Dread Delusion worth it?

This game looks amazing. How is it? I really like the aesthetic and the surreal vibe from some clips I’ve seen of it.

Never played anything like it. I’ve seen comparisons to Morrowind which I haven’t played.

I’ve heard the gameplay isn’t great, which I don’t mind. I love some games despite bad or repetitive gameplay, as long as the strengths outweigh it.

Speaking of strengths I’ve see lots of praise for the exploration. Is it that good? Exploring is my favorite part of my favorite RPGs, that or the writing.

Edit: bought it. Having a great time. Combat is as I expected but at least it’s easy so far.

Dread Delusion or AI Limit

I’ve seen some trailers of Dread Delusion and it looks incredible with its surreal world. Never played a game like it, closed I’ve played is maybe Oblivion. I love the comments I’ve been hearing about its exploration and worldbuilding. I dive deep into worldbuilding if it’s good, read all lore text, talk to all NPCs.

As for AI limit I’m a fan of soulslikes, especially ones with good level design and exploration which I’ve heard it has. The only thing I’m worried about is the atmosphere, the world design looks a little forgettable and repetitive. But it also kind of looks like nier which is one of my favs of all time due to it melancholic atmosphere.

Which should I get?

Games with exploration and level design similar to Control?

Really love the vertical and tight level design of Control. With all the nooks and crannies, the very rewarding side paths and secrets.

Any games you guys know that are similar?

Games that fully utilize the gaming medium to deliver unforgettable narratives

Like Nier Automata, Disco Elysium, Outer Wilds.

One example is Nier Automata with its multiple playthroughs and perspectives that add new context to the story and world.

How would you rank the story and soundtrack of Lies of P amongst similar thematic games?

Feel like these games are very similar in themes and general vibes/atmosphere. Thoughtful, artistic, philosophical, melancholic. Three games that set the bar in terms of storytelling.

And all are regarded as masterpieces, all are revered for their beautiful soundtracks.

For those who’ve played these three games, where would you rank Lies of Ps story and soundtrack amongst them?

Nioh and Team Ninja don’t get enough credit for creating a new subgenre: Nioh-like

Games that blend soulslike with character action games. Combining the freedom of player expression with the boss oriented approach of souls.

For example Khazan, Black Myth Wukong, Stellar Blade. Of course all the modern Team Ninja games like Rise of the Ronin and Wo Long. You wouldn’t cal these soulslikes, but they also aren’t pure CAG.

They are Nioh likes. Games that take after the innovative Nioh formula.

And Team Ninja deserves credit. They are arguably as influential as Fromsoft is right now. In fact I’d argue a lot of the credit Fromsoft is given Team Ninja actually deserved. For example Stellar Blade. Many call it a souls inspired game. Nope, it’s inspired by Nioh.

Lies of P has had AI Art for years without disclosing it On Steam.

Text-to-image ai models existed before Lies of P released in late 2023. For example Stable Diffusion and DALL-E. Laying that out there since I know some will ask if it even existed back then.

Which game has better exploration, Crimson Desert or Elden Ring?

Two open world games revered for 10/10 exploration. Two games considered modern masterpieces by players.

However which one has better exploration? Which is more wondrous, which has more unforgettable moments?
