and Lucien (ugh, my poor guy). So was it one of the High Lords? It says in the first book that they all do it, but then it’s retconned later to make it look like only Tamlin does. So I’m confused.

  1. Why do they consider some females too young for marriage or just young in general, but it’s fine that Feyre was like 19-20 when they met her and she’s their High Lady? Yet they repeatedly refer to Gwyn, who is 28, as a “girl”. They even call her “coltish” which, ya know, refers to a baby horse. Also, they act like it was the worst thing ever for the Lady of Autumn to be married to Beron at 20…….the same age Feyre was when she got with Rhys. Rhys’ mother was like 18? And Cassian is like, “meh, so what?” So what exactly are the rules regarding age here?? lol. Is it just another way the IC are hypocritical and make exceptions for themselves but no one else?

  2. I don’t fully understand Nesta’s power. What does the power of “death” mean? She just looks at them and they die? The whole nightmare scene when she’s bathed in silver flame and Rhys is trying to stop it and then basically panics afterwards was weird. Nobody understands her cold fire.

I think that’s all I can remember right now lol 😂

I do not like the whole switch to Helion being Lucien’s father for many reasons.

  1. I think it was a cheap way to throw in some drama and idk why we needed it when there’s enough unfinished storylines going on that we may never get resolved. We know basically nothing about Mor, we don’t know the truth about what happened with her and Eris, we know nothing about Azriel’s mother, we don’t know how they’re going to beat Koschei, who Elain is gonna end up with, where the Dusk court went and if it’s gonna come back, we don’t even know LOA’s name, etc etc. We didn’t really need Maury show drama.
  2. I don’t really care for Helion in general. He has like zero redeeming qualities. He’s a man whore who comes on to literally everyone and seems to be the type of person who will side with whoever gives him the best advantage in that moment. I just don’t like him.
  3. I don’t want Lucien to go be Prince of Day and live happily ever after with his hound dog daddy. Day doesn’t suit him, and I feel like he should be hurt after suffering at Beron’s hands his whole life when Beron wasn’t even his actual father. It feels like the suffering was all for nothing or something? Like why?

Idk I just think it’s a silly storyline in general and I would have rather kept Beron as his father, let Eris or LOA kill him, and let them fix their family. Idk why Helion has to be involved in the mix.

I’m usually a romantasy or historical romance girlie, but I’m getting a little bored/overwhelmed with them, so I’m looking to branch out into contemporary. I’ve really read hardly anything in this genre, but here are things I like and don’t like:

🚫Don’t want:

Sports

Mafia

Dark romance

Enemies to lovers (may make an exception if the MMC is not actually mean to her)

Teens/high school

❤️Do like:

Fluffy and sweet

Friends to lovers

Cinnamon roll MMCs

Grumpy/sunshine if he’s just grumpy and not actually mean and is sweet to her

Older MCs

Forced proximity (for the funny awkwardness)

Arranged marriage/marriage of convenience

Spice is fine but I don’t like when a book basically has no plot and is all about the smut, that’s not my style. I like more of a slow-burn progression or something.
