is my art scary? :(

ive got a few comments on other subreddits that my art is scary or looks looks like a corpse or "i wouldnt want something like that in my house". thats a direct quite from some comment.

its making me feel a bit sad cus i was posting for advice and only gotten comments like these

edit: for anyone wondering; slide 1 is lee know from straykids, slide 2 is bong ye bun from 'behind your touch' (its such a good show i reccomend you watch it), slide 3 isnt anyone in particular, slide 4 is karina from aespa

never had criticism on my art before

i like to exaggerate proportion and colour. first slide A5. second slide both drawings are A6. all 3 in oil pastel

i want to explore more. oil pastel is 100% my favourite medium but how can i improve my art to make it more interesting? im kinda stuck at this level and cant seem to do anything better

should i buy a switch 1 or lite?

im looking to buy my first switch. i have never owned any sort of gaming console, ive only gamed a bit on my laptop and phone sometimes. im not really interested in big title games like pokemon or mario cart so im not looking to get the switch 2, the switch 1 games are enough for me.

the only difference i can see between switch lite and switch 1 is the screen size. can you play all the switch 1 games on the lite? whats the battery life like? any other differences i should be aware of?

im open to all games, but i prefer more relaxed games. im also looking for cheaper games as id prefer not to spend £40-£60 for each game

i finally found how to work around my biggest sensory issue

bed sheets. i cant stand bed sheets.

they always wrinkle or feel wrong, no matter what bed sheet brand i try. i have spent years sleeping without a bedsheet on my mattress. it is so unhygienic and i legit hand wash and dry my mattress with a hair dryer every once in a while because i cant stand having bed sheets. with bed sheets, i will be unable to sleep because i need to take everything off my bed and re adjust my sheets 10 times before im so tired that i knock out.

i brought a cheap(ish) weighted blanket. i laid it down on my bed and i realised its not wrinkling. boom solved. i now sleep with a weighted blanket on my mattress as a 'bed sheet' and it is amazing!!! i can take it off and wash it like a normal bed sheet while protect my mattress ❤️

going for kinda realistic but not hyperrealistic, oil pastel, a5

im not sure if anything is off about these. maybe the anatomy but im working on that, its also difficult as i use a5 paper so i feel like some of the detail gets lost? im asking more about the use of colours and textures

been drawing with oil pastels for 3 days

i also have no idea how to do backgrounds so advice on that would be helpful. and what my style is called

is it worth the money?

IM GETTING SUCH BAD FOMO!!!

i had the orignal ds version years ago. tomodachi life looks soooo fun especially because im a creative person but i DONT HAVE A NINTENDO SWITCH 😭 im not going to pay £100+ for a ninento and £50 on top for the game itself. ughhh if anyone wants to donate me a switch feel free to do so

tbh i might wait until i find a nintendo on sale somewhere online and i MIGHT buy it. would it be worth it? how many hours do you get out of this game before it starts to get repetitive?

edit: to add, if i brought a nintendo i would use it for other games too in the future. but considering how each game costs quite a lot idk, im on the fence about buying one...

i'm a lesbian and i'm going to swansea university in september. i've never had a chance to connect with other lgbt people, especially lesbians, because there's no lgbt spaces in my home town. i'm wondering if theres any gay spaces i can visit :)

im not talking about the obvious things like pillows, desk lamp etc. what other things that maybe not everyone thinks of did you bring to university that really helped you out? im trying to think of literally everything because im so anxious so im channelling that anxiety into a very extensive spreadsheet 😭
