Replacing old worn out bungees.

Replacing old worn out bungees.

I have this old Pelican sit in kayak. Been letting my buddy use it so I have someone to fish with. Still works fine except the bungees on the front and rear that hold the hatch on have lost their stretch. Is it possible to replace these? Anyone ever done it? The front I can see there's just like some metal clips on the ends in the holes to hold them in. The back is more like rivets.

Essential accessories.

My Meta Quest 3 arrives today. This is my first VR headset so I'm totally clueless to all this. I plan to use it mainly for sim racing on iRacing and Assetto Corsa as well as Microsoft Flight Simulator 24. I'm sure I'll find other uses for it as well but those are the main two. What essential accessories would you recommend? I already bought a link cable with charging port so I can keep it charged while playing and not have to worry too much about batteries. Don't plan on using it any further than a couple feet from my desk. Also downloaded the VR Desktop software to my PC. I have a pretty capable PC, 9800X3D & 5080, but I'm just curious what other things you guys would recommend I get for my use cases.

What net is everyone using?

I've been losing a lot of fish right next to my kayak while waiting for them to stop thrashing about so I can lip them. I think a net would help a lot here. Any recommendations? Something foldable and can easily be kept in a rod holder would be nice.

Mainly fish for largemouth and some smallies, crappie and other panfish. Nothing toothy.

Only the original cable that came with my Hero 4 Silver seems to work.

I'm trying to setup my GoPro to record my kayak fishing adventures. I'm having an issue though. I have an Anker battery bank that could power it for a very long time. Way longer than batteries. But the only cable that works is the original USB-A to mini 5 pin USB that came with my GoPro. Which is very short. I tried buying a longer cable, didn't work. I bought the Suptig power bank for it and the waterproof housing they make, none of those cables worked. Is this normal? Why are none of these cables working to power it?

Well, didn't break off any fish todsy.

Let the drag do its thing and results were much better. Had a great day. Caught like 10 fish, but i did lose 3 at the kayak from the fish shaking the hook. Is this a common thing? All three were on a 5 inch senko on a 3/0 offset shank worm hook. Fought em to the boat, kept the tension on them, but that one last held shake and they threw the hook. Anything I can do to help avoid that?

Also, did this fish get its tail bitten off or is this from making a bed?

How to get this tone?

How can I get that tone Julian Cifuentes uses during his solo at 1:35. It's just so like, choppy. I don't know how else to describe it but I really dig it. I'm sure I can get close with the gear I have. Probably with my Jackson SL2Q MAH with Seymour Duncan TB-6 and SH-6N and all the stuff I have access to with my HX Stomp. Just not sure like what amps, pedals, settings etc etc to use. Any ideas?

Those of you using the Meta Quest 3, what are some must haves for a good sim racing experience? I sit only like 5 feet from my PC so I definitely want a cable that will link and charge so I don't have to worry about batteries, any recommendations? What else should I get?

Seriously how has this not been fixed yet? I have tried so many times with so many different washers, heads, soap, swirl force, angles, everything and I can not get past 99%. This game has been out for like 6 months, it's a known issue and still isn't fixed. FIX IT PLEASE! Also any weird tips that I maybe haven't tried yet because this is driving me nuts.

What shape did you use? I got some Kydex sheets and marine Goop, want to make a hull protector for my Quest Teton 100 but not sure what shape I should make.

I have an old Hero 4 that still works great so I don't really see the need to replace it. I use it for fishing and recording my band. Issue is I bought some batteries from Amazon, a 3 pack, but they don't last long at all. Yesterday while fishing I ran through all 3 batteries in like 2 hours. Running at 1440p 30fps. Would dropping to 1080p make them last longer? I have some Anker power banks I use to charge my phone and ROG Ally while traveling, would using those work better than these cheap Amazon batteries?

I lost 3 solid fish yesterday because my line broke near the fish's mouth. I have always used 8lb mono on my spinning setup and never had an issue. I can't seem to figure out why I kept breaking off. The only difference is the rod. I grabbed one of those Lews American Hero spinning combos from Dicks to try out. Seems like a great rod and I don't think it was the rods fault since the line broke close to the fish's mouth. They were definitely bass, I saw all three of them before breaking off. The first one I assume it was because the fish ran under my kayak and the line kind of got caught on one of the tracks on my kayak, but the other two were in open water. I was using a texas rigged senko on a 3/0 offset shank worm hook. Same thing I have been using for years without issue. I mean maybe my drag wasn't set right but even still could a like 3 pound bass just break 8lb line with the drag cinched down? I dunno, I'm just kind of flabbergasted, never broke off that many fish in a morning of fishing.
