I guess we won't have access to the COVID-19 air detector

I was following the Air detector developed in Washington University in Saint Louis in 2023.

They developed a small device that samples the air and gives a PCR equivalent in it's accuracy, for covid 19 particals.

It was given to Varro Life Sciences to build a commercial device.

Well..... Now on their site they present it as a

" Subscription-based monitoring contracts ". In other words, we will not have access to it.

That's that I guess.

Is Anakin Skywalker wearing a coat he bought at the mall?

In a galaxy far far away where people have the same stuff we have here. LOL.

Did they just stop trying?

Everything Lucas did was aimed at creating a unique and different place than what we have. You know, a fantasy.

Eventually we will get Darth Vader doom scrolling on his phone for hours....

In a lemon bar Recipe they use lemon zest infused in the sugar, should I strain it and sift out the zest after it's infused?

Also should I do it when it's dry or after I mix all the wets (seems to me it would be easier to sift when everything is dissolved but Im not sure)

If anyone is interested: Preppy kitchen just changed his Lemon bars Recipe

I like preppy kitchen, made his lemon tart a few months ago it was Amazing, and his recipe was so clear I was able to do it even tough I never made one.

I was preparing to do his lemon bars, and the way I preper is memorizing the recipe. So reading it for the thousand times after having it in my list for over a year I was surprised it was changed.

It used to be 300 g AP flour, 66 g powder Suger and 170g butter for the crust.

It's now 360 g AP flour 90 g powder sugar and 200g butter.

Nothing major, just noticed it so I thought I'd share with everyone.

Do you ever watch a movie on your phone?

Iv never watched a movie on my phone. But I constantly watching long YouTube teaching videos in verious subjects.

Iv always thought a movie should be seen at least on a tv screen (just my own perfrence). But I must admit it would be much more accessible to just watch stuff on a mobile.

So I was wondering, do you ever watch a movie on mobile, what are you thoughts on it?

A recipe says it's enough french butter cream for 8" cake, for 3 layers do I just double the ingredients?

It will be 14 egg yolks and 400g of sugar in the stand mixer later I would need to add 900g of softened butter. That's just sounds like a lot, I never mixed such a huge amount. Should I do the recipe twice or just double it?

Why are star wars sub so hostile?

No matter how non controversial your post or comment is they tend to downvote anything. The political subs are more chill than that.

Why is everyone so angry over there?

Just realized something positive reading about latest vaccine developments

All the big companies are in final stages of approving combined Flu and covid vaccines. As we all know, the flu is something the media does talk about occasionally, and doctors warn against it and people actually fear, while covid is just forgotten and pushed aside.

In other words the flu has much better PR. And if future vaccines come in a combined shot, a lot of people will be vaccinated for covid.

In my country there is great awarness for vaccinating for the flu, but covid has less the 1% vaccination. Even tough it's free here. And even though when you get vaccinated for the flu the nurse askes if you want a covid shot too.

So just wanted to share something positive.

To turn baking soda (sodium bicarbonate) into sodium carbonate you have to bake it for one hour in 250c. But how should I bake it? Spread out on a baking pan or all in one small bowl works too?

For soft pretzels, and no , I won't use lye.

Question about two methods I saw of making chocolate butter cream, what is the difference?

Method one (Sally's baking) she combines all the ingredients uses a stand mixer, and the butter cream is done.

Method two (aya-pastry living) she makes the butter cream, a plain one, then she has a separate video taking the complete buttercream and adding either cacao powder or chocolate, and mixes it with the plain butter cream.

What is the difference in the methods? Is one better then the other?

Can anyone help with converting The HERSHEY’S “Perfectly Chocolate” Chocolate Cake recipe to weights?

I looked everywhere and all I can find is the volume version.

There are different scales and I don't want to get it wrong.

Can anyone convert these?

One is for the cake the second is for the icing.
