Pro-tip: maybe check your calcium and potassium levels sometimes and dont eat bananas all that much :)

Just found out the hard way that most common classes of anti-hypertension meds (diuretics, adrenaline-related i.e. beta-blockers and angiotensin-related) make your body hold onto potassium.

And potassium and calcium are antagonists, meaning one stops the other from being absorbed properly.

And bananas are healthy snacks, but them being also rich in potassium means oneday you will find out white stripes on your nails, because that is your body's way of signaling you your potassium levels are sad.

Moral of the story: dont be like me, do your blood check from time to time and read, read and read again, how do your meds work and what do you need to be aware of when taking them, because not all doctors will tell you that.

How do apples like that end up with that hollowness on their lower end? Is this because the outer layer grows too fast and the inner layer (i.e. stem or something?) cant catch up? Or how?

No, I did not eat this part, and I did not touch it much either. The peel looked completely fine, and the rest of banana had no problems. I am mostly just curious about what might have been the cause
