Greece lost its historical “lebensraum” when the Byzantine empire collapsed. Our civilisation unfortunately isn’t as dynamic anymore. The emerging multi polar world won’t do us many favours either imo, theoretically yes, we could increasingly influence the world now that the west declines, but Türkiye is far stronger than us and without a strong western alliance we’re cooked. Chronic weaknesses that stem from not being able to build a Western European country will no longer be a burden for us but the problem is that they will no longer be a burden for Türkiye either and they have 8 times our population and a gdp approaching the g10. The Slavic north however is doing even worse, we guard Bulgaria’s airspace nowadays and they are becoming half of our size population wise. Things change. I expect a regional power of Turkey and a weaker western alliance of Greece Israel competing it, the Balkan front is going be weak and Albania/kosovo will be Turkish satellites while the Slavic countries will be more fluid and Greece will be more capable to challenge Turkey’s influence there.
