Thunder Cross Stage 4 / R-Type Stage 3
I wonder if the designers of R-Type felt flattered or peeved when they saw this the year after their own take

Makaras Music - Mecha Blazer / re-imagined music for "Blazing Star" arcade shoot 'em up game
This is my re-imagined soundtrack for a 1998 Arcade game I've never played - but was impressed upon seeing a video clip of it recently
Suggest listening to this while watching the part of the game that inspired it - when the tiny enemy vehicle in the bottom-right ascends and transforms into a giant "Mecha" (hence the title of my track) -

Watching this video - and one of the games I haven't heard of in it struck me in how the eventual Transformers-type enemy first starts off as a small speck on the ground at the bottom-right - then gradually ascends to your level - then turns into a Mecha
https://youtu.be/CxNlyIpH8Lw?t=778 to 13:20
Edit - it really reminds me of "Dai-X" junction in "Star Fleet" (a.k.a. "X Bomber") - for those old enough to remember 1982 / 1983 television - and by God I used to fancy evil alien Commander Makara :-)

Makaras Music - Platforming Perfection / re-imagined music for Mega Man 2
Created upon request of a fellow gamer - but as I have never played any of the Mega Man games, I watched the below video of "Mega Man 2" -
Then after creating a re-imagining of "R-Type" boss encounters called "Boss Type" without using my Launchpad -
- I wondered what the same VSTs would sound like on the Launchpad...
...and they sounded rather "cute" compared to when playing them on the Yamaha arranger
So I used both instruments to make an alternative to the official Mega Man 2 music...
...and YES...my finger DID slip at 0:39 to 0:42
- so I improvised rather than start again ;-)

I can't find the thread now - but some clever person on this sub queried if the man in the GREEN circle was the Consul for Poldavia in "The Blue Lotus" - he does look very like him?
In the RED circle is that Tortilla?
If YES - then in the BLUE circle notice the HAT is a different shape
- and there seem to be TWO MEN stealing the idol? Or is the "rear man" just the shadow of the idol...?
Actually I guess it must be the shadow of the idol - as the idol's arm and the "other" larger arm match shape
I remember the Fetish contained a Diamond that was said to protect one from snakebite - but that's all
Was there any other information / historical influence for this element of the story?
I'm wondering if the Diamond is maybe influenced by one of those "cursed" historical stones - like the Hope Diamond where whoever owns it will suffer misfortune / or the Koh-i-noor bringing misfortune to men but OK to be worn by women

Makaras Music - Challenger 2026 / Re-imagining and Tribute to "Challenger 1985" music from Gradius
The original "Gradius" arcade game (known as "Nemesis" in the West) included what I consider one of the best pieces of music ever - "Challenger 1985" from the first level
This is my re-imagining of what the Gradius soundtrack might have sounded like had it been created now
- hence named as "Challenger 2026"
