Question about Shai

Rereading Mistborn Era 2 and it mentions Moonlight. Used the handy dandy wiki to help me remember that that’s Shai’s codename.
The wiki also said she’s an Elantrian because she stamped herself with a stamp that said she became an elantrian in her past. Is that possible?? Can she access any kind of Investment like that? Become Mistborn or a windrunner, etc?
Where does that stop? What if she stamped that she was actually Adonalsium, or held a Shard?

Looking for a specific kind of holographic toploader or sleeve

Hi!
I’m about to get a card that has an 8bit design. I was thinking it could be cool to have a toploader or a sleeve that had a holographic 8bit pattern on it. I’m seeing lots of cool patterns on Etsy, but none exactly what I’m looking for. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Selling pins

Is there a place/market to sell these StarKid pins? Most of them I think are from the 10 year anniversary kickstarter. Thanks!

Question about the CASLI Performance (that doesn't violate the confidentiality rules!)

Hey y'all!

I took the EIPA a few years ago and there were great resources online about specific expectations when it came to educational interpreting. For example, sandwiched fingerspelling (spell word, sign it, spell word), mouthing words, etc. I've worked in educational interpreting for the last 5 years so I've become very used to this kind of interpreting.

My question- is there some kind of resource for the specific guidelines and expectations for the CASLI performance exam? I want to make it clear I am NOT looking for anything shady or that would violate the confidentiality of the exam. I am explicitly asking for something that is public information. I just want to be as prepared as I can be and make sure I'm using everything that's publicly available. I've already scoured the CASLI website.

Thank you!!

HMF the original artist that made this

Saw this art online someone was using to advertise their book, but when I looked at their profile it wasn’t their art. Original wouldn’t have the words on it. Thanks!

I own the actual staff used in Twisted

I got this about 10 years ago from Nick Lang himself when they were doing an event at the Adler Planetarium! Nick had like 3 props to give away and at first he gave me Sebulba’s mask, but I hadn’t seen Ani yet so I asked if I could have this instead. Coolest moment for a teen starkid obsessed fan ever!

Unfortunately it is breaking in the middle, so I’ll have to fix that

I’m so upset at myself

I’d been doing so well but I wasn’t able to get a manicure this summer because I’m working in the middle of nowhere. I was able to leave them alone for a while but ugh I’m so annoyed at myself. I’m going to get gel x when I get home from this job but I hate when the nail techs make comments about how short they are :(

Ughhhhh I’m so mad

I haven’t bitten my nails like this for a while. Normally I have a manicure on which keeps me from biting, but this summer I’m working in the middle of nowhere for a few months and can’t get a mani. I left them alone for a few weeks but caved and bit them. They’re not as bad as they’ve been in the past but I’m so annoyed. I forgot that my fingertips just perpetually hurt when I bite them like this.
Not the worst thing in the world, I’ll get back on track when I get back to the real world, but I always hate when I get a manicure and they’re judging my bitten nails. Ugh I’d been doing so well!!

Best way to prep for NIC performance?

Hi! Basically the title. Some background- I’ve been working as an educational interpreter for the last 5 years and got a 4.1 on my EIPA. I feel comfortable in the educational world but am nervous about the NIC. What are some good studying resources? Would love something that mimics the exact format of the test the way the Boystown materials do for the EIPA.

Thanks!

Resources for interpreting a Jewish wedding?

Hey all! I’m interpreting a Jewish wedding next summer. I’m Jewish and very familiar with Jewish weddings (and decent at Hebrew) but I’ve never interpreted a Jewish event before. Would love any and all relevant resources! Thank you!

Baby mouse or rat? What do I do?

Found this little one in a sink in a summer camp cabin. How can I help bet? All the campers want to keep her so I need them to know I can take care of her. They named her Baby Biscuit. I’m in Wisconsin

How does one get a diagnosis?

I’ve seen several therapists throughout my life. I take anti-anxiety medication (prescribed by my PCP) and had a therapist say that my symptoms were indicative of OCD. However I’ve never actually had a therapist say “you have this condition/disorder.”
What does it look like to get an actual diagnosis?

Where can I find more pear gelato like I had at Versailles?

I went to the palace of Versailles yesterday and the pear gelato changed my life. I need to know 2 things.

  1. Where else in Paris can I get it????
  2. How can I make the exact same thing when I go home to the states?

That was the most delicious and refreshing thing I’ve had in my life!

[TOMT] a book I read as a child

Okay I only remember a little bit about this. The characters are a son and a daughter (I think the book is from the daughter’s perspective), their father, and a woman who comes to live with them. I feel like her name may be Sarah? But that could be wrong.
The only specific details I remember is the daughter reads and rereads a letter Sarah sent to her father about coming to stay with them. She mentions that the ink runs because she’s read it so many times. I remember not understanding why the ink was running lol. I think the mother had died and Sarah was maybe coming to marry the father/take care of the house and children.
Later in the book Sarah is there and mentions planting seeds or something. The daughter is happy by this because Sarah talking about the future makes her think that means she’ll stay.

Any ideas??? Thank you!!!
