Is it just me, or do these beliefs always come bundled?

Why does it feel like racism, extreme religiosity, and anti abortion views always come bundled together as a package deal? Is there a reason these mindsets overlap so often?
What social or cultural dynamics cause these views to overlap so consistently?
Religious and racist???lmfao
Uh forgot to mention also very homophobic and xenophobic.
Sorry If I will offend anyone with this but I have never seen a non racist catholic.

Chronic low iron for years, given up on meds, but now I look severely yellow/pale. How do I break this cycle?

Hello,

I’ve struggled with iron deficiency since I was a kid, and I’m stuck in a frustrating, endless cycle. Every time I get on iron supplements, my levels go back to normal for a month or two, but as soon as I stop, they plummet again.

that I gave up on taking medications/supplements altogether. I’ve tried focusing on high-iron foods, but it’s just not working. For context:

Diet: I don't eat red meat at all (never could digest/enjoy beef, despite trying every way possible). I only eat chicken and fish.
Habits: I used to drink tea constantly. I’ve cut back significantly to only once or twice a week to avoid blocking iron absorption, but it hasn't made a difference

I look so pale yellow and washed out. There is literally no color left in my skin, and I constantly look and feel sick. It’s getting worse, and I’m so exhausted from looking like this all the time.

Has anyone else dealt with this specific level of severe paleness/yellowing from anemia? How did you finally fix your levels for good when supplements kept failing?

I’m turning 18 soon, and grieving the teenage years I never got to have hit me so hard today.

I grew up in the Middle East with parents who were not always deeply religious, but around the time I was eight or nine, everything changed. They became extremely strict, and heavy religious rules were suddenly imposed on my life.

Even before that shift, I remember craving my father’s attention. As a child, I adored him, but as I grew older, I realized I was never going to receive that love in return so I stopped looking for it.

From a very young age, my autonomy was stripped away. I wasn't allowed to wear what I wanted, show skin, or wear dresses above my ankles. By my teenage years, the pressure turned toward wearing the hijab. I fought back with everything I had because giving in felt like losing my entire identity and sanity. Refusing to comply led to constant conflict, including being forced to transfer out of my private school.

The turning point into total isolation happened in 7th grade. After getting fully ready for a school event, my parents refused to let me go at the last second. The distress of that moment broke something in me. What followed was years of severe depression, particularly during the transition between 8th and 9th grade, where I barely left my house all summer and became completely disconnected from the world.(I genuinely became miserable after that).

Over the years, every single outlet I had was systematically shut down. I loved sports like volleyball, swimming, and going to the gym, but I was forbidden from participating. When I was selected for a drawing competition, or math I LOVE MATH. It's just my thing and no one values my love for these things, they wouldn't let me go. Simple experiences like seeing a movie at the cinema or owning a physical chessboard were denied. Even my intellectual curiosity was policed I wanted to read about politics, but they banned it, dismissing my interests as dangerous or a waste of time. On top of that, my social life was non existent I was never allowed to go on school trips, hang out with friends outside of school, or build normal connections.( I genuinely not even one time hung out with friends ever).
I'm a very very ambitious person it's just me I have the curiosity to learn about everything but seeing they never supported me in anything but not the other way for my siblings GENUINELY HURTS.

While my parents insisted I focus strictly on religious study, I resisted. I remember watching another girl run into her father’s open arms in middle school and feeling a deep, painful ache, realizing I would never know what that felt like. Over time, that pain turned into total emotional detachment and resentment.I don't hate them at all but I would rather see them once a year.

Even now, as I approach 18, they still treat me like a child with no right to my own mind. Every time I stand up against their beliefs or express my own opinions which I have held firmly despite refusing to fit into their standards they dismiss me by asking, "Where did you get that from, social media?"
Recently, after finishing my exams, I officially let go of religion entirely. I cannot align with something that was used as a tool to control me, isolate me, and steal my YOUTH.

Now, standing on the edge of adulthood, I feel the weight of how much time I lost and how far behind I feel socially. But despite everything, the core values I developed as a young teenager justice, personal freedom, and self determination, are stronger than ever. Education is my only path to independence and escaping this environment for good, and even though financial barriers make retaking exams difficult, I am determined to find a way out.

Please if you're reading this from the west understand That it's not so easy for me to leave at 18. i have no idea how I will escape this fked up middle east.

Severe heat intolerance and sudden shortness of breath in the Middle East

Hiiii,
I really need some advice or insight because my body has completely stopped handling heat and sunlight this year, and it’s getting worse. I live in the Middle East, so I’m used to high temperatures, but throughout this entire summer season, I haven't been able to tolerate it at all.

If I step outside during the day for even one minute, my whole body feels like it is burning up internally, I get extremely out of breath almost immediately, and I feel intensely irritated and overwhelmed. It has gotten so severe that I haven't gone outside during daytime for over a month now.

People around me aren't reacting like this, and I was never like this in previous years, so my body is just completely rejecting the heat. Has anyone experienced a change in heat tolerance like this, or does anyone have advice on what might cause this or how to manage it?Worst thing is I live in the middle east I have no ways to avoid the sun other than staying at home.

Honestly, I find it hilarious how often I get downvoted on this app. It makes me wonder if the things I say are actually that outrageous, or if people just love to disagree.
Liiike?It's funny at this point.

Left my religion, but the guilt and weird coincidences are eating me alive. Need advice.

I recently stepped away from religion, but the post leaving guilt is suffocating me.

The morning right after I made the silent decision to leave (I didn't tell anyone), my brother walked up to me saying he dreamt I turned into something evil. It freaked me out. Now I'm spiraling between remembering past "miracles" or answered prayers and feeling like I abandoned the truth even though I know people leaving other faiths experience the exact same thing.

At the same time, I still find myself defending religious people because the ones in my life are genuinely good, but being religious myself felt completely suffocating. I don't know what to feel or how to make sense of all these conflicting emotions.

How do you get past this weird transitional phase where logic and lingering fear are constantly fighting each other?I feel like I might be more of a theist than a atheist or believer to any religion.

I have got to a point of my life I hate every single religion

I’ve reached a point where I feel completely alienated and exhausted by organized religion and the culture surrounding it. Whether it's the hypocrisy, the moral superiority, or the constant urge to police how other people live, it feels like every faith system ends up breeding the same rigid, judgment heavy mindset. Seeing people use their beliefs to push narrow traditional roles or act intellectually superior has completely burned out my tolerance for it, and I'm just fed up with the whole thing, daamn. i grew up in a Muslim society I disliked them alot, No one told me the christians are worse esp the catholic ones they're not just religious but it comes with racism too, How can I escape these people I'm so fed up.

Edit///I never became christian guys I just happned to intract with alot of them.I never liked any religion so when I left islam I didn't convert to any other.

about my high school tutor center guy last night and remembered this insane lore.

Hi everyone,
Ok this is crazy at least to me, one day the results come out of the seniors and that summer It was the summer I would be a senior so in my country it's very important academic year, and I go on insta I see one of the students who got a very high grade alr and he's a very hot boy I go to the comments I saw his account I go on his account watch the highlights and then i check his following I scroll down alot then I see someone's account that catched my attention allloot. I go on the profile and it was public I see the highlights AND BOOM I see the most beautiful eyes ever like I genuinely haven't seen more beautiful eyes in my existence and I'm like whatever ok remember this this is another boy dont mix it ip with the one who got a very high grade, and I have this habit I usually block people If I looked at their highlights people I don't follow ofc I just say oh beautiful eyes and blocked, and ok rn listen as I said 12th grade is a very serious academic year in our country so In the summer I go to a tutor place and when it's time for my dad to pick me up he eventually forgot thag I even exist so my dad was very late I'm sitting on the benches in the garden and I see someone's coming out sooooo beautiful so hot mind u I js saw their side profile and he was wearing a terrible clothe I remember saying in my head what a waste a crazy face card but these terrible outfits, and aftee that I didn't see this guy dor a very long time so I completely forgot he exist, and one day the lesson time switched we had to go to the same room they were studying in so they finished we were waiting for them to come out so we go in, I see him again honestly nothing crazy I just remembered him and this whole time I haven't seen his whole face even ONE TIME I was only seeing his side profile,ok so a long time has passed I go through my blocked list and I'm confused by wjo this is I unblock to see who it is , I go through the highlights again and I'm like hmmm this face look very similar who is it and I kind of recognize a outfit they were wearing I was like NOOO WAY. Bcs We had a group made bu the tutor place I actually looked to see if he was in that group but as much as I remember of he wasnt, I'm shocked but as I said I'm not sure bcs I only saw his side profile before so one dah I go to the tutor place for the first time I saw his whole face and HE WAS WEARING THE WXACT SAME OUTFIT IN THE HIGHLIGHTS then I knew oh that's actually him, I think it was exactly that day or a day after I'm scrolling on tiktok then someone is live comes to my fyp I was just scrolling so I scrolled that too and then I WAS LIKE WAIT WAIT WTF. What was that???? I scroll back it's him. I HAVE NO WORDS RN. I was speechless
Time passes one day they switch the lesson times again and they told us you can come in whatever group you want just for today , I assumed everyone will go to the earlier group bcs there was a lesson aftee that one of a teacher with lots of students so I just chose my own group thinking it would be less crowded and I go in I had 2 girls with me saying oh why did you come so late I don't think there any place left so I knock the door damn mind u it was a big hole THERES ABSOLUTELY NO
PLACE LEFT even th place you walk in is people in it, so I humiliated myself infront all of these people bcs I didnt know what to say it was so full and I look in the very very front of the room theres this guy IMMMM LIKE NOOO (idk I hated seeing him I was always avoiding him) and the teacher tells me to ho bring a chair in the other room so I go and take the chair and I already humiliated myself ( thag ine is along story so let tht go) infront all of these im dying of anxiety I literally cant take the chair out of the other room and I just decided not to go in the I closed theri door and the teacher comes out tell the other 2 girls sitting where did that girl go and one of the staff take the chair for me and I'm sitting one chair awah from this boy I actually was veey stressed and hated it aftee that one day I have 1h rest I'm sitting there I eventually found out he has a gf and she's in this tutor place honestly after that I felt so disgusted and lost all feeling so it was the end of the tutor too some other things happned , so I eventually forgot about this guys till tonight in my a word i cant use in this community he was inwith his gf😂😂😂lol and I remembered everything again I was like wtfff that was crazy I gotta share it with someone

How does my existence trigger people despite being average?

Hi everyone
I want to share something deeply personal that I've caries with me since childhood
For as long as I remember I have had this strange consistent effect on people I trigger them I I don't know I seem to provoke intense negative reactions in others
The confusing part is that I am by all objective metrics a completely avarage person I have never had anything so out of ordinary or boastful that should logically trigger envy or anger
I love myself that now I'm grown I don't think there's anything wrong with me But now that I'm almost 18 I find myself looking back at life wondering why this has always been my reality
When I was younger it didn't make any sense ,even authority figures like teachers seems to dislike or target me why? I had no clue.
And I couldn't be mean to people because I was genuinely born with such a kind heart no matter how much I've tried I never could do things to people knowing I will hurt them ( I have created some strong boundaries with people so I can protect myself nowdays)
But in such a young age people being triggered for absolutely no reason kind of made me wonder alot and took a massive toll on me
Durning early teens years my brain kind of shutted down I became extremely depressed I shut out thr world I was terrified of showing myself to the world and extremely scared of being vulnerable I just stopped getting associated with people much in order to protect myself
Now that I have grown something has shifted I'm not scared anymore I go out and Im loud asf about my unique opinions on things the way I look at life and my hobbies I don't care I'm no longer heartbroken by other peoples action if anyone wanna take advantage of my heart I show them that they can't anymore , I have accepted that my brain and my life operates on a completely different wavelength I actually love everything about myself now
Im not scared to show my different ideas my weaknesses my creativity really no one can use anything against me unless I let them to do it
But bow That I'm going into a new environment with different people despite that I have built a strong boundaries and personality for myself but I'm scared to go back to square one , I still had some very very good friends ,but a really few people would get me

What I really wonder about is what is it about a person's energy vibe or existence that trigger people so much
If anyone else has experienced a life long phenomenon of being a natural trigger for others please share ur experience
How did u navigate it?

Why have I always triggered people? Looking for anyone who shares this lifelong experience.

Hi everyone,
I want to share something deeply personal that I’ve carried with me since childhood.
For as long as I can remember, I have had this strange, consistent effect on people: I trigger them. I don't know what it is about me, but I seem to provoke intense, negative reactions in others.
The confusing part is that I am, by all objective metrics, a completely average person. I have average looks, an average life, and average grades. I’ve never had anything so out-of-the-ordinary or "boastful" that should logically trigger envy or anger.
Let me make one thing clear: I love myself, and I don't think there is anything fundamentally wrong with me. But as I get closer to turning 18, I find myself looking back and wondering why this has always been my reality.
When I was a kid, it made me incredibly sad. I used to wonder why people, even authority figures like teachers, seemed to dislike or target me. Why? I had no clue. I was born a genuinely pure-hearted soul. No matter how hard I've tried to be mean in my life, it just doesn't work—it’s not in my blood. I have always been a happy, loving, and deeply caring person.
But carrying a heart like that while being surrounded by people who were constantly triggered by my existence took a massive toll on me. During my early teenage years, my brain just kind of shut down. I became extremely depressed. I shut out the world, terrified of showing who I was or being vulnerable. I built a massive protective armor around myself just to survive without getting hurt.
Now that I'm almost 18, something has shifted. I feel more alive than ever. I’ve reached a point where I’m no longer heartbroken by other people's reactions, and I’m not scared of anyone's opinion. I do what I want, and I say my unique thoughts and hobbies out loud. I have accepted that my brain and my life operate on a completely different wavelength than a "normal" person's—and I actually like that about myself. I’m not scared to show my abilities or my weaknesses, because I know no one can use them against me unless I let them.
Still, as I prepare to step into a completely new environment, those old memories creep back. I sometimes feel a lingering fear that I might go back to square one. I have rarely met people who truly "get" me or understand how I feel (though I am incredibly grateful for the few I do have).
I genuinely wonder: What is it about a person's energy, vibe, or existence that triggers people so intensely when they aren't even trying to?
If anyone else has experienced this lifelong phenomenon of being a "natural trigger" for others, please share your experience. How did you navigate it, and how did you move forward with your life?
Thank you for reading.

First year of EE in my home country , then transferring abroad has anyone actually pulled this off?

Is it realistic to study Electrical Engineering in my home country for my first year, excel academically, and then apply for international transfer scholarships? Specifically:

  1. Do international universities offer good scholarships for transfer students, or are they mostly reserved for first year freshmen?

  2. I actually be able to transfer my first year credits, or should I expect to repeat the year?
I can't apply abroad right now due to personal reasons, so starting in my own country is my only option. Has anyone successfully pulled this off?

Need Calculus 1,2,3 practice book recs that actually make you think

Hey everyone,
I’m starting Electrical Engineering soon and heading into Calc 1, 2, and 3. I used to struggle with calculus back in high school until I realized my algebra and trig foundations were shaky. I went back, fixed them, and ended up loving the conceptual side of it amd I became very very good at math even if stupid arithmetic mistakes still cost me some points on the national exam unfortunately.
I want to make sure my understanding is completely solid before moving from one level to the next. I really hate repetitive, copy-paste math problems. I want resources or textbooks that actually challenge you and force you to think deeply about the concepts.
Does anyone have good recommendations for Calc 1, 2, or 3 books that focus on the 'why' rather than just mindless formula drilling?
Thank you

The Psychology of My Complete Lack of Jealousy

Something I’ve realized about myself is that I never get jealous. I’ve never felt threatened by someone else's major success, nor have I envied people who got what I wanted, owned nicer things, or excelled at skills I’m working on. While I know not getting jealous isn't a bad thing, it’s actually made me wonder why I don't experience it. Since jealousy is a basic, normal human emotion, I genuinely wonder what's going on in my head that prevents me from feeling it.

Starting Electrical Engineering what do I actually need to know?

I’m about to start Electrical Engineering and I’m honestly a bit nervous. I’m solid with math and physics, but I know that’s not enough. Does anyone have actual advice on how to survive the program? I’m looking for what not to do, how to really understand the concepts instead of just grinding, and how to manage the workload without burning out. Any tips for someone just starting?
