I'm in a touring band and need Eastern Pennsylvania Music Venues Recommendations!

Hey y'all. My band Cherokee Social is going on a massive 50 date US tour this fall and I need to book a show on either September 17th or 18th in Pennsylvania. Philadelphia is preferred but we can make anything work. I've found the locals usually have a better feel for the music scene than just googling music venues in the area. We are a high energy indie pop act and so we are looking for something that has a decent sound system.

Any ideas are greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Local Show Discovery

My band is touring through Sioux Falls and we’re trying to figure out the best ways to get the word out about our show.

For those of you who regularly go to local shows/concerts, how do you usually find out about them? Local Instagram/Facebook pages, venues, flyers, Reddit, local music calendars, word of mouth, something else?

We’d love to promote the show in ways that actually reach people who are into live music, so any recommendations for local pages, groups, calendars, venues, or other resources would be hugely appreciated. Thanks!

Lawrence folks: how do you hear about local shows?

Curious how people around Lawrence usually find out about live music. Is it mostly this subreddit, Instagram, flyers around town, word of mouth, venue calendars, or something else?

I’m asking because my band, Cherokee Social, will be playing at The Replay Lounge on September 9th, and I realized I don’t really know the best way to reach folks who are actually looking for shows to go to.

So, Lawrence — where do you usually discover a show that you end up going to?

Touring band passing through — what should we do/eat/see in Sioux Falls?

Hey Sioux Falls! A few of us are coming through town with our band in September and we’ll have a little time to kill while we’re there.

What are the must-do / must-see / must-eat things in Sioux Falls that we shouldn’t miss? We’re down for weird local spots, good food, cool bars, record stores, outdoorsy stuff, touristy things, whatever you think is worth checking out.

We’re playing at The Den on September 10th, so we’ll be around town for a bit and would love to get a feel for the place beyond just loading in and playing a show.

What would you recommend to a bunch of first-timers?

First time in Norfolk—what should we check out before our show at The Annex?

Hey r/norfolk!

My band, Cherokee Social, is coming through Norfolk on October 19th to open for Ian McConnell at The Annex, and it'll be our first time really getting to explore the city.

We'll have most of the day free before load-in, so we'd love some recommendations from locals. What are the can't-miss spots? Favorite coffee shops, record stores, bookstores, restaurants, breweries, waterfront spots, parks, museums, vintage shops, music venues, or any hidden gems we should check out while we're in town?

We're always trying to experience the cities we play instead of just rolling in for soundcheck and heading out after the show. We'd especially love to hear about places that feel uniquely Norfolk.

If you're already planning on coming out to see Ian McConnell at The Annex, we'd love for you to catch our set too and come say hi afterward!

Thanks in advance—we're excited to visit Norfolk!
