What Revised Destinations/World Drop weapons are you using?

I'm really enjoying Chroma Rush (The Splicer AR from World Drops.), Biting Winds (The Europan Bow from Europa.), and Synchronic Roulette (The Neomuni SMG from Neptune.). And I'm looking at the craftable Destinations weapons that I haven't Shaped in years wandering which may be worth it.

Fel Taradiddle, the Bow from Savathuun's Throne World has Shoot to Loot + Adhesive Ordanance. That seems interesting.

Dimensional Hyptrpchoid, the heavy Wave-Frame GL from Neomuna Rimestealer + Crystalline Corpsebloom. That could be a Legendary Salvation's Grip.

I'm not seeing anything else that raises an eyebrow for myself.

What stats are you going for, for Shards of Galanor?

I've got a set of Iron Battalion + Shards of Galanor that can get 150 Super, 150 Weapon, 80 Melee, and 80 Class. Of course with On Your Mark that means I can get 200 Weapons. And I could fit two Super Fonts to get to 190 Super.

Is this the best stat distribution or should I be maxxing out my Super instead of Weapons?

I can do 100 Weapons and 180 Super. Then with one Super Font I'll get 200 Super. But I could only get up to 150 Weapons with On Your Mark. 190 Weapons if I slap on two Weapon Font mods.

The best part about On Your Mark is we can finally refresh Restoration on ourselves with any kill. No more Ember of Empyrean!

It's great! And it really leans into the weapon expert of Gunslinger. Any gun that crits will charge your OYM and then procc Resto!

I also really really like Wormhusk Crown for the ability to refresh Resto and get heavy Cure. And the only damage boost outside of Stats for Gunpowder Gamble, Deadshot, and Crackshot.

I just need to get the idea out of my core that running Wormhusk Crown means I MUST take a Solar primary... I don't need to, but there's a worm in my head about it.

What did Ghost do inbetween looking for us before he found us?

He was looking for us for a long time, and did a lot of things along the way. We know this because he says he's been a lot of things before being our ghost. He even almost resurrected Master Chief in the Tangled Shore before meeting us. So what kind of stuff did he do?

The Whirling Maelstrom build is almost perfect. All it needs now is a way to make Orbs of Power.

With Moirai we can duplicate every Tangle we produce.

With Yearning Echo we can increase our Tangle damage.

With Whirling Maelstrom we can transform every Tangle into a damaging whirlpool of Unraveling Strand.

With Tablet of Ruin we can Sever and provide Woven Mail with our Tangles. Using Vile Weave to add Sever to Tangles and reduce our Tangle cooldown upon retrieving one, and To Shreds to make defeated Severed targets spread Woven Mail to allies.

With Thread of Fury and Generation we can produce lots of Melee and Grenade energy.

But we are missing the final piece. Turning the kills we get with Whirling Maelstrom into Orbs of Power. By using Implement of Curiosity, we can combine Tangled Web and Thread of Wisdom to Suspend targets near a where a Tangle is created and then create an Orb of Power by defeating those Suspended targets. But by doing this, we lose the tremendous amount of both Woven Mail and Sever that is provided by the Tablet of Ruin. And it is not a worthy trade. You do make plenty of Orbs of Power with your Threaded Spike because you can toss so many thanks to Moirai's extra Melee energy from Tangleless catches and the Thread of Fury. But Whirling Maelstrom is going to get many more kills than Threaded Spike.

Did any Hive ever try to defect to Eris' "brood"?

The God of Vengeance doesn't have a brood and she doesn't need one. But as a Hive God that demonstrated enough power to sever the God of War from her Throne World, surely some Hive would've wanted to place their bets of Eris. There must be a small group of Hive fellas somewhere trying to tithe to the God of Vengeance and are just getting ignored. Like a gathering of ants giving a chip to a dragon. I'm surprised Bungie didn't align Luzaku with Eris.

I don't think she would choose to on her own. But I do think she would do it if Zavalla asked her to.

I am so grateful for all the buffs to Hunter across these last ~12 months.

To name just a few that I feel are the most significant, in no particular order:

  • Shatterdive can give Frost Armour
  • Ensaring Slam can give Woven Mail
  • Widow's Silk's grapple points fly upwards and may be made on targets
  • Combination Blow works with Tempest Strike
  • Lethal Current works with Tempest Strike and Arc-Staff
  • On The Prowl periodically marks targets automatically
  • Trapper's Ambush can kill things and give Devour
  • The new Phantom Surge melee that gives Void Overshield
  • Deadfall now applies the strongest weaken and attaches to the target, and lasts longer
  • Mobius Quiver does actual damage
  • Marksman does good damage and Scorches
  • Deadshot refunds ammo on any kill and Scorches
  • A Solar Aspect that can apply Scorch and give Cure, Crackshot
  • On Your Mark can give Restoration
  • Gunpowder Gamble now rewards you for shooting it, big bomb

That's without mentioning any of the exotic buffs and reworks. Like:

  • Wormhusk Crown giving Cure, Restoration, and Solar ability damage
  • Shinobu's Vow suddenly being a Bolt Charge printer
  • Celestial Nighthawk being good again
  • Shards of Galanor making Blade Barrage into a nuke
  • Speedloader Slacks granting Class ability energy upon dealing sustained damage
  • Crytarachne's Facade healing you when you gain Woven Mail or get a kill with it active (even if it's still a miniscule amount)

It's crazy to think how many substantial changes Hunter has gone through this last year alone. All of them were desperately needed and many of us were asking for them or something like them for years. I'm so happy to have gotten them. Especially because this is the final version. It feels like we Hunters can now tackle the same content as Titan and Warlock could for so long. That we don't get pushed away anymore. That we're valuable members of the team. For more than just going Invisible to resurrect people when they die. Whether it's effective survivability, strong debuffs on the enemy, or high damage output. We finally have options.

Quicksilver Storm can trigger License to Thrill

It'll not obvious to many because the perk specifically names the Nanotech Tracer Missiles Origin Trait, and Quicksilver Storm has the perk name Missile Tracers. But it does work. Sometimes Bungie's synergies impress me. Quicksilver Storm is an old, mostly forgotten weapon. Yet they still plugged it in.

What's the best Strand Legendaries now?

I don't have many Strand weapons for some reason. What should I chase? I have a Rufus's Fury (Adept) with Demolitionist and Target Lock. Something I've held onto for the last 3 years since Lightfall and upgraded to Tier 5. It's always a good one to fall on but I want some options. Like, I think I'm lacking a potent Strand Heavy and I want a good primary with some Strand perks.

The intrinsic Stasis Shard creation is much better for Touch of Winter.

We may now intrinsically create Stasis Shards by defeating Slowed or Frozen targets and destroying Stasis Crystals with Stasis equipped. Whereas previously, Hunter couldn't make Stasis Shards from Stasis Crystals. This is good for Touch of Winter because it adds extra Stasis Crystals to 3 of the Stasis grenades.

  • Coldsnap may make up to 6 Stasis Crystals. That's 6 free Stasis Shards and 6 stacks of Frost Armour from Grim Harvest
  • Glacier may make 7 Stasis Crystals. That's a full load of Frost armour with Grim Harvest for free
  • Duskfield can make a Stasis Crystal

Needless to say this effect makes Touch of Winter a more enticing choice.

VI is a Star Wars fan. And Bael may be a cannon event.

Canonically, Destiny is supposed to have the same history as our world. Apart from Lodi's agency, The Department of External Observations. Assumingly. Right up until 2014 when the Traveller arrived in Sol and changed our direction. Which means that at least the first 6 Star Wars movies existed in the Destiny Universe. However, Lodi was pulled from history before they were released.

VI and the rest of the Nine all posses the ability to see all of time. To the extent that they can manipulate occurrences to achieve a favourable outcome. Which means it is likely that VI watched Star Wars. Not only that, but it means VI would have been capable of manipulating the development of the Barant Imperium so that they come out similar to the Empire. VI is cosplaying Star Wars.

Furthermore, it is impossible to know whether or not the sequal movies to Star Wars were ever made in the divergent history of post 2014 Destiny. So it is impossible to know if Kylo Ren was made. If he was, then VI wanted its own little Ren to play with. But if not, and the uncanny similarities between the two had no catalyst. Then Kylo Ren/Dredgen Bael is a cannon event in Human history. And this brat will appear in some manner no matter what.

The only interesting thing from this really, is the creation of the Praxic Blade. Which predates Bael and VI's bromance. Perhaps the Praxics were inspired by Star Wars to create an actual Lightsabre. Or perhaps even Lightsabres/Praxic Blades are a Cannon event in Human History.

TLDR: Humans cannot help but make brats with glow sticks and apparently VI likes it.

Did Mercury and IO not ever return from the Ascendent Plane?

With the Dissenters dead, Savathuun our enemy again, and the Nine being rather bothersome. We have no means, allies or knowledge to bring these celestial bodies back to Sol.

Unless Aisha the Last Leviathan possesses the knowledge.

Whomever reworked Shinobu's Vow, were they aware that Bolt Charge stacks also already give melee energy? Because this exotic is now the best ability spam build for Hunter and is so much fun.

Receiving Grenade and Melee energy from Bolt Charge. Class regeneration from Flow State. Energy for all abilities and Super energy all from Ionic Traces and Elemental Siphon. Ionic Traces from Luminopotent.

I don't just want to play one build. But this thing is so tickly for my brain.

The life cycle of Threadlings.

Since the addition of Threadling Nests to the game, a more clear purpose of the Threadling within the Weave can be discerned.

There are two ways to produce a Threadlings Nest. Killing an enemy with the Service of Luzaku machine gun, and weaving one out of a Threadling grenade with Mindspun Invocation. The very existence of a Threadling Nest suggests that Threadlings have a life cycle.

Threadling Nests are notably produced by a concentration of Strand energy that undergoes a sudden rapid change, similar to a Tangle but with order. Every living thing possesses a connection to the Weave and when a life is cut from it that Strand Matter within them is released and can take one of three states. This Matter can dissipate back into the Weave as Energy, or it can attempt to be re-woven into a Threadling Nest. Threadling Nests are complex Strand structures capable of weaving new Threadlings from loose Strand Matter amongst the Weave. But if a Threadling Nest fails to be created, the resulting Strand Matter gets tangled up into what we know as a Tangle. Mindspun Invocation creates these Threadling Nests by re-weaving the existing Strand Matter contained within the Threadling grenade into a Threadling Nest. But this process is not the natural occurrence and is inspired by the orderly process of the Service of Luzaku.

When an enemy is defeated with Service of Luzaku and when a Warlock charges a Threadling grenade, they are inciting change within the Strand energy of the target. As like when a Threadling Nest naturally occurs, these methods organise the targeted Strand Matter into a structure.

Threadling Nest structures absorb loose Strand Matter and weave them into Threadlings that are then released. When naturally occurring these Threadlings have a singular purpose, navigating the strands of the Weave to collect loose Strand Matter and return it to the Nest. Whenever a Threadling returns with loose matter, that Threadling and its captured Strand Matter is destroyed. Some of the Strand Matter is rewoven into a new Threadling, but the rest is transformed into Strand Energy which is redistributed into the Weave. This new Threadling will repeat the process.

After a while of incubation, where the Nest repeatedly produces Threadlings and releases Strand Energy, the internal structure of the Nest will collapse and the whole thing will become a Tangle. Then, when the remaining Threadling return to the nest they attack the Tangle to destroy it and themselves. Dissipated all the remaining Strand Matter into Strand Energy.

This whole process is a naturally occurring system that keeps the Weave clean of loose matter. Loose matter occurring, as previously discussed, when something dies. No living thing is ever normally aware of their own Threads connecting them to the Weave, as this matter is an extradimentional substance out of phase with the physical world.

When an individual summons a Threadling, that Threadling instinctively seeks a source of Strand Matter for collection, but ultimately fails its task and dies. This is what we know as the target seeking and explosive nature of the Threadling we use in battle. And when we force a Threadling Nest to mature into a Tangle with Service of Luzaku, we do this by feeding the nest with Strand Matter. Producing excess Threadling before we collapse its structure to create a Tangle.

TLDR: Threadlings are a naturally occuring janitor.

What I think is the technology that defines each major faction of Sol.

Humanity's definitive technology is Quicksilver Nanites. The further advanced and considerably more powerful evolution of Siva itself is a fundamental resource for Neomuna and entered circulation across the rest of Humanity after the events of Lightfall. This technology can follow advanced commands for construction and has even demonstrated an affinity for Strand, perhaps due to its inception in such close proximity to the Veil.

The Eliksni have demonstrated an exceptional ability to utilise any technology but have a shown a specialty with Holographics. The Eliksni have created Hard Light Hologram constructs with offensive capabilities that may even copy the weapons of their host. Their Servitors may even utilise their Hard Light Holographic technologies by integrating it with Ether to produce an impenetrable shield around the Eliksni.

The Vex are well known for their most powerful technology. Their ability to simulate reality with unfathomable accuracy to the point that can see the past, predict the future, and theoretically cross time. This simulation technology is indistinguishable from reality with the only thing that may allow one to distinguish it is the paracausal forces that hold the universal together and the Vex's inability to simulate something that ignores causality.

The Hive have developed technologies that are indistinguishable from magic. Possibly because of their age as a species and available time for development. Their most notable is Soulfire. This caustic energy can be harvested from the dead and used to fuel the Hive's machines and spells. This ability to turn their foes into a source of power enables the Hive to ruthlessly slaughter whatever they desire and find a use for what remains.

The Cabal have a shown a resourceful use of combustion technology. Having developed a fuel they cannot only consume but also use to power their intergalactic ships and literal planet eating mega structures. They either have the greatest stubbornness to get the most use out of any single material, or a desperate need for a resource that can fulfill all their needs.

The Scorn, Taken, and Dread all inherit the technology of their makers and have shown little to no ability to produce their own inventions.

The use of Renewal Grasps.

What Renewal Grasps does: Your Duskfield grenades have a 25% increased radius and produces a Medium Stasis Crystal. Both these effects stack with Touch of Winter for greater effect. Additionally, enemies inside the volume of your Duskfield grenades deal 50% less damage and allies within the volume gain a stack of Frost Armour every 0.5 seconds.

This was one of my favourite exotics years ago. It used to have one of the only ways to reduce an enemy's outgoing damage and it had a unique source of escalating damage resistance. Bungie panicked because of PvP and nerfed it's grenade regeneration substantially. But then Stasis' little brother Strand came along with Sever, which eventually became a 40% outgoing damage reduction. It later received Frost Armour in the stead of its unique damage resistance, and its energy regeneration was un-nerfed. This added some more subclass synergy potential and increased its potential damage resistance from a maximum of 30% to a whopping 50%. At the same time, Spirit of Renewal was released on Relativism, which gave the outgoing damage reduction and Frost Armour to Prismatic's Duskfield grenade, but without the radius increase or Stasis Crystal. Later came Exhaust, another way to reduce an enemy's damage output but only by 10%. Now, we also have more ways to earn Frost Armour than ever before. From Artifact Perks, Fragments, Aspects, Armour Set Bonuses, and Weapon Perks. Which means that throwing Renewal Grasps at your feet is not the best way to earn its damage resistance anymore.

Therefore the intended use of Renewal Grasps may appear to be throwing it at a powerful target to apply the single largest outgoing damage reduction in the game, from a distance. However, Duskfield grenade lasts a maximum of 9 seconds and has a 48 second recharge time at 100 Grenade Stat. This encourages heavy investment into Grenade energy generation to maintain Renewal Grasps for its intended purpose. This is drastically outclassed by Sever, which while reducing the outgoing damage of the target by 10% less than Renewal Grasps, lasts a maximum of 15 seconds and has many more ways to be applied. From Abilities, Artifact Perks, and Weapon Perks.

So the best use of Renewal Grasps is actually face tanking. Together the 50% outgoing damage reduction and the maximum damage resistance of 50% make any player that is within a Renewal Grasps Duskfield at the same time as the enemy take only 25% of the damage that the enemy would deal.

To use Renewal Grasps is to throw a Duskfield grenade at an enemy and join them within the volume for a 1 on 1 smack down. In an arena where you have every advantage. Take a Shotgun, Fusion Rifle, Glaive or Sword, rival the Arcstrider with your close quarters combat.

I rarely see Renewal Grasps be used anymore. Likely because better options have been introduced since its inception. However it still presents a unique play style and I wanted to share it with you.

TLDR: Use Renewal Grasp to bear knuckle fight.

I'm so greatful that there's shaders, ghost shells, and sparrows in the world pools again.

It feels so good to get these rewards when you don't expect it or even know about it. It's a crucial part of the game that I feel we were missing for a few years. Randomly getting a Shax shell from Crucible, some shaders from Sparrow Racing and such. Feels so good.
