Thought brain fog was just a normal part of being busy and now i'm concerned

For a long time I blamed my brain fog symptoms on work stress, general life stress, and not sleeping enough. Lately though it feels harder to brush off. Forgetting entire conversations, losing my train of thought in the middle of meetings, and re reading the same paragraph over and over.

I'm not looking for anyone here to diagnose me. I'm more curious about other people's experiences with deciding when symptoms were worth bringing up with a doctor. If you dealt with brain fog before getting an autoimmune diagnosis, what made you decide to get it checked out?

Should we replace our legacy IVR with an AI system?

My company is looking at replacing our legacy IVR with an AI system for inbound customer calls.

The main reason is that we're trying to reduce unnecessary transfers. Right now, customers often have to go through multiple menu options before reaching the right team and we're wondering if an AI agent could handle more of the initial conversation and route people based on what they actually need.

The part I'm unsure about is how well this works in practice. Things like interruptions, unclear requests, authentication, transferring to a human and keeping the conversation from going completely off track seem like they could get complicated pretty quickly.

For anyone who's actually moved from a traditional IVR to an AI agent, what did the transition look like? What worked better than expected and what ended up being a bigger headache than you thought?

Experience gift card or pick the exact class?

I’m stuck on an experience gift. Do you pick the actual thing or just give a gift card and let them choose?

It’s for a close friend who likes creative stuff, but she’s busy and I don’t know her schedule well enough to pick a date. Picking the exact class feels risky. But a totally open ended gift card also feels like something that could sit there forever.

I’ve been looking at workshop type sites and broader experience gift sites. There are a lot of options for creative classes but I still can’t decide.

For an experience gift is it better to pick the activity or let them choose?

What are the best anthropic courses for building your portfolio?

Im looking past the basic free lessons and trying to find the best anthropic courses for becoming a certified claude architect. Leaning toward an AI Engineering Course from Udacity, Deep Learning, and Coursera. Main thing is being able to give myself an edge in the interview process over others who haven't figured out the more technical stuff like MCP. Anyone looked into these yet?

New Yorkers, what sandals can you walk 10k steps in?

Hey New Yorkers, I turned 30 and now my feet hurt all the time but I'm not ready to embrace chunky dad sneakers year round yet. What sandals are you all wearing that are comfortable and durable enough for regularly getting 10k plus steps every day? Bonus points if they're not orthotic looking.

Is anyone else's Match Bank Data UI auto sorting when you try to copy names?

Ever since the 2026.1 update the Match Bank Data page has been driving everyone crazy. Highlight a memo or vendor name for one second and the whole thing auto sorts and jumps somewhere else. Then it's back to finding the same transaction again.

At this point it feels like every update fixes one thing and breaks two more.

Has anyone just given up and moved to external bank reconciliation software or bank reconciliation software add ons that work with NetSuite? Looking for something that handles matching without every system update creating a new headache.

How much does therapy actually cost if you don't have great insurance?

I've put off therapy for a long time because I assumed it would be too expensive. Before I rule it out again, what are people realistically paying each month and are there affordable options worth looking into?

Austin Water bill jumped to $400 this month... hidden leak?

Got our Austin Water bill today and it shot up to almost $400. No clue how. We haven't been watering the yard any more than usual so now I'm wondering if there's a running toilet or some underground line leak.

Checked the meter and the little red dial is still spinning even with every faucet off.

Need an honest plumber austin people actually trust for hidden leaks. Would you call a private plumber austin service first or have the city come check their side before paying someone?

anyone tried ai car diagnostics for a check engine light?

my audi q3 2015 150k miles threw a check engine light and i'm getting tired of googling fault codes one by one and getting 10 different answers.

reading the code with a scanner is easy enough, but figuring out what it actually means is not. some sites say keep driving, others say pull over now, and it's hard to know what applies to my car.

has anyone tried an ai tool that explains the code in plain language instead of just spitting out a number? did it help you figure out what was going on?

Which is the best social media management tool right now?

Trying to move away from spreadsheets, email, and manual publishing because our social media workflow is getting messy. Looking for an all in one platform that actually makes things easier instead of adding more work.

I keep seeing Vista Social, Hootsuite and Sprout Social mentioned everywhere. What are marketers actually using and what’s worth paying for?

How do you figure out what you can DIY, what to use a legal automation site for, and what actually needs an attorney?

My side hustle has gotten past the hobby stage but it's nowhere near replacing my day job. At this point I'm trying to treat it like an actual business instead of just winging everything.

Now there's customer terms contractor invoices possibly changing from a DBA to an LLC keeping the rights to a logo and compliance deadlines that are honestly confusing.

None of this feels big enough to justify having a lawyer on retainer but it also feels like one bad decision could turn into a much bigger problem around taxes or later on.

How do people decide what's safe to DIY what should go through a legal automation site and what should always go to an attorney?

Best linux course for devops because production issues keep exposing my linux knowledge

Starting to realize most production issues aren't even the real problem. The real problem is weak linux knowledge. Every incident somehow comes back to permissions, logs, processes, containers or debugging. Youtube feels like endless beginner content at this point. Looking for the best linux course that actually helps with automation, cloud ops and real production environments. Anyone here recommend Udemy, Kodecloud or Boot dev?

Elite Learning or Nurse.com for a new grad?

I’m trying to compare Elite Learning vs Nurse.com and wondering if anyone has looked closely at both. I’m a new grad and it’s hard to tell what differences matter and what is just marketing. Both seem to offer continuing education, memberships and a wide range of nursing topics.

For anyone who knows these platforms, what stands out to you when comparing them?

Mom called me crying because she couldnt get out of the tub by herself

My mom called me last week while my dad was at the grocery store because she got stuck trying to get out of the tub. She wasnt injured or anything serious but hearing panic in your parents voice changes something in your brain immediately. I drove over afterward and suddenly the whole bathroom looked different to me. The floor felt slippery, there was nowhere solid to grab onto, the tub wall looked way higher than I remembered.

They’ve lived there for 35 years and I think everybody just adapted to it slowly over time. Now every time I leave their house i cant stop thinking about what happens if nobody’s around. Of course they dont want to talk about any of this because to them it feels like admitting they’re old, so I’m trying to help without making them feel like I’m taking over their lives. anyone have advice? This whole thing feels awful
