Bravos handling of the 20th anniversary thus far has been so lackluster

I don't know why I was hoping that Bravo would put more bang in the 20th anniversary, especially leading up to the 20th season premiere....because they've done nothing that special to really hype up this season or anniversary. Maybe they're leaving it all for UGT?

I was expecting a new intro, a special shot promo like we used to get for shows, various photo shoots, having old cast members reunite and do promo.

I always wonder how Dana/Pam failed so badly in her Friend Of role in S2

Season 2 of RHOBH really started the trend of bringing in official Friends Of as sort of a test, including them in promotional photos and regular confessionals.

Of course Brandi and Pam were VERY different from one another and Brandi easily shot to the top but I always wonder where Dana exactly went wrong. Was it sticking too close to Taylor? Not really adventuring out to the other women? Being too desperate to try to get everyone to like her? She wasnt even invited to Hawaii, and maybe that was done so Taylor could have someone to film with but....who knows.

She's memorable enough for her brief appearances so it wasnt totally bad but seems like she stopped getting invited to things or whatever she did film was edited out later in the season.

Steven McBees list for an ideal woman lol

Steven McBee showed his list for the perfect partner and I could not laugh or roll my eyes any more.

It reads as if a child put it together and never grew up to experience the real world.

Jo-Ellen has set the new gold standards for receipts

Jo-Ellen has set the new gold standards when it comes to Housewives and receipts.

Every time she made an allegation, she was able to back it up with a clear cut receipt/screenshot/video/etc....

I need ALLLLLLL Housewives to learn from Jo-Ellen. The days of "your husbands a cheater! you're dating an African prince! Your husbands gay!" need to be over if you can't produce anything near legitimate. Those "reads" are tired. Lay them to rest.

Can't produce it, don't bother bringing it up.

RHORI: Rulla&Brian are one of the worst liars on Bravo "I can't comment on that"

This reunion was so bad for Rull and especially Brian. It was beyond embarrassing that he tried to use his "NDA" and lawsuit to dodge questions.

Brian did you buy this purse for Rulla? Brian "Unfortunately, I can't comment on that because of the lawsuit/NDA"

Brian when did you end the affair? Brian "unfortunately, I can't comment on that because of the lawsuit/NDA"

Not to mention that they can't even get their marriage dates correct. Rulla says 2010, he says 2012...the courts say something different.....

It's almost as if they have a humiliation kink.

The costuming of Supergirl: The Movie

I've seen the film. I gave it a 6.5.....7/10. I didn't downright hate it or love it.

But my biggest gripe with this film outside of cinematography was the costuming and style choices presented to us throughout said film.

There was zero inspiration taken with this one. Anna B. Sheppard has done Maleficent, Captain America TFA, Inglorious Bastards, Spiderman FFH, so especially doing a mythic piece such as Maleficent, I was hoping she would deliver something otherworldly but she did not.

The Kryptonians are just in basic white/beige drapes all the while wearing what look like sneakers.

Rutheye is in a jacket you can find at Kohls and gloried looking uggs. Lacking her interesting headpiece.

Karas spaceoutfit when she is sent off to Earth ......is very 70s "futuristic" but just aesthetically pleasing. Especially when coming from a society that is supposed to be far more advanced than Earth

Hot take: Bravo hasn't changed (that much), you've just outgrown Bravo

Seeing a lot of thought pieces on how "right leaning" or "maga" leaning Bravo is today compared to the "goldenyears" and I am sad to say......Bravo isnt any different today than it was 10 or 20 years ago in regards to who they hire or what they cancel.

Reality TV did not rise in popularity because it was something that safe. It was messy, it was problematic and that is exactly what has kept it going all these years.

Southern Charm started in 2014, it cast a certain Thomas Ravenel who was very republican. very sexist. likely racist. Half of the men hooked up with Kathryn who was 22 at the time.

Vanderpump Rules birthed Stassi. Just as they birthed Jax. Birthed James Kennedy. Both were terrible to those around them, especially women. Kristen let it be known about what she experienced dating James.

Below Deck has spent majority of its time on tv rotating around crew members hooking up. The men often being very misogynistic.

We had Mar tina was a known transphobe on RHOM. Caroline Stanbury was connected to Epstein and Prince Andrew. AnneMarie was republican and a transphobe. Ramona/Luann/Brandi/Nene/Marlo/Theresa/Joe G/Candiace/Kathy Hilton have all been accused of problematic behavior.

RHOBH continued to film Taylor and Russell Armstrong despite the claims of him being a domestic abuser.

Bravo has canceled a lot of fan fave shows that didn't go on that long:

  • RHOM after 3 seasons.
  • Mexican Dynasties, NYC Prep, RHODC, Gallery Girls, MDLM after 1 season
  • Its a Brad Brad Brad World, Blood Sweat and Heels, Marthas Vinyard after 2 seasons

And out of ALLLLLLLLLL of those 20 years of programming....only 15 shows have survived past 5 seasons before getting canceled. Only 14 are 10 seasons and ongoing. Only 2 are at 5/6 seasons and everything else is 4 or below.

All of this to say: Bravo hasn't changed that much, some have just outgrown Bravo and the people that they put on shows and will continue to put on shows. Just as they will continue to make VERY STUPID programming decisions such as putting Ladies of London (the best show this year), RHOM, MV, and more on ice.

RHOBH S5 - what could have been w/Christine Chiu test filming for a diamond

It's always interesting that Christine Chiu was up for a diamond in Season 5 of RHOBH and was doing some test shooting with Brandi back in the day. She of course would be beat out by Rinna and Eileen.

Though I do think she ultimately mightve been toooo nice for the show based off of what I remember of her on Bling Empire.

Is the nightmare over? (Probably not) Brandi Glanville diagnosed w/benign tumor

Brandi has finally gotten a diagnosis that may help clear up her face and constant health scares.

A doctor found a benign tumor in one of her lymphnodes.

Her lil "parasite" may be finally on it's way out after she receives proper medical care.

Let's talk about the paycheck! OC salaries revealed! *allegedly*

I went down a rabbit to round up most of the news of various Housewives salaries throughout the years.

Of course, I did not cover EVERY single HW there was, even some big ones because im lazy like that. Some are straight from the HWs mouths themselves, others are from lawsuits/divorces, and others are from radaronline so take them all for whatever you want.

West Coast v East Coast: Which spin-off is doing adulting better?

The Valley v In The City

How are we feeling about The Valley compared In The City?

Both are spin offs of shows that started about young adults and are now transitioning into their 30s/40s and becoming parents.

Brittany/Kristen/Jax were the OG anchors of The Valley while Amanda/Lindsay/Kyle are used as the anchors for In The City.

What do we think each are doing better than the other and could learn from?

The DiC opening brings a totally different vibe to the show

It's crazy how a little rearranging can bring on a totally different vibe. Luckily for DiC they already had the entire season so they knew what was coming vs planning the show out but opening the show with the destruction of the Silver Millenium and QS sending everyone to Earth, along with the narration (that probably should've been Artemis or Luna narrating tbh) automatically gives the show a mythical space opera vibe.

Even though we know who the Princess is and that there are other Sailor Scouts, it was surprisingly didn't ruin things once everything and everyone was revealed.

Of course not having any of that spoiled for the audience brings about other fun surprises and experiences throughout the show.

How RHOBH helped spawn so much Bravo programming

It's crazy to think that when RHOBH started that it would impact Bravo as much as it has.

RHOBH via LVP brought us VPR

VPR brought us Summer House and The Valley. The Valley is now franchising w/TV:PS and other possible The Valley iterations.

Summer House brought us Winter House/Martha's Vineyard/In The City

MV/WH didn't work out unfortunately but they're still attempting to do more Summer House locations
