Bro how do people still screw this up

I just don’t understand HOW people will somehow manage to cross over into your lane during a double right turn or a double left turn despite there being a literal dotted white line separating the turning lanes from one another…

I live in an area with a good number of intersections that have double turn lanes (mind you, these intersections all have a dotted white line to separate the turning lanes form one another) and I have frequent encounters with people who will mindlessly cross over the dotted line mid turn and then I get cut off. I also see this happen to other people just as often

It makes you wonder if they need to start making these dotted lines bright flashing lights instead of pavement markings because lord have mercy

Persistent pixelated Apple CarPlay issue

I have a 2019 Honda civic and for a few months now, I have been having an ongoing issue with the graphics becoming all weird looking when I’m connected to Apple CarPlay in my car. To better explain, the screen becomes all pixelated and then the colors also look washed out. When this happens, it’s completely random and it isn’t triggered by anything specific (for an example: using a certain app on CarPlay such as Spotify). Anyways, some days my CarPlay will do this to me, meanwhile some days it will be completely fine🤷🏼‍♂️

However, I did notice that whenever this happens, if I click out of Apple CarPlay, the graphics look completely fine on my car’s display system (such as the Home Screen).

I can’t tell if this is caused by some sort of issue with my car, or if it is an Apple related CarPlay issue :/

Do people just not leave distance between them and the car in front of them anymore?

The pics I provided are from just a single 30 minute drive today. Also, the pics were taken while I was stopped at a red light (in which is the topic of this post).

Anyways, I’ve noticed that while I’m stopped at a red light, I will have absolutely no one behind me for a bit but then suddenly, someone will come speeding from up behind me and then will come to a halt just inches away from my car. I also see this happen to other people who are stopped as well.

While I’m stopped, if there’s a car in front of me, I always keep a safe distance that allows me to be able to see both of their rear tires touching the pavement (which is literally what ur taught in driving school). Yet, other people just don’t seem to believe in doing this.

It’s honestly just mad annoying when people do this and it’s also nerve wracking too because it genuinely looks like you’re about to be rear ended when you’ve got someone fast approaching from up behind you in which they decide to hit their brakes at the last mf minute (ultimately leaving them to stop literally RIGHT on your ass)

The type r is the only civic that isn’t sickeningly slow.

PSA: sorry for the rant, but hear me out.

Ok so don’t get me wrong, I absolutely love my civic to death (like my civic is literally my everything fr) but the ONE thing about my car that i find to be an absolute pain in the ass is the lack of power that the car produces.

I have a 2019 civic sport sedan which features a 2.0L naturally aspirated engine and is a CVT transmission. The engine only produces a whooping 158 horsepower and it doesn’t have a turbo, so essentially, it’s slow as Christmas. Now I know the other trim models (such as the EX-T and touring) produce a little bit more horsepower than mine because they have the 1.5L turbocharged engine. However, even then, those things are still producing under 200hp. As for the si, the poor thing only produces 205hp (like cmon now, the accord sport 2.0t literally produces almost 50 more hp than the si) which is honestly just sad given that the si is supposed to be one of Hondas “higher performing” cars, with the type r being placed above the si of course.

Anyways, as someone who’s civic only produces 158hp, I pretty much have to drive it in sport mode all of the time in order to have a pleasant driving experience. Believe it or not, I’ve found that when driving my civic, it’s actually dangerous to be merging onto on the highway while in drive (ESPECIALLY if the merge lane isn’t long) because the car genuinely cannot get up to highway speeds in enough time. In order words, if you’re getting into the highway, you need to be in sport, and/or need to turn the AC off.

I know you may be thinking “just tune the engine” but unfortunately thats not an option for me because I need this car to last me until i finish college and as some of you may know, tuning a CVT will just straight up kill the reliability of the car. However, I am looking to get a BMW M4 competition xdrive as my next car. Given that the bmw m4 comp xdrive is a 523 horsepower car, it’s gonna be one hell of adjustment for me since I’m going from a 158hp vehicle, to one that produces 523hp.

I just really wish that Honda didn’t make civics super slow cars. Honestly, I think Honda would have been way better off making the type r produce a horsepower of something in the 400’s, the si in the 300’s, and then the other civic models (sport, EX, EX-T, ect) around 220-250. If we’re being 100% truthful here, anything under 200hp is absolutely diabolical.

Saving for CRNA program

Hello all. Im 22 years old and am wanting to become a CRNA in the future and it is my ultimate goal. I am a nursing student currently working on my ADN, to which when I’m finished with my ADN, I plan to immediately enroll in an RN-BSN bridge program so that way I can waste absolutely no time getting my BSN (especially given that most hospitals these days want you to have your BSN, atleast where I live)

Anyways, my school is already covered for (and my BSN will be too) so I do not have any student loans to pay off from nursing school. Upon getting my BSN and securing a job as an RN, I do plan to continue living with my parents so that way I can be able to put away as much money as possible for CRNA school in the future.

I get judged when I tell people that I’m going to continue living at home with my parents until I go to CRNA school, but in reality, it’s just so I can save up as much of my RN money as possible so that way I don’t end up in severe debt from CRNA school tuition in the future (since as many of you probably already know, the tuition cost is very expensive).

Yields confuse me

I’m so sorry if this is long. Anyways, yields (aka yields that are used in replacement of right turns) genuinely give me anxiety because of the fact that sometimes you have to come to a complete stop and yield to oncoming traffic, meanwhile on the other hand, sometimes you DONT have to stop because the fact that the yield has it’s own dedicated lane that follows immediately after it.

Because of this, I get confused on whether or not I should stop when I’m using a yield. See, I don’t want to proceed through a yield without stopping and then I end up getting dumped into oncoming traffic and cause an accident (which I’ve literally seen happen to someone before) but on the other hand, I also don’t want to come to a complete stop at a yield and then hold up traffic behind me if stopping turns out to not even be necessary (like if the yield happens to have it’s own dedicated lane)

Now I know you may be thinking to yourself “um ok…well why don’t you just look ahead of time to see if the yield has a dedicated lane to use?” Well, it’s because I’ve discovered that a lot of time, you can’t even tell if there’s a dedicated lane or not UNTIL you’ve already made it through the little bend/curved part of the yield. Because of that, in the event that there turns out to not be a dedicated lane (ultimately leaving you to have to stop and yield to oncoming traffic before proceeding), then you’ll be stopped in an area of the yield where you’re out of view from the people who are coming up from behind you in which is where you can be at risk for being rear ended.

I’ve tried to go about using yields by entering and proceeding through them with sort of like a rolling stop until I’m able to get a clear view of further down the yield and can see if there’s a dedicated lane or not. However, even with taking this approach, I’m afraid that if I do end up having to stop, that someone behind me who doesn’t see me stopped will end up rear ending me.

Anyways, I used screenshots that I took from a pov drive video to use as an example of what I’m talking about. As you can see in the pics, you can’t tell if that yield has its own dedicated acceleration lane or not until you’re damn near approaching the end of the yield.

Tips on the best pathway to follow as an ADN nurse trying to secure a position in the ICU

Hello all. I’m so sorry if this is long, but I am in need of some real advice. For a little background, I am in a 2 year (non accelerated) ADN program at my local community college. Upon completing the ADN program and passing the NCLEX, I plan on immediately enrolling in an online RN-BSN bridge program so that way I can waste absolutely no time in getting my BSN. However, I also plan to work full time as an ADN nurse while I am doing the RN-BSN program, which is ultimately why i’m choosing to do an online program that a university offers.

Anyways, my dream is to become a CRNA and has been since I was in my early high school years. However, as many of you probably already know, in order to even be considered for a CRNA program, you must work in the ICU as an RN for at least 2-4 years first (on top of having to complete other requirements such as getting your CCRN and GRE certifications).

Though, I am aware that getting a position in the ICU right away as an ADN new grad can be a bit of a challenge. With that being said, I would really like to know what the best route to ensure that I can get a job/end up getting a job in the ICU would be (as someone who’s doing the ADN route, and then an online RN-BSN bridge program immediately after). Now, if let’s say that I have a better chance at getting a position in the ICU by just working in med surg for at least a year first and then transferring over to the ICU, rather than trying land a position in the ICU right away as an ADN new grad, then I’d be totally okay with that!!

I know a lot of people will say that building a relationship with the instructors and nurses during your clinical hours can definitely help in landing a job at that hospital, which is very true, but my only problem is that my clinicals are at this one hospital in my town that I have absolutely ZERO interest in working at (due to quite a few reasons that I will not state for the sake of this post).

Oh and I forgot to say, there is a university hospital in my city that I’m very interested in working at. Again tho, it’s not like my clinicals are there so I will be on my own for making myself ‘stand out’ in order to be considered a job there.

Am I screwed? If so, how screwed am I?

Ok so i’m taking a&p Il and microbiology together this fall (a&p ll and microbiology are both 15 week long courses) and I'm VERY nervous since not only am I taking those two classes together, but I'm also taking my TEAS exam in the end of October. The thing that really sucks is that on Mondays and Wednesdays, I have a&p Il from 8am-12:30pm (lecture + lab) and then I have microbiology from 3:55pm-6:50pm (again, including lecture + lab) ALSO on Mondays and Wednesdays. On the bright side though, that gives me the other 5 days of the week to fully dedicate my time to studying and doing schoolwork for micro and a&p II (and also preparing for my TEAS exam).

With all that being said, I will have microbiology, a&p Il, and studying for/taking my TEAS exam all on my plate this fall. I start fall semester on the 24th so it's coming up here pretty soon. I did however take a 10 week long a&p I course over this summer and I passed it with a 100% (yes, it was an in person course). Though, it was the only class that I took over the summer and so I didn't have any other classes in my way which ultimately allowed me to dedicate all my time and effort to a&p.

Anyways, I'm taking a&p Il this fall with the same professor that I had taken a&p I with over the summer, which is a good thing since the a&p I professor that I had over the summer was absolutely awesome. Although, I will say that his lecture slides were a little confusing sometimes but nevertheless, he was a great professor!

Lastly, I want to mention that I’m not working at all right now as I’m currently unemployed so that way I can focus on my studies. So, given my situation, will I still be cooked this semester or could I potentially be ok?

Check the road ahead of you before turning right.

When making a right turn, once it’s clear of oncoming traffic coming from my left, I always look ahead of me real quick to the right in order to make sure that the road I’m turning onto is clear, then I look back to the left of me one last time (to make sure that it’s still clear of oncoming traffic)…and THEN I go and make my turn.

The reason why I do this is because sometimes there may be traffic that is stopped literally right there on the road that you’re going to be turning onto (for an example, traffic may be backed up due to a traffic jam) and so that’s where you have to wait for them to move out of your way so that you can have enough space to make a complete right turn. However, the problem here is that if you only look to the left of you before making a right turn (which is what A LOT of people do), then you will not be able to see if there’s any traffic right up ahead of you that is stopped and then boom, you end up rear ending someone.

Anyways, the reason why I’m posting about this is because I genuinely see so many people fail to check ahead of them before making a right turn and then they ultimately end up hitting someone.

Literally just today I almost got rear ended in the parking lot of a shopping center because of this same ordeal. Basically, I was stopped behind a crosswalk since there were pedestrians currently crossing it. While I was stopped though, someone that was making a right turn from out of the lot that was 10 or so feet behind me, clearly didn’t check ahead of them before turning and then they came just inches away from hitting the back of my car.

#1 thing I hate about driving in the rain

I hate how when the road is wet from rain, it’s hard to be able to see the lane lines because of the shine that is reflecting off of the road.

Now I’m not saying that it’s impossible to see the markings on the road when it’s wet out, but it’s definitely not super easy.

Am I nearsighted?

Hello all. I’m 22 years old and ever since I was about 19, I’ve noticed a decline in my vision. Though, I more so really began to notice this decline around the spring of 2025 (so over a year ago). Anyways, I always had perfect vision up until I began noticing the initial change in my vision so all of this eye stuff is new to me.

Ok so- up close everything looks fine and is perfectly visible. However, anything that’s more than 20 feet away from me is hard to makeout and looks very grainy. For an example, I’m in college and I noticed that I have to squint to be able to makeout what’s on the whiteboard unless it’s literally right in front of me. Another example is while I’m driving, I’ll have trouble reading the words on signs from a distance (as again, everything from a distance just looks grainy) but then once I get any less than 20 feet away from it, it becomes clearer.

I have an appointment with an eye doctor next week so I am getting this issue addressed thankfully, but, I’m just curious to know what I’m dealing with here.

The funny thing is, my dad had the same issue as me when he was my age (which makes me think that this could possibly be genetic but idk) as he said that he always had perfect vision while he was growing up but then, when he was around 19, he began having a hard time reading the chalk board in his college classes. As a result, he saw an eye doctor and got diagnosed with nearsightedness and then he had to get glasses.

Took too many edibles and had a sever reaction. What happened?

A few weeks ago, I had edibles for the first time. This wasn’t just the first time that I tried edibles, but deadass the first time that I ever tried weed. I’ve only ever vaped and drank throughout my teen-early adult years. Anyways, I had a few of my brother’s THC gummies and unfortunately, I didn’t read the print on the back of the pack (turns out, I had the amount that a hardcore stoner could handle).

Well, an hour into taking them, they hit HARD and everything went rainbow and also went into slow motion. At first, I was laughing and thought it was fun, but then out of no where, all hell broke loose and everything started going black, my heart started RACING, I was shaking uncontrollably, my body felt like it was being lit on fire, I forgot how to breathe, I felt like I was gonna have a seizure, and I wholeheartedly felt like I was going to die at any moment. I was pleading for my brother to call 911 because of how bad this was. It quickly got to a point where my vision kept going black and I genuinely had trouble seeing.

I ended up having to lay in the shower with cold water running on me for over an hour because I felt like I was actually going to die if I didn’t do that. According to my brother (who was with me), I was shaking and twitching really bad and my eyes were redder than a tomato.

I ended up throwing up at some point and then felt a bit better afterwards, but still really shitty at the same time. Some time later, I finally laid in bed and then heard the nether portal noise from Minecraft while also seeing portals all over my room. And just like that, BOOM i was knocked out and fell asleep.

I woke up the next day feeling exactly like how a hang over feels, but with extreme derealization that accompanied it for the whole rest of the day. I’ve learned that what I experienced sounds like “greening out” but I’m not too sure if the painful burning I felt running all through my body (like I said, it felt like my body was being lit on fire), everything going black, and feeling like I was going to seize at any moment was apart of that, or something else.

First time taking a&p and passed with a 100%!!

First time taking a&p I and I did the 10 week accelerated option for this summer. I passed every practical with a 100, and passed all of my lecture exams as well as the final with a 100% too!! (except for the first lecture exam to which I happened to get a 92 on).

I was genuinely terrified before the semester started bc of all the negative things that people say about taking an accelerated a&p course, and yes it’s A LOT of studying, but it’s honestly not as bad as people make it seem!! Here’s to 1 step closer to nursing school🥳

Though, I will mention, I’m taking a&p II and microbiology together starting in just 2 weeks (both are 15 week courses though thank god) for fall semester, and I’m actually really nervous😅 especially since I have both classes on the same day of the week.

On top of that, I’m taking my TEAS exam on Halloween so needless to say, I have a lot on my shoulders these next few months and I’m scared lol

Why do Mr nightmares stories sound so fake these days

I’m not saying that all of the stories that Mr nightmare reads nowadays sound fake, but I genuinely feel like in almost every single video that he posts now, there’s at least one story that just sounds fabricated as hell.

I’ve been watching Mr nightmare since 2016 and his stories were always believable and super interesting. Over the past 2-3 years though, his stories have progressively become more phony, with this past year (2025-2026) def being the worst.

One of the more recent videos that nightmare posted (I think it was titled 3 scary UFO encounters or something like that), were stories that just sounded like folklore.

Tailgaters might just be the dumbest people out on the roads

Before all the people obsessed with left lane camping start commenting, I want to note that the tailgating instances that I’m referring to here do NOT involve the left lane on the highway. Also, the tailgaters I’m referring to here are people that tailgate when you’re already doing 5 or more over the speed limit.

Anyways, I honestly just don’t understand people who tailgate. For example, despite me doing 5-10 over the speed limit on a single lane road (let’s say I’ll be doing 45 in a 40), I’ll still have someone inches away from my rear bumper because they want to go a whole 30+ over the speed limit and are pissed that I’m not doing so. I see this frequently happen to other people too.

The lack of logic behind tailgating is what gets me. For one, tailgating is not gonna make the person in front of you go any faster. In fact (at least in my case), I end up having to go even slower if I’m being tailgated because I’ll need to further increase my following distance between my car and the person in front of me so that way I can have plenty of braking distance (in order to not be rear ended by the asshole right behind me in the event that the person in front of me has to brake suddenly).

Another thing is that by being on someone’s ass, literally all you’re doing is just increasing the chances of being in an accident by a great amount. Not only that, but you’ll be the one found at fault for it since following too closely and rear ending someone is immediately on you.

With all that being said, people that ride other people’s tails genuinely need to be studied. The fact that these people willingly put themselves in a position where they can cause an accident in just the snap of a finger (in which again, is an accident that THEY will be found at fault for), as well as put themselves AND the other people around them in physical danger (all because they’re too impatient to obey a speed limit) is concerning.

Do the police just not do anything about reckless driving anymore?

PSA: Sorry if this is long!!

Ok so don’t get me wrong, there are bad drivers everywhere in the world, but here in Harford county, it’s actually bad. I’ve noticed that the drivers here have gotten significantly worse since 2023.

Up until like mid 2023, I would frequently see police out on the roads or on the shoulder clocking people with a radar, and have even witnessed my fair share of them pulling over reckless drivers and speeders any chance that they could get (which is ultimately what helped keep people out of trouble on the road). Well, nowadays the police are pretty much no where to be found on the roads. I mean, maybe every once in a while I’ll see an officer or two out on the road, but that’s pretty much it.

Even then, I have seen MULTIPLE occasions where there has been someone driving erratically right in front of an officer on the road and yet, the officer didn’t do a damn thing about it. For an example, a few weeks ago, I was on route 24 and witnessed some guy in a minivan tailgating the absolute HELL out of this other driver (who was already doing 5+ over the speed limit), and there was a bel air police officer in the lane next to them with a perfect view of the whole situation. Well, did the officer do anything about it? Nope.

Because people are not being held accountable for their actions on the road anymore, people feel like they can act however they want since there isn’t anyone stopping them anymore. Just today, at an intersection in abingdon, I saw someone make a left turn from the straight only lane while someone was already in the midst of turning left from the left turn lane, and so that person who was turning left had to slam on their brakes since they got severely cut off by this idiot trying to create their own left turn lane.

This type of behavior on the road just doesn’t phase me one bit anymore because i see it every single day here. I just really hope that the police in Harford county can get their shit together and start caring about road safety again. I understand that they have other things to worry about, but road safety is extremely important and when it goes ignored and/or isn’t monitored, the roads turn into a literal GTA V server (which is how it is now in harco).

Aftermarket speakers for 10th gen civic sport sedan

I have a 2019 civic sport sedan and have aftermarket subwoofers in my trunk which sound great, but as most of us know, the main purpose of subwoofers is for bass production. As for the actual sound quality of the music, that comes from the cars speakers and unfortunately, the speakers in my car have poor sound quality and it sounds fuzzy (even after making adjustments to the audio settings in the infotainment)

Does anyone have any suggestions for replacement aftermarket speakers that are compatible for a 2019 sport sedan? I’m tired of feeling like I’m listening to music coming out of an iPhone 6’s speakers
