[ForHire] I'll build and manage the community around your indie game

I'm an indie game developer + 3D artist, and I'm looking to work with a small indie team that needs someone to take care of the community + player side of their game.

Working with Aetherfall on steam right now but still accepting other jobs

I am currently working with Aetherfall on steam but I am accepting another jobs since it's not full time

Instead of just posting your game occasionally, I'd help build the community from the ground up.

What I can handle:

• Create and set up a Discord server

• Set up channels, roles, rules, bots and basic structure

• Create a subreddit for the game when it makes sense

• Find relevant communities where your game actually belongs

• Promote the game on Reddit and other relevant communities

• Create posts and discussion topics around the game

• Engage with players and answer questions

• Welcome new community members

• Moderate the Discord server

• Keep the community active with discussions, updates, polls, events, etc.

• Collect player feedback and recurring complaints

• Report useful feedback back to the development team

• Play the game myself so I actually understand what I'm promoting

• Help identify what players are confused about or interested in

• Monitor community sentiment and common questions

• Help organize playtests / feedback sessions

• Keep an eye out for potential community issues

• Give you regular updates on what is happening in the community

The idea is simple:

You focus on making the game. I'll help build the place where your players gather around it.

I'm not looking to manage 20 games at once. I'd rather work closely with a small number of indie projects and actually become familiar with the game and its players.

I'm also a game developer myself, so I'm familiar with the indie-dev side of things and the kind of feedback developers actually need.

I'm currently looking for a project to start with.

If you're interested, comment with your game/project or DM me with some details about it.

I'm open to discussing a small paid trial first so we can both see if we're a good fit.

Aetherfall's steam page is finally live - no AI was used

As you read in the title our game finally made it to steam ,it doesn't have a playable demo right now

But we will open a playtest these days

About the game : Aetherfall is an elemental post-apocalypse extraction RPG set on a modern Earth where technology has failed and elemental power rules. Master fire, earth, air, and water, combine them into new elements, and risk everything as you fight to survive and grow stronger.

Wishlist the game now to be notified when the playtest is up https://store.steampowered.com/app/3678790/Aetherfall/

I'll test your SaaS and give you honest feedback

I've been doing game testing/QA for indie developers, and I'm looking to expand that into testing SaaS products and web apps.

If you're building a SaaS and want someone who isn't familiar with your product to go through it like a new user, I'd be happy to test it.

I'll look at things like:

\- First impression

\- Onboarding

\- How easy it is to understand what the product does

\- Confusing UI/UX

\- Bugs and broken features

\- Things that feel annoying or unnecessarily complicated

\- Where I got stuck or wasn't sure what to do

\- Overall user experience

I'll give you a detailed report with screenshots and clear reproduction steps when I find an issue, rather than just saying "looks good."

I'm currently building up experience in SaaS testing, so I'm keeping the offer very affordable/free for a limited number of projects while I build a portfolio.

If you're working on a SaaS and want a fresh pair of eyes on it, drop a comment or DM me with what you're building.

I want to become the person behind the community of your indie game

I'm an indie game developer + 3D artist, and I'm looking to work with a small indie team that needs someone to take care of the community side of their game.

I'm not talking about just making a few promotional posts and disappearing. I can help you build the community from the ground up. I can set up a Discord server, create the channels/roles/rules, set up a subreddit for the game if it makes sense, and then actually work on getting people into those communities.

Once people start joining, I can handle the day-to-day side too: talking with players, answering questions, starting discussions, keeping the Discord active, moderating it, collecting feedback and bringing useful player reactions back to the development team.

I'll also play the game myself. I think that's important because I don't want to be promoting a game I barely understand. If players are confused about something, complaining about a certain feature, or getting excited about something, I want to actually understand why.

I can also help with playtests, community events, polls, feedback sessions, game updates and finding relevant places to promote the game without just spamming the same link everywhere.

Basically, you focus on developing the game while I take care of the place where your players discover it, talk about it and hopefully stick around.

I'm looking to work closely with one or two projects, rather than taking on a bunch of games at once. If you're working on an indie game and need someone to build and manage the community around it, DM me with some information about your project. I'm also happy to start with a small paid trial so you can see what I can actually do before committing to anything longer.

Steam devs: give me your game/demo to playtest

I’m looking for Steam games and demos to playtest, especially indie/solo-dev projects.

I’ll actually PLAY the game instead of giving you:

>

You can send me:
• Steam demos
• Early Access games
• Upcoming/released indie games
• Short prototypes if they’re playable through Steam

Free playtest

I’ll give you something you usually DON’T get from a quick playtest:

A fresh-player perspective.

I’ll play without you explaining how the game is supposed to work, then tell you what I naturally understood, where I got confused, what grabbed my attention, and where I started losing interest.

I’ll also point out:
• Confusing moments
• Difficulty
• Bugs/weird interactions
• What felt genuinely fun

Paid playtest — much deeper

If you want more than general feedback, I offer detailed playtesting focused on the whole player experience, including:

• FTUE / first-time user experience
• Tutorial & onboarding
• UI / UX
• Controls & game feel
• Progression & pacing
• Difficulty curve
• Level/mission flow
• Player motivation & retention
• Rewards and feedback
• Confusing or frustrating moments
• Bugs and usability issues
• Where players may quit
• Concrete improvement suggestions

You get a structured playtest report, not just a paragraph saying whether I liked the game.

If you're interested, drop your Steam link + tell me the ONE thing you most want tested.

If you don't know what needs testing, that's fine too — I'll approach it as a completely fresh player.

I’ll pick games from the comments and start playing, if it's a paid playtest send a DM

if you want to help me with my journey and try the game ,it's free ,play in browser : https://voxel-dev.itch.io/try-not-to-fall some of your time may make someone's entire day ,thanks again (:

I made a game to see how far I could push a stupidly simple mechanic

I started with a really simple idea: a ball, some platforms, and one goal — don't fall, but the tweak is the ball grows over time and you should reach the finish line before the ball explodes

It turned into Try Not to Fall, a small Godot project with multiple handcrafted levels, different platform behaviors, and physics-based movement with over 500 lines of code

Since I'm an indie dev myself, and this was only a small game for the gmtk game jam I figured the project could be more useful if I didn't just keep the source code sitting on my PC.

So I made the full source code available for anyone who wants to:

  • Learn from a small, complete Godot project
  • See how I handled the player physics
  • Take the systems and build on them
  • Use it as a starting point for their own prototype
  • Just tear it apart and see how another indie dev structured things 😅

Game + source code

https://voxel-dev.itch.io/try-not-to-fall?ref=redditrgodot

I'm especially interested in hearing from other devs: what would you change or improve if you were taking this project further?

And if you want to hang around, I also have a small Discord server where I share my projects, assets, and dev stuff

No pressure though — feedback on the project itself is more than enough.

I’ll playtest your indie game and give you honest feedback — FREE or paid

Hey everyone,

I'm an indie dev myself, and lately I've been doing playtesting for other indie developers. I figured I'd offer it here too, since getting fresh eyes on a game can be pretty difficult when you're working on it alone.

I'm currently open to testing PC, Linux, Windows, Android, web, and even CLI games.

Free playtesting

For free playtests, I'm mainly looking at short demos and smaller games.

I'll play through your game and give you my honest impressions, focusing on things like:

  • First impressions
  • Obvious bugs or issues
  • Confusing moments
  • Difficulty
  • General player experience

For longer games or deeper testing, I offer paid playtesting with more time and a much more detailed report.

Paid playtesting

The paid option is aimed at developers who want more thorough feedback. Depending on the package, I can provide:

  • Longer testing sessions
  • Detailed written reports
  • Bugs with reproduction steps
  • Onboarding / tutorial feedback
  • Difficulty and pacing analysis
  • Specific improvement suggestions
  • Gameplay recording
  • More detailed observations throughout the session

So if you want someone to properly spend time going through your game and documenting what they find, that's what the paid testing is for.

One other thing I've been putting together is a small Discord space just for indie developers.

It's not a playtester server. It's mainly a place for devs to talk, exchange feedback, and collaborate when there's an opportunity. I also share my own games and assets there.

So if you're into low-poly assets, want feedback from other devs, or want me to test something you've made, you're welcome to join:

https://discord.gg/CsdzF8X4T

I'm generally more active there, so there's a good chance I'll notice your project there sooner than if your message gets buried here.

If you'd like me to test your game, comment "interested" and DM me, or contact me directly on Discord.

Looking for indie games to playtest — Free or Paid

Hey everyone!

I'm voxel dev. I've started doing playtesting for other developers because I know how difficult it can be to get honest, detailed feedback on your game.

I'm open to testing PC/Windows, Android, web, Linux, and CLI games.

I can give feedback on things like:

  • First impressions & overall experience
  • Onboarding / FTUE
  • Difficulty & pacing
  • Bugs and reproduction steps
  • Confusing or frustrating parts
  • UI/UX
  • 3–5 concrete improvement ideas
  • Structured written reports
  • Screenshots/recordings when useful

Free playtesting

I'm currently taking some games for free playtests, especially shorter games and demos.

You'll get honest feedback and a basic structured report.

Paid playtesting

For longer or more detailed testing I also offer paid playtesting starting at $5/hour

Paid testing can include a more detailed report covering bugs, difficulty/pacing, onboarding, UI/UX, and concrete improvement suggestions.

I'm mainly interested in indie and Steam games, prototypes, demos, and early builds.

If you'd like me to test your game, comment below or DM me with the game, platform, and approximate playtime.

I'm also building a small Discord community to keep track of playtests and make it easier to stay in contact with developers

Since I'm also an indie dev I'll be sharing my own games and free low-poly assets there as well.

I'll share the invite with developers who want to continue working with me.

That's it! If you'd like another pair of eyes on your game, drop it in the comments or DM me. All types of games are welcome! :)

post your game here and i will play it and leave feedback !! for free

hey everyone!

i've been wanting to discover some new indie games on itch lately, so i figured i'd combine that with something i've been doing for other devs — giving honest feedback.

i'm an indie dev myself, so i know how useful it can be to have someone actually sit down and play your game instead of just saying "looks cool" 😅

i can play pretty much anything — Android, browser, Linux, Windows, even CLI games.

i usually enjoy strategy, idle, crafting, exploration, RPGs, city builders, survival, horror, roguelikes, platformers, and a bunch of other genres. The only things I usually don't play are VNs and 1-bit games.

if you'd like some feedback, post your itch page below and tell me a little about the game. I'll pick some to play and share what I think — what I enjoyed, what confused me, things that felt frustrating, bugs I noticed, etc.

if you want a more detailed playtest / QA report, you can DM me about that too, I'll happily give it a proper playthrough and write everything down.(paid)

i'm mainly doing this because i enjoy discovering what other devs are making and helping where i can.

anyway, drop your games below 👇

you want a feedback on your game ? i can help (for free)

hi everyone!

i'm an indie dev too, so i understand how hard it can be to get honest feedback on your game.

today i want to play some of your games and give you my honest feedback. Android, web, Linux, Windows, CLI... pretty much anything

my favorite genres are strategy, idle, crafting, exploration, RPG, city builder, survival, horror, roguelike, platformer, and honestly almost anything except VNs and 1-bit games.

if you just want some honest feedback, and your game doesn't have a frustrating setup, drop it in the comments below.

and if you want a full report / QA playtest from start to finish, feel free to DM me, since i am also experienced game tester, If I find your game interesting, I'll play it and write up a full report.

i'm not really looking for anything in return. i just want to help other devs and discover some cool games along the way.

looking forward to seeing what you guys are working on :)

I’m releasing the full source code of my Godot game ( CC0 )

I thought this might be useful for other Godot developers, especially if you're learning 3D or working on your own small game.

Instead of giving you a few random scripts or isolated examples, I'm giving you the actual complete project I used to make the game.

🎮 Try Not to Fall — Full Godot Source

You get:

• The complete Godot project
• All the GDScript source code
• Player movement (500+ lines of code of custom physics)
• Gameplay mechanics
• Level/scene setup
• UI and menus
• Game flow and scene management
• A working project you can open, inspect, modify and learn from

You can modify the code and use it commercially in your own games.

The idea is simple: rather than spending hours figuring out how different systems fit together, you can open a finished project and see how everything is actually connected.

You can use it as:

A starting point for your own project
A learning resource
Something to experiment with and modify
A base for your own game

And it's only $5.

If you're learning Godot and want to see how a complete small 3D game is structured, I think you'll get a lot more value from this than a collection of isolated tutorials.

the source code (you can try the game in the browser) : https://voxel-dev.itch.io/try-not-to-fall

note : the source code is actively updated

The purchase gives you a commercial license to use the source code, but does not transfer ownership of the Try Not to Fall IP. Third-party assets remain under their original licenses.

Indie developers: what do you usually look for in a playtester?

I've recently started doing game playtesting and writing structured reports for indie games.

Instead of only giving a general opinion, I focus on things like:

  • Where players get confused
  • Difficulty spikes
  • Onboarding problems
  • Pacing
  • UI/UX issues
  • Bugs and reproduction steps
  • Specific improvements that could make the game better

I'm currently looking for more indie games to test while building my testing portfolio,so what make the testing worth it in your opinion ?

anyways, i am also an indie game developer trying to cover his steam fees so If you're working on a game and want another pair of eyes on it, feel free to Dm me.or if you want free playtest I may be able to give it a look when I have time, just comment your game below (:

Offering detailed paid playtesting — accepting only 3 developers this time

Hi everyone!

EDIT : only 1 slot remaining

A few days ago I made a post here offering playtesting, and I was genuinely surprised by the response. It led to dozens of games to test, and I've spent a lot of time playing them and writing detailed feedback reports.

Because of that workload, I'm only opening 3 paid playtesting slots right now so I can give each project the attention it deserves.

I'm an indie game developer myself, so I don't just point out bugs—I look at your game from both a player's and a developer's perspective.

My reports can include:

  • First impressions
  • Onboarding & tutorial feedback
  • Enjoyment and engagement
  • Difficulty and game balance
  • Player confusion and frustration points
  • Bugs and technical issues
  • UI/UX observations
  • Progression and pacing
  • Retention (what makes players keep playing or quit)
  • Clear, actionable improvement suggestions
  • Overall rating and summary

I can playtest on:

  • Windows
  • Linux
  • Browser/Web games
  • Multiple devices when applicable

I don't write generic feedback like "it's fun" or "it's good." My goal is to explain why something works, why it doesn't, and what changes are most likely to improve the player experience.

If you don't feel my report provides useful, actionable value for your game, you don't have to pay.

If you're interested, send me a DM with:

  • A short description of your game
  • The platform (Windows, Linux, Browser, etc.)
  • Approximately how long you'd like me to play

Only 3 slots are available, and once they're filled, I'll close them until I finish the current reports.

looking for free playtest?

If you'd simply like some free feedback, feel free to comment your game below instead of sending a DM. I can't promise I'll be able to play every game, but whenever I have free time, I'll pick some from the comments and leave my feedback.

Paid playtests are prioritized, but I still enjoy helping indie developers whenever I can.

Thanks, and I look forward to trying your games!
