I'm moving out of Valencia, where I pay $4700 a month for a 4 bedroom, gorgeous home, with an EV outlet for our cars. I will be working in Camarillo on E Daily Dr for half the week and in TO near Rolling Oaks Dr the other half. My husband will need to be close"ish" to a train station as he commutes into downtown daily.

First of all we'd like to be paying less in rent. We're willing to down size to a 3 bedroom if necessary but we'd prefer 4 bedrooms. We want to live somewhere nice but it doesn't have to be the fanciest area of town. Is there a such thing or place as this for closer to $4k per month or is that just not a thing? What does rent look like in Ventura County?

I'd say the most important thing for us is having activity around us. We're very much not country folk. I don't want to live anywhere where I need to drive far to find restaurants or shops.

School districts don't come into play as our youngest just went to college. This was the reason we were stuck in SCV until this year with a huge commute for work.

Any help appreciated. ETA please don't comment that we should purchase a home, that is not possible for us.

My son went off to Chico this year (we're from LA) he's telling me "Sac and the bay area area put out some really racist kids!" He said the majority of students are pretty racist and also not especially queer friendly. He's struggling with his roommates because while they're nice enough, they use the N word constantly. He notices this at frat parties as well.

When we were moving him in I was chatting with a mom and her daughter and I made mention to the lavender dorms and the girl said "Oh that's gross" and the mom nodded her head and agreed. I was FLOORED that they would say that outloud to people they didn't know.

My son is a straight Caucasian male so he isn't personally dealing with hate, he's just noticing it.

Probably a long shot but I'm about to start a new job in Camarillo and Thousand Oaks(2 offices). I'm coming from Santa Clarita. Anyone know any special back ways to get there other than 126 all the way? Any suggestions appreciated. And yes I need the job, it pays really well and has a huge future. I'll move closer next year when my lease is up. 🤣 I knew people were going to ask so I'll get ahead of it. 😉

My son has suffered from ingrown toe nails his entire life. He's had his "big toe" toe nails removed over 5 times each on both sides. They always grow back. Each time the podiatrist acts like they just did some magical thing where this time they couldn't possibly grow back. Each time they do.

He's done. It is such an incredibly painful experience, absolute torture, that's he's made it clear he will never subject himself to it again.

He currently has a terrible ingrown, on the big toe as always, and he wants to be put under anesthesia to have them removed for good.

Is this a thing? Is it usually covered by insurance?

I notice people in other subs and on social often make statements like "You're a pick me girl, Justin is never going to notice you! You can give it a rest!"

Ummm... what now? I didn't even know Justin before this mess. He's no one to me. I'm not a fan of his by any means. I can just tell right from wrong, so therefore I'm team Justin.

Are most of you here fans of his?

Today our air conditioning stopped working well, it didn't die though, but it's obviously close. I called our landlord, who we adore, and she asked if we'd been using the upstairs and downstairs zones at the same time. Well yes, we have. It's 110 degrees where we are and we live in a 2 story house. She "reminded me" that the a/c zones can only be used one at a time due to the house being built by Lennar and having too small an a/c unit. However she definitely never told me this. She says she told my husband and wrote it down, he says no way, he'd remember this.

Either way, I'm paying 5k per month to live in a 2 story house that can only cool upstairs OR downstairs due to a small a/c unit. I'm not happy at all. People live in bedrooms upstairs and down. We use the entire house all day long. How are you going to tell me I can't cool my entire home? This should have been disclosed in the rental listing. They should have to tell you at the viewing. It's 110 here and will be for 2 more months.

What can we do in this situation? She can't do anything legally with the builder, it's been 12 years and she's not original owner. But really, I feel very betrayed and angry to find out the a/c doesn't cool the entire home. Am I out of line for being upset?

I'm currently staying in an adorable Airbnb in the suburbs of SFBay. When I booked this place months ago I was upset because the host sent me a welcome message that included info regarding their shower only offering about 10 minutes worth of hot water. I felt like that should be disclosed in the listing. I considered refunding over it but decided I would just deal.

FF I'm here now and the shower gives maybe 6 minutes of hot water. I think this is something other guests would want to know.

Another complaint is there is literally no where to get ready. The bathroom has this weird corner sink with just enough room for a toothbrush on either side. I can't set any makeup, can't plug in a curling iron, nothing. And it's just a studio so there's no other mirrors or places to get ready.

Finally the driveway is terrifying. The studio is located on a very mountainous, windy road. The driveway is kinda downhil but very short and when you pull into it there's a lip and you have to push your car over it by hitting the gas and then you worry you'll go through their garage. And backing out into cars driving 60 on a windy road is terrifying. I'm so glad my husband is with me because I could not do it. Even he's struggling and he never has issues with this type of thing.

ALL the reviews for this place are 5 star. They have a ton of reviews too. But not one mentions the hot water which I think is crazy. Are my complaints worth 4 stars? It's honestly a great place so I don't really want to hurt their rating. What if I left 5 stars but mentioned all these things? Is that fair?

Hi, I’m a 46-year-old woman in the early stages of perimenopause, and I have to ask if anyone else has experienced this symptom.

About six months ago, I started noticing that after I pee, a few minutes later it feels like I still have a little urine left. I go out of my way to make sure I completely empty my bladder—I’ll even sit there for an extra minute or so—but I still get that lingering feeling afterward.

I went to my doctor to make sure I didn’t have a UTI, and thankfully, I don’t. But it seems to be getting progressively more annoying.

Could this be related to perimenopause? Or is this just a “me” thing? 😂 I’ve always kind of prided myself on having a strong bladder, so this sudden change is really making me batty.

Has anyone else experienced something like this seemingly out of nowhere during perimenopause?

At the TJ Maxx clearance sale I purchased a Gaiam Makeup Brush Cleaner. I had always wanted one and it was $8. I used it for the first time today and it was underwhelming. First of all the instructions are confusing. It comes with a rubber disk and it kinda seems to say that you put that disk into the tub. Once you turn on the machine it goes so slow. And if you put even a touch of pressure onto the disk the spinning stops.

So am I not supposed to put in the disk? Is mine broken and that's why it spins so slowly? Honestly the brushes got pretty clean but I did not expect them to. But it seems maybe...Just maybe I'm doing something wrong?

I honestly cannot wrap my head around the newly created “triples” in EJ, which used to be doubles. They now have these tiny little tables that are supposed to serve as desks, but with no drawers or storage. If three grown men wanted to sit and study, there’s simply no way they could comfortably do.

And now I’m reading that there are only two wardrobes in the room, meaning two students have to share?

I understand that this is only one year of life, but it’s also an incredibly expensive year of life. These changes just aren’t sitting right with me. When you’re paying as much as families are paying, I think it’s reasonable to expect that students have adequate space to live, study, and store their belongings

I mentioned in a previous post that we're driving to the Botanic Garden today (2 hours drive) to see the trolls. After we're done where should we grab dinner? Nearish to the gardens. My husband is not an adventurous eater so think Italian, Mexican, American. What's good!

ETA: we came, we saw, we left. It took just over an hour to see all 12 Trolls. There's not much else to do there. I didn't realize the butterflies were an extra charge so we skipped that step. I loved every second! Highly recommend.

I'm re-bingeing for the 3rd time and I'm watching Motel California. In this episode Derek is quite literally as close to death as a werewolf can be. He somehow stumbles, bloody and broken, his way to Jennifer so she can save him. She brings him home and... they bang. Nearly dying, but they bang. Like wtf!!!

Then in the series finale the Anuk-ite is manipulating each person to get them to open their eyes. When it's Derek's turn it masquerades as the person Derek would be most emotionally attached to. The person he's lost who he would risk his life to see one more time. And it's...Jennifer. Not Paige, not Talia, not Laura...but Jennifer, who he dated maybe 3 times before she tried to kill him and those he cares for!!!

Jeff Davis may have gifted us Stiles Stilinski and Spencer Reid but he was often at times also very disappointing.

My son is going off to college in 2 weeks and plans to major in business. He really wants a MacBook Neo and I'm not sure I agree. He has an iPhone and likes that they connect to one another.

His college website says "a Windows PC is preferable but students do just fine with a Mac." Thanks for the help college
