Odd Request - Screenshot of Monthly Bill including Promo Credits (Work Reimbursement)

So basically - I get reimbursed from work for service, but not devices.

I want to see how GoogleFi bills

AT&T would charge the full amount and then have a second section for bill credits etc.

Basically, I want to bill the $65/mo to work, and pocket the phone cost, as I'm buying a personal device, not cutting my company a discount.

Can anyone share what this looks like - a description or screencap, please do not include any personal info of course

Cheers

This Pixel 11 Deal on Google Fi Right now

I just signed up for service three days ago. My new job has a bunch of international travel, so this is the best plan for me, I fully intend on staying with it unless they turn around and double the price or something.

On the first page when I go to the Google Fi webpage I see the deal:

>Get the new Pixel 11 Pro on us and $10/mo off your phone plan. Stack your savings with $300 off Pixel 11 Pro instantly and $799 back over 24 monthly credits. Plus, a $10/mo service credit for 2 years on the Unlimited Premium plan.

The detail is:

>$300 off now + $800 back over 24 monthly credits when you activate it on a new line with Unlimited Premium plan

Is my line considered "New"?

>A new Fi customer is someone who has never had Fi service or someone whose last day of Fi service took place more than 180 days before making a purchase with this promotion.

Just want to make sure I really qualify for this because it seems pretty solid.

$300 discount, $800 back via monthly credits, $240 additional back in discounts to service is pretty nuts, I've never used an Android phone but I'm barely committed to Apple and I'm curious to swap as my current device is getting aged out (iPhone 13)

International as a new customer - Question and Situation

Hi. My new position at work has me going into the EU and Canada about 5-10x a year for a few days at a time. I’ll probably take some more personal time over there too so I’d wager 5-7% of my time would be there with the rest of my time at home in the US.

I just completed a trip and dealing with E sims and swapping by country is a nightmare.

I leave again in 10 days.

If I get into it now, would my next trip be at risk? It will be two weeks international.

I get it if so, just trying to solve this problem now or preparing another wave of E-sims through one of those apps like Airolo

I plan on making the switch regardless just trying to prep. Thanks!

My Insanely Easy, Cheap & Nutritionally Dense Carbohydrate Base - Garlic Jalapeno Buckwheat (Grechka)

The amount of effort that goes into this is so little, the cost is so pathetic, but the flavor, satiety, value, ease, and nutrition is too good to not share. I buy buckwheat in bulk from a local european market for $3 per pound which would make a 40g serving around $.26 lol

Ingredients

40g dry toasted buckwheat

80ml water (2:1 water-to-buckwheat ratio)

½ small/medium onion, minced

1 jalapeño, minced

1 clove of minced garlic (or two, or three, or Jarlic, it literally doesn't matter, go nuts)

1 tsp Better Than Bouillon

5g butter

Rough steps:

Prep: boil some water in a kettle. While you're waiting, lazily rinse the buckwheat. I put it in a small pot and rinse with sink water. You don't have to, I'm not convinced it matters.

Cooking phase: 40g of buckwheat in the pot. Add 80g or 80mL of hot water (2 to 1). Add any seasonings or extras (this recipe would be the minced onion, garlic, jalapeno, bouillion)

Boil with lid mostly on for 4 or 5 minutes, I tilt the lid a bit so air can escape but liquid will mostly drip back into the pan, not important, you can also just boil it on low with lid completely on, whatever

when 4-5 mins are up, turn off heat, just let the pan sit while you do the rest of the cooking, give it at least 10 minutes

open it, add 5g of butter, stir in a bit, done

Nutrition:

Calories ~260–290 kcal

Protein ~7–8g

Carbohydrates ~45–50g

Fiber ~6–8g

Fat ~7–8g

Net carbs ~39–43g

The micronutrient profile destroys rices too.

Found this interesting broken MiJ Jackson on Craigslist - it reminded me of the Adrian Smith models - Dinky Std 1994 (ish?)

All 3 pickups read 0 output - how does that even happen?

Using all of the original electronics I swapped to two fender noiseless singles and a Kiesel lithium I had laying around. Dunked the tremolo in oil and scrubbed it with my wife’s toothbrush and it cleaned up really well.

My favorite thing is the catalog shows this as WHITE with the paint matching the pickguard. Under the guard it is indeed white. This thing has aged nicely!

First Ever Loaf Attempt - 100% whole grain spelt

Saw my local store has Organic whole grain spelt flour in the bulk section for like 2.50 a pound or so. I bought 500g worth and did a quick google search on grain to water ratios, then watched some old lady on YouTube show the step by step and came up with this recipe:

500g flour
350g warm water
3g yeast
30g honey
2 tsp salt
1 tbsp avocado oil
Lightly brush top with milk before putting into oven (doubt this even did anything)

Bake at 375 on convection mode for 35 minutes

Lazily mixed it with a spoon. Folded it over a few times over a 2 hour rise. Threw it in a bread pan I bought years ago and never used and this is the result

Honestly tastes and smells incredible. Was killing me waiting 1 hour to cut into it!

Open to any feedback. I don’t know where to go from here frankly I assumed my first attempt would result in a hockey puck or some other terrible abomination but this is great!

About to Buy a Ford Ranger - Sanity Check the "Deal"?

Hopefully this is allowed here - I am clueless and KBB values seem so far from reality these days.

The Facts:

1998

125k miles

Former Government Dept of Transportation vehicle

No issues

No rust

Clean title

Leather seats, updated sound system, hand-crank windows

2wd - Automatic

3.0 v6

Aftermarket alarm system

Brand new tires

$3500

It looks pretty good. I really just need a grocery getter (and by groceries I mean mulch and yard debris).

Fridge Install requires shut-off valve within 6’ - will this be sufficient?

I had one of these behind the fridge - is that formal enough? I know those installers can get picky.

Is this like a new hostile "we know you're using adblock" function in Marketplace?

The grey thing just pops up at random places and searching just doesn't work anymore on Browser. Works fine on Mobile. Started two days ago.

My 90s Beater Horizon

Love this guitar. I think it’s had about 10 sets of pickups in it by now. I had a hard time dialing it in and finally landed on a 59 Hybrid bridge and 59 neck.

I was never much for tone wood belief but the ash really resonates oddly in my opinion and it took some effort to take some of that “boxiness” out of the bridge.

My favorite aspect of these older ESPs are the absolutely enormous frets. Like .058” tall. Hilariously large.

I finally gave up - I lost the Wet Food War with my cat

6 months now. Hundreds of dollars. The same routine nearly every day.

Take a few bites, orbit around the bowl for a few minutes, then finally the "I'm just gonna cover this up" antics where they scratch at the floor around it.

The annoying thing is, occasionally, she will destroy the food, like eat the whole bowl in a few minutes. "Great, she must like that flavor". So I buy 6 more cans. Dinner time comes around, turns her nose up, back to the burying routine.

We got her from the humane society, they feed their cats Hills dry food. She's obsessed with it. Flavor doesn't matter.

You win cat. Drink your damn water please (she has a running UV fountain and a water bowl in her food station that gets cleaned daily)

The Infamous Samsung Refrigerator - As a Hobby Technician - Observations

My friend has had his Samsung Bespoke Fridge for almost 2 years now. I asked him about it and did some prodding around on it and I was kinda surprised.

I've repaired my Samsung fridge several times and flip broken appliances at times, while not a professional with pro experience, I've tackled some stuff that surprises even myself

The key points of butt-pain that got Samsung its reputation and even lawsuits that they had to pay out millions over:

A. Icemaker in the Fridge - Terrible design, nonstop problems.

  • This has been moved to the freezer and there is no door mechanism. The icemaker is now incredibly simple and easy to access and replace parts on.

B. Fridge Rear-Panel Frosting Over - The old versions were cheap as crap and the fan was placed right where frost would build up. The styrofoam was also not sealed and would get wet, freeze, break the seal to the back of the fridge, and cascade into a frozen-over coil and fan.

  • The new panel is really nice. The parts fiche also shows that the defroster system seems simplified and placed in a more intuitive spot, now that the coil area isn't as cramped, they can actually put these things where it makes sense. The entire fan mechanism is changed and out of the way of ice, the sytrofoam is now sealed and wider, far away from frost build-up, and in general, very robust by comparison

C. The "Water reservoir freezing" problem that would cause cracked/damage water housing and flooding

  • Completely resolved, the water reservoir is moved up significantly and the lowest point is now the drawers, this problem is completely eliminated.

What is left? I have not seen much in terms of premature samsung compressor failure or anything.

Paze Newegg Question

Trying to keep up with things here, but I have $3,000 in Lowes Gift Cards added to my cart.

I need to go buy a fridge from Lowes sometime in the next few days.

Am I missing anything? 11x points for this? Or is there some catch like a hard limit, paze being blocked, or it taking months to "issue" the GC?
