the memory resets are what kill it for me, not the chat quality

i can forgive a lot in a virtual girlfriend app. slightly stiff dialogue, fine. image gen that needs a few retries, fine. what i can’t get past is when she forgets something important from two days ago and i have to re-explain like we just met.

replika was the worst offender for me, it remembers facts but not the feel of past conversations. candy just quietly drops context once you go past a certain length. i’ve had the best luck with nomi and lovescape on this, nomi for straight recall, lovescape for keeping an ongoing storyline coherent across sessions, though even there it occasionally mixes up details i mentioned weeks apart. maybe that’s just where the tech is right now.

how do you all deal with it? do you keep some kind of notes doc to re-feed context, or just accept the resets as part of it?

No replies from Hote

How do you feel when you write to the property and the property doesn’t care to reply you; whilst your stay is just a week ahead. Yes talking about Accor properties.
How busy you think the managers or the marketing executives are to reply or acknowledge a mail you wrote them!?

My ex roommate stole my dead dad’s jersey, looking for a replacement

My dad got me into soccer when I was a kid and a few years ago he gave me a Harry Kane jersey. He passed away last year and now that it’s World Cup time and we would have been watching together, I can’t find it anywhere. I had the worst roommate from hell in December and I’m pretty sure he stole it from me. I needed to share this somewhere with people who don’t know me because I’m still mourning, but I don’t think my friends get how much the jersey meant to me, and I don’t think I can go to the police about it.

Finally made progress with my mobility exercises and not sure where to take it from here

So a bit of background: I’ve had really tight hips and a stiff lower back basically since college. I work at a standing desk now which helped a little but didn’t fix anything. About six weeks ago I started doing mobility exercises pretty consistently, nothing crazy, just 15-20 minutes most mornings before I start my day.

The win I’m actually excited about is that last week I could finally sit in a deep squat position without holding onto anything for balance. Like just… stayed there comfortably for maybe 30 seconds. That sounds small but for me it’s’s genuinely huge because I couldn’t even get close to that position six months ago without my heels coming off the ground.

Now I’m kind of at a crossroads though. I feel like I’ve made a solid baseline, but I don’t really know what the logical next step is. Do I start adding more hip flexor specific work, start incorporating thoracic stuff, try to build on the squat and work toward something like a pistol squat? I don’t have a structured plan, I’ve just been piecing things together from different places online.

For people who’ve been doing mobility exercises for a while, how did you figure out where to focus once you got past the early beginner phase?

Cash-based PT marketing without sounding like a guru funnel

I’m trying to think through the business side of cash-based PT without falling into the seminar/funnel rabbit hole. The clinic side is good. The awkward part is explaining value before someone ever talks to us. If they’re comparing us to an in-network clinic, the website and first contact have to do a lot of work without sounding cheesy. Right now I’m looking at the basics: Google profile, referral relationships, a cleaner eval request form, and maybe something like deardoc or a lighter scheduling/intake setup if the volume justifies it. I’m avoiding anything that feels like “limited spots, book now” marketing.

For small cash-based clinics, what did you fix first that made new patients less hesitant?

Do you use a separate strength/recovery setup during tri training?

A training partner and I were talking about how people here handle strength work and recovery. Do you mostly do it on your own at home or at the gym, or do you use a dedicated facility?

He’s been casually looking into places that combine strength training with recovery options like sauna, cold plunge, and compression, something along the lines of alliance performance in fair lawn. Obviously swim, bike, and run volume is still the priority, but he’s wondering if having a more structured setup for strength and recovery actually helps during a training block,For those who’ve tried something like that, did it help with consistency and how you felt during the build? Or did it just end up being another thing to fit into an already busy schedule?

A few questions about pumping at work

My maternity leave is almost over. This is my first time dealing with pumping at work,i have a spectra, but it’s too bulky for me to bring to the office every day,i’m looking for a wearable pump that would be easy to use at work. I’ll mostly be sitting at my desk, with the occasional time I need to step out, and my company does have a lactation room. The main things I care about are how well it empties me and whether the output is decent. I don’t need it to be tiny, just easy enough to carry back and forth. I’ve seen a lot of good reviews for the eufy s1 pro, so I’m considering that one too.

Also very open to any office cleaning tips or how you store milk during the day, thank you!

Engorgement at 3 weeks pp?

I’m 3 weeks pp and mostly breastfeeding. Baby has started sleeping a little longer here and there, which is great, but my boobs clearly did not get the memo.

Sometimes I wake up super full, and one side gets so hard that the baby actually has a harder time latching. It’s so annoying because I obviously have milk, but then being too full somehow makes feeding harder.

I’ve used my eufy s1 pro a few times over the past couple of days, mostly to take the edge off. It does a pretty good job emptying me, which is great, but also kind of makes me nervous because I don’t want my body thinking it needs to keep making more. So now every time I get engorged, I’m stuck debating whether to pump a little or leave it alone. Not pumping feels awful, but pumping makes me nervous too. I did not realize this part would be so confusing.

minoxidil for traction alopecia?

I’ve had braids for seven years straight and I am giving my hair a break now because my edges are thinning. I have been looking into minoxidil but I’m not sure if it works for traction alopecia or if it’s only for hormonal hair loss. If you used it for your edges would love to hear experiences.

Carpet Cleaning Comapnies Recommendations?

I’m looking for a company that can come in and professionally deep clean the carpet in my stairs, rooms and basement. I know I could rent a carpet cleaner and do it myself, but I’m too busy and would rather have someone take care of it properly. I’ve looked on Google, but the reviews seem pretty mixed, so I thought I’d ask here to see if anyone has had a great experience with a company they’d recommend before I book one. Thanks in advance for any recommendations!

Looking to replace my fence, any companies you recommend?

So over the past 2 years, I’ve probably spent over 20-30 hours fixing our fence. Whether it’s parts falling over, holes from aging, or replacing rotted panels, and truthfully, I’m kinda just at the point where I’ve decided to replace the whole thing altogether, but I’m looking for a company to help me out. I try to stay away from hiring to save money, but I’m just done with this whole thing at this point.

Install quote question

Has anyone here run into confusion with install quotes for hardwood? I’m looking at redoing my floors (probably white oak) and started getting quotes. I noticed one local installer included “staples with glue assist” and it wasn’t something I’d heard basics about. They claimed it was standard and basically necessary, not just an upsell.

I guess what’s throwing me off is every place seems to say their way is the RIGHT way, and I have no real reference so it ends up feeling pretty overwhelming. One rep even acted like it would be unsafe for kids or pets if I didn’t add glue on top of staples. That felt excessive. When I had someone from 50Floor come out, they actually walked me through the stability differences with visuals, which helped me see why the combo might be worth it for my specific layout rather than just accepting the extra line item blindly. At least that part made more sense.

Just wondering if this method is more about installer preference, or if I should be pushing for it everywhere. Anyone had an install last for years with just staples or just glue? Definitely want it solid but I’m wary of the sales talk.

How do you remove blemishes from photos while keeping a natural look?

I’m trying to get better at portrait retouching, but I always struggle with keeping skin looking natural. Removing blemishes is easy enough, but after a few edits the photo starts looking overly smooth and kind of fake. I’m curious how more experienced photographers approach this. Do you have any personal rules for when to stop retouching? How do you keep skin texture while still cleaning things up? I’ve experimented with different workflows and even tried apps like retouchme to compare results, but natural-looking edits still seem like the hardest part to get right.

Looking for the best cold plunge tub

My husband and I want a best cold plunge tub for our home but everything I find either looks like a chest freezer or a hospital tub. We have a nice house and want something that doesn’t ruin the aesthetic of the space.

What are your favorite peptides for recovery?

I was at open mat yesterday, and I got heel hooked by a blue belt.

I think I may have gotten some kind of tear, because this morning I woke up in terrible pain and unable to walk.

I’ve heard that peptides can help with joint and muscle injury recovery, and was wondering if any of you have had experience using them?

I’ve been looking specifically at Bpc-157 and Tb-500, because those seem to have the best anti inflammatory and recovery effects.

Moving from North Jersey to Philly: terrified for my expensive furniture. Need real pros.

I’m finally making the jump from North Jersey down to Philly next month (moving into a rowhome) and I am seriously stressing about the logistics.

Over the last few years, I’ve basically turned my apartment into a high-end studio. I have a massive motorized standing desk, multiple ultra-wide monitors, a ridiculous solid-wood credenza I inherited from my grandparents, and a really heavy vintage Chesterfield sofa.

I am absolutely terrified of hiring a broker that just sends random day-laborers who will ding up my vintage pieces or completely gouge the narrow Philly staircases. I am absolutely willing to pay a premium for a legit, insured company. Does anyone have a recommendation for an actual professional crew? I just want people who know how to properly shrink-wrap, blanket, and maneuver heavy or fragile stuff without destroying it or hitting me with hidden fees on moving day.

How do you get your toddler to actually play by themselves?

My son just turned 3 and he will not play alone. if i’m in the kitchen he’s right behind me. if i sit down to answer an email he’s climbing on me. i love playing with him but sometimes i just need like 20 minutes without someone handing me a plastic dinosaur every 9 seconds
he has a ton of toys but unless i’m right there with him he loses interest and comes to find me. i don’t think we need more toys i think most of what we have just doesn’t grab him enough on his own. he’s more into stuff where he’s building or figuring something out but we haven’t really landed on the right things yet
what actually gets your kids to play independently? even 15 solid minutes would change my life
