high rn and wondering how regular it is cuz sometimes it does feel kinda weird even though it’s not the first time but it’s chill right ?

I live in LA so I’m lucky to have a strong hyperpop and rave scene , but most local raves just have terrible ,repetitive , uninspired techno hardstyle house music ..

I can’t help but imagine how much cooler and hype it would be if I was at a rave that played some cooler music .

are there any dariacore type raves or festivals out there ? (not just LA , but in the world in general.. I would pay so much to go to one tbh )

it made the rounds in like 2017-2020 as a meme but I believe it was originally probably a real ad , if I was to guess between the 90s to 2000s but the quality of the version I saw was very crunchy and distorted. I remember there was like a happy face , it must have been a local chain, not something too big as I can’t remember the name of it . My friend said it was a burger restaurant. it was animated . does anyone know where I could find it , is it lost media or had this now been found ?

it seems in the last year or so, out of nowhere all of my favorite artists once “underground “ now are having their ticket sales scalped to upwards of hundreds of dollars. specifically happening today with ninajirachi, but I’ve experienced this with Lucy bedroque, Jane remover , slayr, bleood, kuru, Geese, etc.

why is this happening? Is it just my bad luck of the draw living in LA where everyone is too tapped in and tickets go quick? Is it purely because of scalping ? im glad these artists are getting attention don’t get me wrong, but I feel as though they’re still not popular enough to justify these insane prices. Sure they’re highly coveted and praised in underground circles but that’s it … I guess these scalpers just see the hype and take advantage ?

it just really sucks that now only the rich can afford these tickets when I’ve been listening to them and supporting them for years . I wish there was some kind of regulation with this . Sorry this is kind of a venting post it’s Just been frustrating for the last few months putting up with this .

i guess the only option is just being well connected in these circles to have early access.

this last part is gonna sound pretentious but there has got to be some sort of system where you can apply for early tickets based on how big of a fan you are , either with how much you listen or how long , not sure how they would measure it.

im tired of LARP bandwagon rich kids getting all the tickets to these shows just to take a video of the artist’s TikTok hit or whatever and then be completely disrespectful to true fans .
even when I went to see HUM at slide away fest this past weekend there was some drunken people saying “wait what’s this band called?” Like seriously ?! You spent 70$ to go to a festival for bands you don’t even know ?! meanwhile the rest of us have to budget for months to have the extra money to spend on these shows ?!!

I went to the Friday LA date and the lady selling said they’re signed copies , I didn’t see any signatures other than the number of what poster it was I think? did she just lie to me or is the signature the count

I assume not because they would probably get in trouble with the law but maybe there’s a chance it is true ?

I stopped watching around season 5 when I was in like 4th grade cuz my parents stopped paying for cable , finally started it again the last year and finally finished . I really enjoyed the ending but it felt a bit rushed, I feel like there could have been more build up to it , just was a bit abrupt . is that just me or does anyone else feel that way about it ? excited to start distant lands and Fiona and cake tho!

i grew up an only child so maybe I’m just not used to having to share my time doing things I don’t want to do . but lately I’ve been frustrated spending hours watching boring TV shows with my girlfriend and going out to clubs with her friends when I could be writing music or hiking or playing video games … is this just the sacrifice of having a girlfriend ? we’ve been together 4 years but I really started feeling this the last 2 years . i think about it often . Especially when work comes into the picture , I’d rather be spending money on what I want and my goals instead of food and gas to drive to go out to pick up her friends or for overpriced drinks at bars .
