The best date that didn't happen... (Swipe ->)
She was admitted in the hospital, I was traveling to BLR for work. I had matched a few days ago, and we had planned it out. Unfortunately she needed more time to recover, and by that time I wasn't in BLR so we couldn't meet up 😢
Has someone else's career become just vibe coding as well?

I'm working as a "Gen AI developer" for a company that provides AI solutions to non technical clients - think fortune 500 companies.
It's awesome from a WLB pov - I hardly do 2 hrs of actual work and the rest is just pretending to be busy/grabbing coffee/learning and upskilling.
But I'm shocked at the type of work I'm doing and how much I'm getting paid for it. My entire work revolves around listening to my manager's feedback, noting it down and then giving all the instructions to claude cowork and letting it rip.
Day in, Day out. There's no testing done either, as for the type of solutions we provide (Open AI agent fetches client data and answers questions) there's no mess ups on claude's part as it's simple enough and claude is really good. Heck a coworker of mine didn't want/know how to delete node modules and he just asked claude to do it in the project directory without even opening vscode.
I've tried doing things the "old school" way - going through codebase, coding new features myself - but the clients and the management want features added/changed on a whim.
They'll discuss a feature on Monday morning and want it on Tuesday. And when I say I need more time to code, the answer is always "just give it to claude, we're on a timeline"
Now the speed of claude is the new default. Gone are the days where I could ask claude to do something and then slack off for a week after reviewing the output. Now that's the default.
The actual bottleneck is that the management/client connect at most once a day, hence that gives a breather. If the clients and management were more active, I'm sure we'd be running claude and creating entire products a week. Now even if you were an expert programmer with intact braincells, the amount and pace of work would force you to use claude.
The clients are now asking for "3 seniors with claude pro" to work on the project rather than a team of 15 freshers.
I don't know how long the gravy train will last, at this point a firefly teams bot + claude + wisprflow automation could very well replace me at my job.
I may have overclocked too hard
Turned on PBO in the bios and now this happened
Is there a term for "I don't want you to do better from now on, I'd wanted you to act right from the beginning"?
So many people give you the shit treatment as the default, then when you stand your ground/dish it back to them they're all of a sudden remorseful talking about "hey it's just me, I'm stupid and make mistakes, blah blah" - bitch no.
I don't want to interact with you anymore, and no amount of this fake remorse is in any way useful.
Unlike what y'all say, a girl can't get laid easily even if she wanted to
I was hanging out with my friend who's recently single again. She's pretty, has great pictures/sm and is interesting to talk to. (No I'm not sharing her deets, don't even think of dming)
Like a solid 7. She tried looking for a rebound/fling, and was complaining about the experience.
I was like you guys, with my male POV and knowledge of the dating app dynamics, and confidently declined to believe it.
We were hanging out and drinking with our friends, and she just handed me her phone and asked me to find a decent fling for her for tomorrow within 3 hrs. We're in a tier one city with a crore people within 40kms. How hard could it be?
I accepted. I made the most thinly veiled hookup profile. I couldn't go all out because then I myself would think it were a scam.
"Something casual" / "figuring out my dating goals"
"Looking for a good time not a long time"
I put up 2 of her semi thirst traps as well.
There were 100s of likes. Her filters were reasonable, within her age range, taller than her and within her league. I was just being a matchmaker, unbiased.
She didn't have premium, so the guys who were sending superlikes/comments/roses had a clear edge once I exhausted the free likes.
Many of the guys were legit out of her league. Sportscars, greek god physiques. I showed her, confidently. She taunted me to just set up the date. Now I didn't wanna be really obvious, else it'd seem like a scam. But believe me I tried.
I tried to set it up with any 6+ guy who would be active on a weekend evening.
"Wazzup" "lookin nyc" "hiiiie you're the most amazing....(Copy paste chatgpt answer"
Those were the openers. Then there were those that didn't reply for hrs. Many matched and didn't even say hello.
There were some who did talk, but holy fuck do they talk like they don't want the conversation to go anywhere. Asking about her yellow house in school - like wtf read the room bro.
I legit would've agreed to any guy who would've just asked to meet up for drinks/dinner/coffee ANYTHING. Yk what the guys are saying? "Whatever you wanna do lol" "we can just hang" "let's go for a drive/ride"
I'm a dude and I wouldn't say yes to any of these even if I was looking for friends.
Istg I'm switching teams and am now supporting women wholeheartedly on this.
How are these the most educated bunch of people in the most privileged, upper strata of the tier 1 city and still can't f*cking form 5 sentences? The few who do are either so slow to text that it's meaningless, or just talk aimlessly.
RAY OF HOPE
Conversely, the 6 and above men out there, just get enough money to get premium and make a decent profile and just ...talk. Talk with the intention of going out, and man is the hoop clear. Sure, you'll have many misses - women are still terrible, just like the men. But you're shooting wide open 3 pointers. You can be fucking Shaq and score a 3 pointer once in a while if you keep shooting.
Rule 1 isn't necessary. Following Rule 2 is good enough.
I used to believe that the elders were wrong about avoiding maintenance of items, I think they were right
I just did a preemptive annual servicing of my geyser. It's been a year and I could feel the water starting to be less hotter than it used to be. Given that monsoons are over and winter is coming, I thought I'd get it serviced.
I ordered a repairman from the Turban Company (name changed) and was quoted 700. It felt a bit steep, but in my mind I was thinking - if I'm gonna get it serviced 2 months later, might as well do it now and avoid having lukewarm showers for 2 months.
The guy came, and immediately started pointing out flaws with the inlet pipe. Then somehow the valve was leaking.
He said the pipe could burst and scald me with hot water.
I had already paid 700 which couldn't be refunded, might as well go through with it. Final cost? 1200.
Another time I just did a routine check up with a local RO guy, and the filter was just fine. The guy then said something was wrong and my water was getting carbon particles. I didn't want to fight with him as he'd already opened everything up. Another 500 over the 200 rs fee.
A different time I'd ordered an AC technician for just washing/cleaning, and he pointed out I had "low gas". I didn't fall for it, and just asked him to put it all back. He did a shoddy job, leaving 2 screws on the ground which I later discovered.
It's almost to the point where I feel like these people are hunting for excuses and do very little repair. Every minute thing that they could ask to replace/repair, they do.
That's their bread and butter. And I'm more inclined to just buy things new outright, than have these people come and scam me.
I'd love to hear your perspective on what you do about preventative maintenance.
Tried "auto overclock" in the amd official software, now pc won't boot up

I have a Ryzen 7600 with 32gb (2 diff 16gb ram sticks) and a 9060xt 16gb gpu. I tried the auto overclock, and the pc won't boot up now. I've tried the basic - unplugged the psu, and touched the CMOS pins (JBAT1 for my msi mobo) with a knife.
It still doesn't boot up, and has 2 LEDs - CPU and DRAM, both lit up. They're not flashing, they're statically lit up. The pc and fans turn on, no output to the monitor though.

It's like seeing the cancer warning and gore on a pack of cigarettes
Oh boy, people really are ditching dating apps huh
Is there a downside for having 0 cash and running day to day expenses on debt?
A colleague has this fascinating system. Every rupee he owns (except like some cash in his wallet) is invested in one way or the other (FDs, mutual funds, debt funds etc etc). His bank balance isn't more than 1000 rs.
Like you could ask him to buy a bottle of whiskey right now and he won't be able to pay for it if the merchant QR doesn't accept his rupay UPI CC.
He budgets well and stays well under his means, but for every expense he uses credit cards.
He's a huge "time in the markets" guy, and sees credit cards as the way to go for every day to day expense.
So say he spends 30k this month, he'll put it all on credit cards and pay it with next month's salary. Every rupee beyond that gets invested.
Also, he says it helps a lot as he makes a decent amount in cashbacks/reward points - which saves more money for him to invest. Apart from losing his job, I don't really see the system failing - even if he does lose his job, he has the money in various tranches, so his emergency fund is sizable and available.
Are there any other downsides?
PS don't comment anything about "debt is bad, credit cards are trap" - he's handling that part perfectly.
The biggest problem with dating today - the Turkish Icecream seller
You're tired after a long day. You went to your job/classes, dealt with people of all sorts, slogged through commute and chaos while trying to be calm. You finally get home. You wanna relax and want a little treat. You go out to the vendor on the road, he's selling icecream.
You ask him what all flavours he's got, but he only has butterscotch cup. It's not your favourite icecream, though you don't care. He's charging 5rs extra for cooling, but you relent and just hand him the money. Having some icecream is giving you much needed happiness after a long day of struggling with everything else. Sure it's not *exactly* what you wanted, but it's fine.
Now imagine one day, he's not there. You walk further and spot a different icecream seller in a nice food truck. "Turkish icecream" - is what it reads. You're just looking to get icecream, and so you go there. He's got the icecream you'd want. But then he starts doing tricks with you. Waving the rod around you - pulling it back when you try to grab it. It starts to get annoying. You just want icecream, you have the money in hand. He gives you the cone. But then snatches it away. You're getting angry. "Just gimme the icecream, man" you say to him. He gives you the cone back. He puts the scoop on it. You're happy, and lean forward to grab a bite.
He snatches the scoop back. At that point, you just turn around and leave. You're done. Even though the Turkish seller had the exact icecream you want and had it at a good price, the tricks and gimmicks of it all made it unappealing if not infuriating. You'd rather just get some random overpriced icecream from the other seller.
The equivalence with dating :
You've had a long day. You just wanna go out and meet someone new. Spend some time, talk, grab some good food. It's a much needed reprieve from your stressful life.
You get on hinge/bumble to try and find someone to go out with. You get some matches. You start texting them, trying to make plans to go out. You don't really care all that about the specifics. Coffee, Dinner, the mall, the movie - they're all fine. You just want to go out, and have some company. You have the money to spend, or even to splurge. And for the most part, you don't really care too much about the other person. As long as they're pleasant to be around, you're not fixated about their looks, personality, appearance, etc.
But then as you text your matches, you get hit with the tricks.
"Um I'll let you know" ,
"I need to talk for a month or two before going out",
"Hey so sorry just seeing this message",
"I'm just looking for chatting only"
Etc etc.
And that is even before you get seenzoned/ghosted/stood up/unmatched out of the blue. With all of these things, you just wonder why even bother with all of this and just give up.
Icecream is nice, but only if it's somewhat easily available.
This post is meant as a unisex perspective on dating, please don't fight in the comments. I'm not equating people with ice-cream, it's an analogy.
Why are these adult children on the apps anyways?
Like f*ck do I know or care about that, figure that shit out yourself?
Anyone tried this new feature of INDmoney? Looks awesome to me
If they put in variables other than Last Traded Price (LTP) then it'd be amazing. The guy buying 1L nifty for every 1% dip would be happy with this.
I'd actually love this way of doing sip than just blindly shovelling money every month
About to get a Retention Bonus of 3Lacs, but I DONT WANT IT
I've just completed a full year at my company and they're offering a retention bonus, all cash, of 3Lacs.
Problem is, it'll be taxed and paid to me with a 20% haircut.
Though I'm planning to leave the company in a few months. The company has a clawback period of 1 year, meaning if I leave before 12 months, I'll have to pay 3 lacs back.
So basically I'm losing 60k this way. What do I do? Can I decline? I don't want to resign yet, and declining would mean they know I'm preparing to resign.
