His parents also visited and met my father. Things looked serious enough that wedding preparations were being discussed. Gold had been made for the wedding, money had been saved, and from the outside it looked like both sides were moving toward marriage.

However, for the past month, they apparently haven't been talking at all.

My sister doesn't share much about her personal life with the family, so we don't know exactly what happened. Recently, my parents tried calling the guy directly, but he isn't picking up their calls. We suspect he may be avoiding them because of Truecaller and knows who is calling.

The hardest part is seeing my sister struggle. She tries not to show it, but it's obvious she's hurting. She cries, gets frustrated, shouts sometimes, and avoids discussing the issue. Her mother is extremely worried and stressed because she has no idea what is happening either.

We're stuck in a strange situation where a relationship that seemed headed toward marriage suddenly appears to have stopped, and nobody in the family knows the real reason.

Has anyone been through something similar? How should family members support someone who refuses to open up about what's wrong? Should my parents keep trying to contact the guy, or would that make things worse?**
