Advice about my husbands broken / not broken hand
My husband 45M, 200lbs, smoker, 6’1, is a recovering alcoholic. Hasn’t had a drink in years. (so proud of him!!) but when he was drinking, he would have a temper. He has punched a couple brick walls in his day. One of the last times he did it, he broke his hand, the bone under his pinky finger. Never went to the dr. Again, this was years ago. It healed itself and dumbass did the same thing to it.
Now. There’s this big lump where it was broken (I’m guessing it fused itself back together after all this time) it still hurts at times and it’s not a daily issue but he doesn’t have the same usage of his hand he used to.
I think he should go to the dr and see if they can re-break it so they can fix it the correct way and maybe that could help? After all these years tho (13 plus yrs) would it really make a difference or have any point to it? Or possibly make it worse? Basically, what I’m asking is if he should just let it be, or is it worth having it looked at? The bump on his hand is pretty big, u can def tell it’s there without having to compare the other hand or look hard at all. He has pain issues, tho it’s not everyday.
