Ngl, I respect Netease's consistent support for Jean X Scott

Just like the other canon couples shown in Rivals, Its quite wholesome they showcased them as a consistent pairing

Though I haven't yet read several comics around the X-men to properly know their full relationship, I always heard that their relationship has been tainted due to strangling them to a love triangle with Logan to fabricate drama in X-men books.

I think Netease truly shed a positive light on their love for general Marvel fans ( like me ) very well. As I never realized how I much genuinely root them being together compared to other modern adaptations of the characters.

(It may not be intentional, But i really like how both Scott and Jean are often paired in terms of balancing and skin distribution ever since the start of S8.5)

Reed can apparently reach around 500 yard at max

[1960's Fantastic 4 # 16]

After finding out Reed resides in the games "Present Timeline," which is an alt continuity of 616 comics where previous comic arcs shapes their current development in Rivals.

It made me curious and decided to read their OG comic run. This info about Reed whilst reading their (honestly fantastic) stories surprised me on how far he could actually reach.

The Hood calling Magento out with his OG villain group

Like literally, what was Eric thinking for making that name while proving a message.

(It doesn't help that both characters reside in the Presents Timeline in game, which is an alt future of 616 comics where Krakoa survived the "Fall of X" incident 2 years later)

I think Magik would have a prominent role in S9.5

Unlike several X-men , Magik is the only mutant that resides in "Collapsing Timeline" in Rivals, a desolate reality where hope turns a myth as humanity constantly suffer due to the wars risen by outwordly deities whom chose to conquere upon it.

(Her situation is the aspect that lost what made her whole but Limbo)

I feel like Magik will have a bigger presence in S9.5 due to her hidden motives hinted since S0, as this variant supports this AU Apocalypse of both sharing the same ideals to save their collapsing world.

Thebes takes place in the "Collapsing Timeline" of Rivals. So, seeing the current fate of Apocalypse becomes a personal mission for Magik

(perhaps it would come to play as depicted in this Rural) .

I really wonder if the devs would reflect that to the story's continuation with S9.5? Thoughts on this revelation?

Despite being a Multiverse game, there's not really a lot of variants in Rivals.

In the lore of Marvel Rivals, it turns out the devs established 4 timelines for us to follow since the events of S0.

With the 4th ( technically the 1st) one being the "Present Timeline," the main 616-adjacent reality that drives the game's conflict that spanned multiple seasons till now.

I just want to point this as this quite change the scope of not just the story of Marvel Rivals, but also the 53 current playable roster...

The ones not listed here are deliberate writing decisions by the devs as to where they are designated.

The fact that only a 1/4 of roster are confirmed to be from different realities in Rivals is a crazy discovery to me honestly.

Thoughts on Rivals Blade being an alt future of his comic counterpart [616-Adjacent] ?

I became an avid reader of Rival's lore pages since the launch of S1. And there's a lot of surprising discoveries in regards to Blade in this game:

It turns out he resides in the game's main "Present Timeline" out of the 3 established realities.

Not only that, it turns out he's deliberately written to be adaptation of his comic character whom already experienced several of his to comic history& growth till his 2023 appearances (written during the game's early development)

Learning about this revelation made me notice how consistent the devs are in implementing references from current comics that directly reflect his current demeanour in the game.

(Its quite cool, honestly, and made me appreciate this adaptation of an experienced Blade!)

Wait, Wade actually respects Namor?

**What Timeline is this?**

Jokes aside, Namor indeed predate Aquaman by 2 years in 1939. Im just quite surprised they added this fun fact via Deadpool without actually mocking the fish man, considering they know how much of dick Namor is usually written. ( I commend the Rivals devs for that ngl)

Especially considering Namor is written to be exactly like his 616-self in the game's "Present Timeline."

This new Interaction between DP and Gambit genuinely made me chuckle😭 (Marvel Rivals)

This interaction made me surprised to learn how much deeper Rogue's relationship in the comic is. Even if this Wade in Rivals is confirmed to be from an original timeline (He said so himself in lore)...

Even for a variant, It looks like his heart is still reciprocating alot for her lol.

Scott canonically experienced AvX in Marvel Rivals

It gets interesting as this dialogue also quite reinforced his character residing in the game's "Present Timeline". (An alternate continuity of 616 comics set 2 years after the X-men prevented the "Fall of X" from decimating Krakoa.)

Which means this version is deliberately written to have established several of his growth and history from the comics untill his 2023 appearances.

What's your thoughts on this revelation? Im just quite surprised that Rivals is consistent in this direction of making him a faithful translation of his 616 counterpart.

(even including the darker aspects of the character in general).

In Marvel Rivals, It turns out Shogo became a dragon the exact way from the 616 comic |(Jubilee's lore page)

Jubilee's lore page reveals how Shogo became a dragon prior to the events of Rivals.

This surprises me how Rivals continues to reinforce the "Present Timeline" in game to be an adaptation of the 616 comic by establishing it as an adjacent future. Set 2 years where the X-men saved the 'Fall of X' incident in this reality.

As this is a particular story in a chapter of Excalibur (2019) series following Betsy Bradock in the Krakoan era.

Knowing about this revelation made commend on Netease for actually attempting to adapt the comics in the game, respecting the source whilts creating their own unique direction.

Felicia's delivery is genuinely sending me 😭

One of 100+ interactions in S9 of Rivals. Erica Lindbeck did a wonderful job voicing her.

What's your thoughts of Rivals Jubilee being a continuation of her 616 counterpart?

Context: The main "Present Timeline" in Rivals is actually an alt continuation of 616 comics. Taking place 2 years after the X-men save Krakoan by preventing the "Fall of X" incident by Orchis.

Characters that reside in this reality are deliberately written to have already established their comic roots, growth, and history up till their 2023 appearances.

In the game's recent chapter, it turns out that she was absent for 8 season prior due to being displaced into the "Collapsing Timeline" from unexpected cosmic storm that hit Krakoa in Rivals (the main conflict since S0).

She end up having her vampiric abilities once serving as the Horesmen of Famine by this AU Apocalypse due to her lack of options in the lore.

It turns out Rivals Jubilee is from the Present Timeline

Context: The main "Present Timeline" in Rivals is actually an alt continuation of 616 comics. Taking place 2 years after the X-men saved Krakoa by preventing the "Fall of X" incident by Orchis.

Along with over 35 of the roster residing in this are deliberately written to have already established their comic roots, growth, and history up till their 2023 appearances.

This revelation quite shocked me cause I assumed she's always from the "Collapsing Timeline" judging by the trailers.

So, I guess Jubilee became a vampire once again huh...

This genuinely caught me off guard in the trailer of Rivals (Daredevil's1st Lore page)

Context: This particular scenario was built up before in Daredevil's lore page during Season 4 Rivals and now in the newest S9 trailer of the game.

Not only exploring Rivals DD's new attitude, designe and ulterior motives. But also bring forward the storyline their slowly build up to with 4 main timelines established in their story. (I was quite surprised at how much of the dialogue is really in line with darker moments of Marvel comics. Highly recommend reading it when booting up the game)

I just recently discovered that Jubilee has been a Vampire for ALMOST A DECADE?!

Context: I haven't read any X-men comics yet (busy with OG Fantastic 4 run), but I have played Rivals and became a fan of the game. Apparently, there was rumors going on that Jubilee would be introduced in S9 of the game as a Bloodsucking Strategist.

—At first I was conflicted as I vaguely remember her being the "fireworks girl" and thought it was an original idea yet bold deviation of her. Then I got curious and see that she's been one since the 2010s..... What.The. Hell......

— So comic Jubilee fans have always been gatekeeping this idea? Are you Jubing me?!

u/Longjumping_Ad1469 — 2 months ago

Wait Jubilee has been a Vampire for THAT LONG?!

(Art by me) — I was quite shocked by this revelation, so you meant to told me her supposed rumors of being a blood-sucking lifestyle was pulled straight from the *Comics and not a crazy subversion by Netease?!*

I dont read X-men comics, so I'm not too familiar with Jubilee but dang....

In Marvel Rivals, Spidey canonically experienced Shadowlands event in the comics...

Tho considered quite mediocre by DD fans, the Shadowlands arc expands the mythos behind the Hand clan's cult society and The Beast that Marvel Rivals later adapt for their unique story with Rivals DD.

In S4 of Marvel Rivals, inside his lore page. It turns out not only we explore Rivals DD's current dilemma & motives to where is now.

But the lore page itself reinforced the idea of Rivals Spidey's main timeline being deliberately written as an Alt continuation of the 616 comics. Essentially, this Spidey has already experienced his comic history, which is why he's able to immediately sympathize with the issues this DD in the same lore page.

(Its quite a cool read, I didn't expect it to be very dark in tone of what happened when further reading, but knowing this revelation made me wonder....Is Rivals Spideythe most faithful modern adaptation of the 616 comic?)
