Tips for moving as a single person on a budget

Single, 1 cat, currently renting a single bedroom, will be looking to rent a studio, will be moving across the country via car, and on a budget.

Posting this as although there’s a lot of great information out there for moving, I usually see advice geared towards couples, families, moving from big house to a big house

Just looking to get suggestions or advice from anyone who has moved that’s been in a similar situation to me. Although I rent a small room iv managed to accumulate quite a bit of furniture that fits nicely in a small space, do I need to sell it or are there options that I may not be aware of for moving with with me?

How do you respond to “what does it show on your screen?”

Been in customer service for almost a decade, iv dealt with varying degrees of insanity when it comes to customers so I’m pretty unphased by a lot.

But the one thing that send me over the edge is:
“What does it show on your screen” “what does it show when you search ___”

I’m not referring to when a customer is just trying to explain something on their account and wants me on the same page. It’s when someone assumes that I’m flat out stupid and wants to do my job for me. Or assumes that I’m gatekeeping some information that magically exists. It’s always said with a tone of entitlement and superiority too.

It leaves me feeling very annoyed. Nonetheless, what’s the customer service friendly way of saying: “Sit down, shut up, youre being entitled, let me help you!” In response to when customers say “you’re stupid, let me look at your screen over the phone”

Why are so many people wanting to get monetized on Pinterest in 2026?

I see so many posts on here that are asking about “why is my engagement so low” etc etc. I’m assuming these are people trying to strategize getting views as a means of monetizing. Correct me if I’m wrong.

But with all due respect, why??

There are plenty of ‘less than perfect’ social media sites where I think it would be reasonable to try to monetize. But Pinterest is not just ‘less than perfect’ it’s an actively sinking ship where you will be eventually banned. It’s not a matter of if it’s a matter of when. There’s no getting your monetization back and there’s no signs things will change

Anywhere in Midwest, besides Chicago, that has usable public transportation

Live in AZ in the downtown of a big city so transportation is mediocre (which is good enough for me) if I need to, get can get from point a to point b and I’m never at all stranded. This is the kind of public transportation I’m looking for at minimum

I want to leave AZ as soon as possible but don’t have a car. Due to personal circumstance I can’t get a car and drive up tomorrow, and given I’m from the sunbelt iv never driven in snow so don’t want to go in the middle of winter.

I work from home and can live anywhere in the country, so I don’t have to use transit for commuting

Are there any cities in the Midwest where I could hypothetically use public transit to get by for 6 months? Looking for neighborhoods that are generally safe (doesn’t have to be perfect just not the hood)

I had people recommend places like Des Moines but I have not clue how good or bad their transit is

Note: Avoiding Chicago due to COL. I love Chicago just don’t want to have to struggle to find housing

Hungry right after injecting

Been on Compunded Semaglutide for 3 months. On full dose (50 units) it not working and have lost 0 weight. (I’m likely a slow responder so please don’t come at me with a bunch of diet advice and xyz is reason this isn’t working for you) But not loosing weight is not my main concern

My concern is after injection day I’m starving. Like could eat my whole house. I inject once a week and the days leading up to injection day I actually feel it working and suppressing my appetite. The day of and usually day after I inject is starving and have no self control around food. There have been times where I put off my dose for a couple days and that’s when I feel it working even more

What indie brands do you find the most reliable?

What indie brands do you find the most reliable. So in other words is consistent with pricing, formula (no skimpflation), not discontinuing fragrances, shipping availability.

I’m thinking about saving up for some indie fragrances but I’m picky and won’t commit to buying one unless I know for sure it won’t be discontinued or have the formula skimped down after buying it.

In your opinion, how much should I sell my scooter for?

Long story short I wanted to get a scooter a few months back and loved it. Issue is I got an IceBear (economical Chinese brand) model: flash. I knew it would be work and at the time I felt ready to take on the commitment. Iv been changing the oil on it just fine but I recently realized anything past that feels way too advance for me. I have 0 mechanic experience and feel way in over my head

I noticed it was acting up and stopped running and diagnosed it likely as a carburetor issue. I couldn’t even get the damn thing out, let alone take it apart to clean it, even after looking at tutorials and going through the manual multiple times

I think at this point I just want to get it off my hands and try again when I can afford a different brand or have more resources to do mechanical work

It’s only 3 month old, doesn’t run but cranks, title. Bought it for about $1300. With that said, what should I sell it for?

Would I be unrealistic to want $600 minimum for it given it doesn’t run

Anyone here moved from the sun-belt to an area with harsh winters?

Has anyone here moved from the sun-belt, or from anywhere it doesn’t snow, to an area with harsh winters?

What was your experience? Did anyone like living in a colder area with harsh winters more?

Where can I move where studio apartments are still going for $800 month

What cities, small cities, or suburbs:
-Has decent studio apartments going for $800 month
-In decently safe areas (doesn’t have to be perfect)
-Has plenty of inventory (So no bidding wars for rentals)
-Is at least somewhat politically moderate or left leaning (for reference I live in AZ now and I found Gilbert to be way too conservative but Mesa, Tempe, and Phoenix where comfortable enough)

I’m certain of it…Pinterest CEO Bill Ready is an incel

Think about it, for a large portion of Pinterest history the majority of users were women and was a sort of safe space for female and lgbtq creators.

Since becoming CEO in 2022 the site has been pretty much annihilated. All character and life has been vacuumed from it, accounts being deactivated, staff laid off en mass. He took on the CEO role with the sole intention to destroy Pinterest…that’s it.

In interviews Bill Ready shifts uncomfortably in his seat when asked about politics and states that he “doesn’t have an opinion”. In reality pride flags or posts remotely related to “wokeness” gets heavily moderated and removed. Women (I included) get flooded and I mean flooded with pregnancy ads to the point where it’s almost all I see.

I’m certain that Bill Ready took on the CEO role not to expand Pinterest like he promised. He took it because he hates women and anything that could be perceived as “woke”

He’s weaseled his way into his role just to destroy a safe space we all once used to love

Bill Ready is a sexist misogynistic incel

When will things get better?

Serious question, but as someone in the US I’m genuinely wondering when things will get better economically for the average American?

Note: Not asking “will things get better” but rather asking “when”

Salad and Go not selling salads?

Tried ordering a salad via door dash pickup and noticed they don’t have salads on their menus at any location

I wasn’t sure if this was a glitch or due to the stomach bug that’s causing restaurants to pull their fresh produce options

Does this fashion/aesthetic have a name?

To me, this has old money influences but it’s not the whole picture, as in there are other styles blended here I just don’t have a name for them yet

US to Edmonton, not sure where to go from here

I’m a Canadian citizen living in the US (dual citizenship). Iv had all my documents up to date for a while but have held off on leaving the US due to the job market situation in Canada. My family is in Edmonton and they tell me how bad it is. On the other hand iv been wanting to make this move for over 4 years now and im getting fed up with being in the US

I currently have an exceptionally stable job in the US. Long story short, It’s a government and higher education job and I have a lot of connections at the company. I have 10+ years of customer service and contact center experience. I’m about to graduate with my BA in business admin. I may also be able to utilize remote work and extra pto iv saved up to travel to look for work

At this point…I’m just looking for anything. Literally I would take on any field so long as I match the qualifications.

Can’t do military service, can do some manual labor jobs but not all, and although I’m willing to get certifications I would have to wait until I’m eligible for financial aid.

Are there any routes I should take that I may not have thought of already? It sounds delusional but are there any early signs of a stabilizing job market?

Any advice helps!
Thank you!

Has anyone’s body shape changed with treatment? (Apart from weight loss)

Curious on if anyone has treated their PMOS/PCOS (through supplements, medications, lifestyle changes, etc) and noticed changes in their body shape apart from weight loss

Milk but in a distinctly light and non-cow sort of way

I want to smell like milk. But not in a cow milk sort of way and nothing too heavy/curdled.

I want to smell like rice milk, nut milk, or oat milk…I even like the way goat milk soap smells

Open to different brands…stuff I can find at Sephora or stuff thats more indie

Can’t cancel membership

Started plying Neopets recently for the nostalgia. I bought the membership because I wanted to do the species change on one of my pets

I went to go cancel my membership through premium portal then membership settings and now I’m receiving a “this site can’t be reached error”

Is this happening to anyone else?

Needing recommendations for a shiny eyeshadow

Looking for a single eyeshadow that gives a very subtle but glowing effect. Im going for shiny. I don’t want any noticeable pigment but more of a shimmer or sheen eyeshadow that acts as sort of highlighter. Also trying to avoid anything remotely chunky like glitter, should be very smooth.

I’m going for shiny, maybe even dewy or wet.

I apologize if that doesn’t make a lot of sense, just having a hard time conveying into words what exactly I’m looking for.

I don’t have an exact price limit for said shadow, I’m more seeking quality even if it costs more but I’m totally open to drugstore recommendations too.
