A warning to any doctors getting suckered by DearDoc

So I just hung up on a sales call that was supposed to be something different and I wanted to warn the subreddit about it and any future doctors that google DearDoc.

Last week I got a call from someone claiming to be WebMD and saying my practice was selected to be one of two practices featured in the area. I said I already worked with WebMD as a featured profile and he said this was something different and it was free listing and he'd set me up with a follow-up phone call with his account manager the following week.

Today I got a call from her and she immediately started a Zoom meeting where she said she was with a company called DearDoc. She started telling me how many patients she would get me every month through their AI chatbot and having me listed as a recommended doctor on WebMD/Healthgrades/Vitals, etc. I immediately saw it was a sales call and went into "uh huh" mode. She told me the price was 1795 a month and then 1295 a month if I signed up for a full year. I told her I did most of the stuff she was selling myself through AI and she started negging me. She was telling me how everything we were doing was bad. It was laughable how rude her script required her to be. I kept saying I had to go and she kept just moving on to the next slide. Ultimately, I just hung up on her which I never do because I try not to be impolite to anyone.

I ended up looking more into DearDocs and it's just full of negative feedback. Locking people into contracts, not delivering results, etc. It's wild that WebMD and Healthgrades are partnering with a company that is as belligerent and predatory as this. The fact they got my cell phone number means it was probably directly from WebMD. It reflects super poorly on them.

[Fisher] Exclusive: Mark Cuban Files In Court Against Mavs 'Adversarial' Patrick Dumont: “A "handshake deal" sours as the former owner alleges a breach of contract, accusing his successor of freezing him out of arena financing and basketball operations.”

Source: https://roundtable.io/sports/nba/mavericks/news/exclusive-mark-cuban-files-in-court-against-mavs-adversarial-patrick-dumont

DALLAS - Former Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban has filed an application in Dallas County District Court for a "pre-suit deposition'' involving the franchise's plan to finance a new arena - with specific charges being made against new Mavs governor Patrick Dumont.

Companies owned by Cuban on Tuesday filed what is known as a "Rule 202'' application, which is a pre-suit request to conduct some discovery (e.g. deposition and production of documents) to investigate potential claims against "Arena Development Intermediate LLC,'' an entity ostensibly created by Dumont and the Mavericks to facilitate the development of the new arena and related opportunities.

The paperwork on the filing, obtained by MavsRoundtable.com, reads, "Petitioner seeks information regarding the financing of a new Dallas Mavericks arena at Valley View and the exploration and identification of locations for the new arena, among other things.''

Suggested by the filing is the idea that Cuban is being shut out of all decisions and information related to the new arena in a way that conflicts with his "existing contracts and rights.''

Reads the filing in part: "The Petitioners’ potential claims arise from and relate to these purposeful contacts; specifically, ADI’s pursuit of business opportunities related to the Dallas Mavericks and their new arena may improperly interfere with Petitioners’ existing Texas contracts and related rights.''

Cuban specifically names Dumont in the filing, with the paperwork noting that ADI's "non-disclosure is consistent with Dumont’s adversarial business practices and history of failing to uphold his end of the bargain.''

Part of Cuban's "bargain,'' as the filing notes: A "handshake deal'' as part of his December 2023 sale worth $3.5 billion to Dumont and the Adelson family that included "the clear division of responsibilities: Cuban would retain authority over the Mavericks’ basketball operations, while Dumont would oversee the business side of the franchise, including real estate development and the pursuit of an integrated, destination resort casino in Dallas.''

Later, per Cuban's claim in writing, "Dumont did not fulfill his end of this agreement, and I did not retain control over basketball operations. Instead, former General Manager Nico Harrison was put in charge, leading to the trade of Luka Dončić.

"When I discussed this with Dumont over the phone, he told me: "Why would I give you control of a $4 billion asset?"

The original partnership, the filing states, came in part because, as Cuban himself writes, "I supported the (Adelson family's) Las Vegas Sands' effort because I believed that having a Venetian-style destination resort would turn Dallas into the largest tourist destination in the United States and be worth potentially $10 billion.

"This joint effort created both an established business relationship and a trusted personal relationship ...''

Those "relationships'' are obviously now shattered. ... and due to possibly to be revisited in a courtroom.

So we have some nice trees by the fence on our yard. Our neighbor keeps complaining about the branches so we've been pruning them back and even had our yard guy speak to her so he could do it based on what she was saying. She just messaged this today and I'm not sure how to respond. How do you all think I should respond?

"I have reached out multiple times over the past year regarding the trees from your property extending into my yard, and I have not received a response. I’ve also asked your tenants, but nothing has been properly addressed.

Seems you and the tenants ignoring the issue !

The branches are now overgrowing into my yard and onto both my roof and your roof. I have trimmed them myself a couple of times, but they grow back quickly.

Today, while trying to trim them again, I fell from a ladder and injured both of my legs. I am also experiencing severe back and leg pain and will be seeing a doctor today.

For safety reasons, I cannot continue handling this, and I also cannot keep paying around $600 every couple of months to deal with an issue coming from your property.

This is now a serious safety and liability concern. You will be responsible for any related costs and damages.

Please arrange for proper maintenance of the trees within the next 7 days so they no longer extend into my yard or onto the roofs. If this is not resolved, I will proceed with my attorney to pursue legal action, including the possibility of placing a lien on the property."

Our group negotiating for our next contract and I’m trying to figure out what’s normal for Hospitalists. I work in a big city in Texas and one of my friends works at a similar large community/academic center in the city. Their Hospitalists average about 4300 RVU and make 330k or so. I moonlight a lot and produced over 8200 RVU but my take home was 454k.

So now I’m wondering what’s normal and what we should expect to be making.
