Because my dumb ass needs to be fucking educated (Customer question)

… Well. Am I surprised to be here? Absolutely not.

Long story short, I don’t need this anymore. Managed to get one at a store. The cancellation option is no longer there. I actually called the stupid hotline in which I had an automated voice basically tell me too bad, so sad, cancel it on .com. If you can’t do this, it’s too late.

I can clearly see the status is in progress. I would assume if the company cannot fulfill this online order, it would either cancel (which I doubt) or change to awaiting product availability? If it’s in the APA status, does anyone know if it repopulates the cancel button? The automated voice did tell me that the human clowns won’t be able to change my order so I didn’t even bother trying to talk to a human. I’m just curious as obviously if it ships out, I’ll just return it, but I’m thinking that this will now be in limbo because it’s an “in demand deluxe edition video game with limited stock”.

…any advice or insight? Yes, I know I’m stupid LOL

How frequent does BestBuy carry newly released video games?

To sum it up. Deluxe of Lego Batman released today. The app isn’t giving the ability to see nearby stores inv. Does bestbuy typically carry a limited amount of “special editions” for non-AAA games in stores?

I work close to a store so I was originally planning on stopping by at open, but genuinely curious if it’s worth my time.

Getting out of my lease question

To sum up my situation. Management strong armed my family to sign our lease within 24 hours or we’d be considered that we would be leaving EOM. The lease specifically states we have 45 days prior to the lease lapsing to renew, we were given a 24 hour notice.

Aside from the strong arming, we found a house a few weeks later, put in an offer - and as of yesterday we are a month from closing. With the mortgage being approved, loan being approved, everything pretty much in the green, we asked management to move us to a month to month if that was even an option(For context, we emailed them at the beginning of the month). Their lease only said one or two years. With it being two days into the month (May), the lease manager declined our request and asked for feedback regarding why we are leaving.

To now tell you my horror story, we’ve had a mice infestation in the building since 2025. Management has refused to fix the actual issue and instead patched up holes in the apartment, which the mice eventually chew through. They’ve eaten through foam, insulation and even wood. I’ve sent pictures of dead mice to management. We’ve caught at the bare minimum 20 mice in the last 6 months. This month alone we’ve caught 3 more, I also heard another at 5am rummaging in our bedroom. I also attached my doctor’s note stating it is unsafe for myself to live in this environment as I am pregnant. Not only is this a danger to my pregnancy, but it’s a danger to my husband and my toddler.

The lease manager left me on read for some time. I followed up requesting an answer and sent a picture of one recently caught mouse. They informed me it’s up to higher management and the owners with how they’d like to proceed. Additionally, we have a pest board in the building. Four out of eight residents wrote on that board stating that there is an infestation in their apartment.

It’s been quiet for maybe about two weeks or so now? With having a doctor’s note stating the apartment is a danger to my health, having communication and pictures as far back as January 2025, how simple do you think it could be to get out of my lease? Management is quite literally ignoring our requests to deal with this infestation. Additionally, does it even seem possible to get back my security deposit due to - as far as management knows - us needing to move due to the neglect management has done for the building.

Edit: For location context, I am in New York State.

Dear GameStop employee who is fulfilling my online order

Please send me the gutted copy and don’t have this go through limbo. I am a grown adult who doesn’t care about the cellophane.

Love yours truly

This was too funny not to share with the sub. Too many of my islanders do this exact thing 😭😭

This is so stupid 😭

Additionally unsafe. We’ve seen the constant videos online of people losing their fucking shit about Pokémon. I do like how GameStop states **preorders** and not basic sale. Although, some people may not understand this concept and simply line up expecting product and when there is none… 🫥 We all know how someone gets when you tell a customer how an indemand product is not available goes.

I guess the bright side is GameStop charging stupid prices for their products making buying from GameStop extremely unappealing for TCG products…but jfc. You guys can’t get double coverage for safety purposes, but we’ll throw double coverage for a TCG drop that’ll bring no extra money in/most customers will come the next day because it’s cards…and not a video game…

Wake me up when it’s June 30th 😭

It’s so close, yet so far… I’ve enjoyed all of the graphic novels and I can’t wait for this one to come out!

I still need to finish the regular series books so I at least have something to keep me occupied 😂😅

I made a post a week or two ago inquiring if HOAs were worth it. A lot of you truly were honest and straight to the point with the horrors of condos and how costly one could be with HOAs.

I had presented the idea to my grandmother to look for a house(she’s providing the down payment for context) and she agreed. We initially looked at a house that was 859k, it was gorgeous although I didn’t truly understand the market. My county being right outside of NYC has been very desirable for those moving out of the boroughs and going north so houses have been going for way more than what they should be, at least 100k+ over asking, etc. While getting pre approved again for a mortgage, the house we initially looked at sold.

Disappointed and wanting to just view something, we viewed a nice looking home that was about 200 - 400 less square feet than what we initially looked at. I’m glad I did as the pictures didn’t describe how amazing this home was. Especially as our young son loved it.

We offered 65k over asking, there were offers that were higher than ours, but our terms were more appealing in our offer (willing to break out lease with our apartment asap, no financing contingency as I’m already pre approved appropriately).

Obviously not completely out of the woodworks yet as we still need to go through everything else and close, but as a first time home buyer, thank you everyone on this sub for swaying me in the right decision with dropping the idea with investing in a condo and investing in a house where we can comfortably grow our family of three, soon to be four come October. Thank you ❤️

Absolutely lmao. Literally went live and sold out immediately. Managed to get a ball bag which was the accessory I wanted the most. Tried to add a mystery water bottle and the hair clips and while choosing the payment method, they removed them from my cart lol.

The joy.

So a few years ago, I worked at a GameStop location. The FedEx driver there became too friendly and began making unwanted advances, speaking to me inappropriately, etc. I reported him to the warehouse manager and he was taken off of my route.

Fast forward to now, my new place of employment is literally down the street from that location. Our typical drivers give me no issue. On Fridays, the entire warehouse is off as they work 10 hour work days M -Th. The logistics specialist works from home. She just sent me the tracking for 3 shipments coming from FedEx today. I see FedEx updated their website where it tells you who is delivering the packages and it was the individual who I filed a SH claim against.

Informed the logistics person this, she suggested I go to HR and I did. Unfortunately, once it’s in transit, it’s not possible to pull back the delivery and it would still have to go through. They did give advice to write a note by the loading dock (which is open as the company in the back rents that space) that states to place deliveries here, if a signature is needed call this number. I confirmed with HR I’ve occasionally seen him periodically if he picks up this route before, but because there are typically other people here, I don’t feel unsafe. Considering that I am the only person on the warehouse floor for my company does make me feel unsafe.

Obviously my paranoia is interacting with this person as I don’t want to do at all lol. I’m genuinely hoping they drop the packages there and leave instead of walking it to the back of the warehouse, where I’m located. Fingers crossed I’m just left alone today. I’m insanely hormonal (17w pregnant) and I genuinely don’t need this stress today.

Edit: Thank you all for your kind comments, concerns and suggestions! The good news is he literally dropped them off right inside the beginning of the entry to the warehouse gate. He didn’t come near my barricade so it seems. I verified via tracking number stating delivered before checking to see if they were dropped off.

My son’s character fell for his fictional aunt. I made my parents in the game, made them related to my character. They should also be related to my son’s character. My parent’s characters had a kid, Sienna, AND FOR SOME REASON MY SON WAS CRUSHING ON HIS FICTIONAL AUNT.

I never shut down a relationship so quickly

Hi everyone,

I’m personally a first time buyer. My husband and I have been renting (a one bedroom apartment) for about 5 or so years now. We have another kiddo on the way to make us a family of four so we definitely need to upgrade. With that being said, grandmother is helping my family put a down payment on a condo. She is strict about the condo and not a home as maintaining a home would be more costly - I do agree with her on that.

Condos that have peaked my interest are townhouse styles condos which I noticed also come with an HOA fee. The original complex we were looking at which had two condos for sale, we missed grabbing them. One went into contract before we were able to place an offer, that has since closed. The other, which needed heavy maintenance, went way over its asking price and is now pending. The HOA fee for this one was under $400 which I personally didn’t mind. The units were about (1.2k - 1.4k square feet)

Now, this new unit that I noticed that went on market that looks extravagant(2.4k square feet being one perk) . Definitely some painting needed to be done, etc. Has a $810 a month HOA. I personally tried avoiding the listings with outstandingly high HOA fees as I was questioning would I want to pay this for the rest of my life, but for something that I am looking for (townhouse style), in one of the towns I’m searching in, has assigned parking and a private garage, is close to the train for my husband to commute, etc. It definitely seems pretty ideal.

My question is what exactly is the job of the HOA? Am I able to find their “rule book” if I ask my broker? What are the pros and cons of an HOA? If I’m specifically looking for a condo (townhouse styled ones), are they all supposed to come with HOAs? Can the rate of an HOA increase?

I’d appreciate any insight! Thank you 🥰

Edit: I appreciate EVERYONE pitching into this. Honestly, my husband and I are going to sit down with my grandmother and discuss the option for a house instead. A lot of you broke down the realism of HOAs, how these can change at any time, etc. The HOAs seem nice to an extent, but not reasonable if I want it to be a forever home.

Edit: Thank you everyone for your talking points. I did approach my grandmother with the points mentioned. She has agreed on assisting us with a house if we find one we like within our budget.
