New ArkPro Ultra…

I wound up giving my previous ArkPro Ultra to my nephew last week. (I was visiting my sister in LA and he took a “shine” to it, so to speak. 😉)

As such, I had to order a new one - in black this time around - and now I’m back to square one with the ArkBeat. 😒 (I made it up to blue with my OG Pro. Ugh.)

Anyway, I’m digging the stealth look, even if it makes it that much harder (impossible) to find in the dark.

Dark Star on a Sunny Day…

Been a while since I grabbed this one from the ol’ watch box.

Still love it!

As close to Italy as my PAM1114 has ever gotten…

Pictured at Eataly in Lower Manhattan. (Yes, I’d much rather be in Florence… 😒)

RedBar LE II for Sunday…

Wearing my Divers RedBar LE II to close out the week. Whatcha’ll got on as we prepare for Monday?

CF3 to close out the work week…

Still my favorite chrono, even after all these years.

(For those who are wondering, this is the “Collector’s Forum 3”, which was released in a series of 250 pieces back in 2014. It was based on the Spitfire Flyback Chrono of the time, but it swapped out the ardoise dial for a matte black one with ecru lume, and ditched the altimeter-style open date window. It also added a soft-iron inner case, which was oddly missing from the standard Spitfire.)

Late night shopping…

…with the Shunbun.

If I’m stuck at Whole Foods after hours with the missus, might as well have something nice to on record the interminable passage of time. 🤷🏽‍♂️

The (GMW-B5000) vacation continues…

After San Francisco (Muir Woods and Napa), now we’re in LA, chillin’ poolside.

So… are we certain it can get wet?

Just wanna make sure because this pool is 9’ deep. 😬

EDIT: In case it wasn’t clear, this post was meant tongue in cheek. In the 12 odd years I’ve owned this watch it has been in the Atlantic, the Pacific, the Mediterranean, the Indian Ocean, numerous lakes and rivers, a zillion pools, and more hot tubs than I care to remember (not recommended, btw).

TCM on the Coast…

I’m currently traveling along the California coast with the family, and the TCM got the nod for “vacation watch”.

(Pics taken at Montana Beach and JV Fitzgerald Marine Reserve near SF.)

NGL, I want one…

Spied this on the wrist of a gentleman at a party I was attending, and yes, now I want one.

It’ll go great with my other “plastic” AP. 😉

G-Shock x Muir Woods… (GMW-B5000 content)

Spent the day hiking through Muir Woods National Park with my daughter.

As you can see she inherited my good taste in watches. 😉

BAPE x Stussy…

Sunday is for the frogs.

How are you all closing out the weekend?

IWC SWFA FTW…

Rocking my “Special Watch for Aviators” to close out the work week.

What are y’all wearing as we segue into the weekend?

I love Brazilians…

Okay, make that Brazilian Frogmen. (Even that came out wrong… 🤔)

Anyway, what’s your favorite Froggie?

AWU3 in its element…

…sort of.

I don’t climb mountains or run ultra marathons, but my AWU has been a constant gym companion over the past year, and since I’ve had it (I upgraded from an AWU1 last September) I’ve dropped 50lbs and I’m keeping it off.

Of course I’ve also cut out the booze and started eating right, but it’s nice to have a companion keeping notes and helping you meet milestones.

P.S. - The Milanese Loop is incredible. When I bought the 3 I also picked up a black Ocean band and a black Alpine Loop band, but I never wear them, the Milanese is just that damn good.

Rangebeast…

Without a doubt this has to be the most unhinged watch that G-Shock has ever made. Ridiculous size aside, the labyrinthine UI (controlled via a thumb wheel), the onboard GPS positioning, dual charging structure (which requires a proprietary attachment and ceramic caseback), Bluetooth, a full ABC sensor suite (with sunrise/sunset, tide, and moonphase) all conveyed via their first MIP display (under sapphire), and held fast to the wrist with a carbon fiber-reinforced strap, make this the ultimate “sure you can, but why?” G-Shock.

I’m not sure who exactly this watch was marketed towards, aside from G’nuts like us, but I’m sure glad they made it.

Any other Rangebeast fans here?

OG GW-5000 FTW

Even after all these years (I bought this back when they were JDM-only) the GW-5000 remains my platonic ideal of what a G-Shock should be.

Sure, I have plenty of other Gs that have more features, or are made out of “better” materials – indeed, my GMW-B5000TCM-1 is probably my favorite to date – but there’s something about a black resin case/strap, steel screwback, and EL panel that’s hard to beat. Toss in Tough Solar and MB6, and it’s off to the races. 🙌🏽😉

What about y’all? What’s your ideal G?

P.S. - I should point out here that in spite of its relatively brand new appearance, this guy has definitely seen its fair share of action over the years. There’s a scratch on the crystal, some more on the caseback, and it’s wearing a replacement case/band. 👍🏽

Cool shot of a Ti-Lock…

…to counter the absolutely atrocious weather we’ve been having here on the East Coast.

(I took this pic during the absolutely atrocious winter we just endured, but now I’m kinda missing the cold. Go figure.)

How many BT Gs you guys running?

Also, since we’re here talking, what are your thoughts on the current state of the app?
