I Just finished my high school....​I’m planning to join as an Electro-Technical Officer (ETO), but I recently ran into a medical issue with my eyes and want to know if it will block me from passing the required maritime medical exam ( ENG1 / STCW medical)

Symptom: Seeing halo lights and light scattering around light sources in one eye(Because of a Mild corneal scarring left behind by a minor eye infection I had about a month ago)

Other Eye: Unaffected

My biggest question are ...

Does corneal scarring or light scattering in one eye automatically fail the vision standards for an ETO?

If my overall visual acuity and color vision meet the required standard, do doctors usually grant clearance for post-infection scarring?

Has anyone here passed their seafarer/naval medical with a similar condition or visual halo effect?

Scrapping NEET isn't a victory for social justice. It’s a politically lazy shortcut that avoids fixing Tamil Nadu’s public education.**The old system was pure rote learning**. Scoring 200/200 meant memorizing "book-back questions" word for word. That tested memorization, not conceptual understanding.Just pure mugging up..

The 7.5% reservation already proved the solution. The government school quota showed that rural kids can crack NEET when given basic support. Targeted affirmative action works,dropping standards doesn't....:)

​Unfortunately, I am still experiencing severe pain in that same eye. My vision has significantly deteriorated: while my other eye sees perfectly clearly, the affected eye is completely foggy, and I cannot read text on screens or see normal letters from a distance.

​Given the combination of severe pain, asymmetry, and foggy vision following a major past infection, what could be causing this, and what immediate steps should I take?
