Doug Ford's government is necropolitics. They decide who dies. Cyclists, drug users, etc.

Fun fact: Pierre Trudeau met his wife when she was 18 and married her when she was 22 and he was 51.

Guess we are lucky Epstien wasn't active in the 70s.

As a 50 yo male myself, this is fucked up. Eighteen year olds are still effectively children from my pov.

Took some nodes to a festival in NB

Was thrilled to see other nodes pop up. I texted them random messages. They replied. I was prepared to feel like a dork and not see any nodes. Next year I'm bringing nodes to give away and going to tell people on the fb page if they see a dude dancing with an ohm's law totem. The festival (futureforest.ca) is solidly outside cell phone range so I think it's a great test site.

How do mortgages work with a devalued currency?

Do those lucky enough to get paid in or have invested in western currency just get to pay off in a peso value that is massively devalued relative to their dollar income?

Carney caves on the Gordie Howe bridge.

From twitter:

>Here are some of the details on what Canada had to give up to open the Gordie Howe Bridge, as per a Canadian government source. For the first 15 years, Canada gets 50% of toll profits and the other 50% goes into a regional "economic development fund." What that fund does and who runs, is not clear Under the previous agreement, Canada was to receive 100% of toll profit until they were made whole on the $6.4B they spent to build the bridge, which Michigan/the US contributed $0. The agreement also says it could be 50+ years before Canada was whole, that timeline is now longer. The Americans will have to agree if Canada wants to increase the bridge tolls by more than 10%, or lower them below compared regional averages. That clause helps out the owners of the Ambassador Bridge, the Maroun family, who have donated to the Trump administration and previously to US ambassador to Canada Pete Hoekstra, to try and stop the new bridge from opening #cdnpoli

Thoughts on the youth paid in Toronto to commit violent acts against the embassy and synagogues?

The context missing from all these stories - as they desperately try to create a narrative to implicate Iran - is that Mossad, less than a year ago, was paying youth in Iran, with crypto, to commit violent acts. Same Mossad that interfered in French and New York elections.

Israel is human cancer.

Proposed formula might not offer equal property tax relief to all, says Fredericton treasurer

Seems like these people should be paying extra road taxes?? They want to live on the far edge of town services and have us covering the extra? Bs.

Heading out for a trip this weekend and I see environment Canada weather broadcasts have ceased. One more service gone.

Not a big deal I guess, I'm sure only a few people were aware the broadcasts service existed. Still feels like death by a 1000 cuts.

The shortwave time-signal also ceased broadcasting this spring.

I'd be ok with modernizations if we were also moving new services like sovereign satellite service or any sort of spectrum and telecom reform, but we aren't.

What are we doing with the newly released spectrum too?
