Ability to encode your consciousness in a sentient container?

What would the kind of ability be to make a holocron-a receptacle of your knowledge and teaching kind of like a recorded lecture or interview, except the container has sentience and can interact with others based on the knowledge contained (kind of like a hyperadvanced AI)?

Was luthen wrong about the ghormans?

Luthen assumption is that Ghorman will be the straw that breaks the camel's back and cause ordinary citizens to rise up or at least disrupt the Empire's reputation. But we see through Eedy the average citizen is brainwashed into not caring (see also: the Palmo incident where Tarkin crushed protestors) and when Mon Mothma makes her speech the whole Senate rises to denounce her. Yes, the massacre and her subsequent escape from the Senate kickstarted the Rebel Alliance, but that was more due to her actions then the Ghormans specifically. It's only been a day so we can't be sure but Mon says something to the effect that if she hadn't spoken out, nobody would have cared and people would have continued on as normal. So were all of Luthen's machinations on that front ultimately pointless at least in it's intended regard?

Has uk snl done a skit on jk rowling transphobia?

They seem usually more progressive or at least more politically direct then the us (ed sheeran, palestine) so it seems strange to not see them address what appears to be a large elephant in UK right wing culture when the us version did address her bigotry several times.

What is this?

I just finished the first season (I have not played the game) and I noticed that all characters have this little line thing. I assume its some cybernetic implant but it feels weird that a kid like Roman already has one (or is it that digital communication phone they all use to contact one another?)

Speculation on this character for the movie?

He's listed as mu quin, and he (?) is described as a boy who holds the key to the story? Because he seems to resemble this other adult character shown in the film with the same long light brown hair. Considering how effeminate he looks, I wonder if the trailer is misleading us and he's actually a girl crossdressing as part of the plot.

(Side note: i was surprised mariya ise was voicing him because I usually know her from hxh as killua and the two look and sound nothing alike).

Its getting hard to maladptively daydreaming and I mean that in a bad way

I recently got a crush on this pokemon character but whenever I daydream about him I inwardly cringe because the way he acts in my head is totally different to how he acts in the show/video game. I tried researching the kind of stuff he was in to (in the game he is a competitive battler) but I wasnt able to really understand all that stuff and so whenever I want to daydream I get frustrated that I cant create a plausible story for him even though his appearance is burned in to my brain.

What if kurapika was in that auction room?

What if dalzollene (idk his name) placed kurapika on bodyguard rather then watch duty, would he have been able to survive the barrage of nen bullets and somehow still escape (considering his ability works best one on one I highly doubt he would be able to defeat all the other members on his own)? For that matter would he be in a state of mind to defend the other bodyguards or would he just leave them to fend for themselves while he made his move?

Is talking to the dead within the realm of possibility?

Resurrecting the dead is probably a tall order that would require a phenomenal amount of Nen, but what about merely talking to the dead? I've been thinking of one where you burn a treasured object of a person on a certain date or time (maybe their birth or death date or a signifcant day in their life), and for a limited time (until the object burns) a ghost of the person appears in the fumes. Is this theoretically possible or would the cost also be too great?

What would happen to nachos dad?

Mike swore he would look after him which probably i volved discreet financial support and having checkups on him every now and then. Now that he is dead do you think he would still be safe/financially okay?

The hm06 in the remakes doesnt make sense

Storytellying nitpick but apparently in gen iii somebody in mauville gives us the rock smash hm instead of wally uncle. Which is weird because his daughter needs that move to see her boyfriend from rusturf tunnel. I guess it sort of makes sense that he cant use it since he apparently doesnt have the correct gym badge? But it still weird that he had the solution all along and didnt ask someone else to use it for his daughter.

Does tsrreidnich even have the eyes with him?

While he no doubt brought a few of his trophies with him on the trip, would he really lug who knows how many pairs of eyes for the succession trip, a place that may lead to them being destroyed or discovered rather then safely preserved back home in kakin? We see him sitting down in the room with pairo head but its never specified if that is onboard the black whale or not. It would be awkward for him and kurapika to finally meet and he doesn't even have the eyes with him.

Ive never understood what the rebellion beef with luthen was

His actions never seem as destructive as Saw Gerrera (and since nobody knows who "axis" is or even that he exists until the end of the series, nothing ties his actions to the Rebellion). Sure, he funds and connects cells, and that is no different then what Bail or Ahsoka did with the Spectres; he even sends them on to Yavin. The genocide on Ghorman wasn't even entirely his fault, the Empire had a plan already to kill them, the Aldhani heist was just him securing funds(no different then people like the Ghost crew robbing imperial garrisons for supplies or weapons), and as for morally dubious actions the only people we see him kill or sacrifice are people like Tay Kolma, Lonni, or Saw's group, none of whom are part of the Rebellion and are clear liabilities. Just a few days after the end of the series, Draven orders Cassian to kill Galen Erso while deceiving his daughter.

Omg I cant believe a trans actress actually joined the audible series

For context Rebecca Root is a transgender actress who previously voiced Sirona Ryan in Hogwarts Legacy. Back then, during pre production its possible JK Rowling hadn't gone full TERF yet but I dont know why in the world she would continue on to the Audible to support someone who clearly hates her entire existence.

Does the show even have any black/minority writers?

With how clumsy they cast Snape, it makes me wonder if this was something the show's white showrunner and director have even thought about. The only one I know is Ripley Parker (whose sister is Nico Parker, the girl who played Astrid) which smacks of both nepotism and tokenism to me.

Do any of you feel frustrated with yourself because your daydream character is nothing like you?

I don't know how to say this, but...whenever I watch a character on TV or read a book where the protagonist is really smart, can quote Plato or is a master hacker, and incorporate parts of that character in to my daydream self-insert, I feel really jealous/hyperaware that I am not that person in real life, and feel guilty because I don't actually know the stuff that I want my character to know and my anxiety follows me into my daydreams, which is bad because they are my main coping mechanism. (eg. if I visualize them as the type to quote Plato, I don't know what Plato even says or the meaning of his quotes, my character feels shallow or undefined).

Do you ever get surprised when you discover some pokemon didnt use to have evolutions?

I got into pokemon around when I was 6 (around 2010) and it still is a bit unbelievable to me that there was an entire generation where pokemon like nosepass or misdreavus did not have evolutions. Like, I literally cannot imagine it because just looking at games like emerald where roxeanne uses it in rematches just feels incomplete to me, i keep expecting probopass. I think it was just because I grew up around the tail end of the gen 4/gen 5 era that most of my perceptions of Pokémon are still stuck in that era, because now by the same token its hard for me to still imagine that pokemon like primeape and bisharp do have evolutions.

What category is this ability?

An ability made by a resentful servant. His boss constantly offloading work onto him and he can't quit due to reasons (financial/emotional). Fed up, he subconsciously makes an ability: the more people rely on* (even for something as small as asking them to fetch the remote) he can drain nen and store it in a little conjured lantern. The amount of Nen drained is dependent on the magnitude of the favor that he is asked to do+how many favors he did before hand (dependency acts as a multiplyer. For example, fetching the remote results in 1 unit of aura drained since it is a small favor, but if that person has done a lot of favors for that person then they can get 2 since it signals how dependent they are). Eventually after a certain number of favors are completed by him, he can absorb their memories as well until his victims become a mindless husk, symbolizing how they were so reliant on him they forgot to do things themselves.

(There is a neat little loophole in which "rely upon" can also be emotional dependence or connection. People who hate/love/fear him in any strong capacity can have their aura drained in close proximity).

The counter to this ability is to just...not engage with him. Do not give him anything to do, ignore him, be indifferent. The aura transfer can even be reversed: by doing favors/tasks for him they can reclaim and in some cases get more aura back from him depending on the amount he already recieved from other people. Him being emotionally reliant on someone else also nullifies the transfer-eg. If he is genuinely friends with someone, he gives back aura/memories at the same rate he takes them, though this varies based on his own emotional state.

Timeline q

What is the timeline between these two events in 410 vs 417? Because the dialogue is very similar, I cant tell if one occurs before the other or if it is theame event from a different perspective.

u/Local-Sugar6556 — 2 months ago

Questions i have abt chapter 417

  1. Does tubeppa not believe kurapika, or does she believe his theory but considers it a moot point? She says that even if the monarchy is to fall, bjemain could take over, and the only way "the scenario remains convincing" is if he and camilla die. Because If she is still resolved to win her guardian spirit beast may be the only hope for the virus to die, but at the same time she would not want to save her other siblings if she does believe kurapika.

  2. Does kurapika still have Zhang lei coin? Because we see it manipulate Benjamin guard (coventoba?) and kurapika himself suspects it has that ability so shouldn't he throw it away to avoid the possibility of being manipulated?

  3. Is tsrreidnich parallel future illusion encompassing the entire ship now, given that he was in zetsu for a very long time? Can characters not see him and he is free to move around as he wishes? Or is he hiding out in that coffin he ordered salkov to make and just waiting for the right chance to make his move?

  4. Would tsk17 kill tssreidnich given it encompasses a wide area and if the real one was in its vicinity or would he be safe? Because if he is moving and trailing benjamin there is a chance he gets caught in the blast range.

  5. Do the events take place during/before/after chapter 410? Because we see benjamin take action to secure zhang lei yet in 410 he is still ruminating about what zhang lei is up to.

Do any of you try to write your ideas down?

For me, it is impossible because for some reason when my thoughts are translated into words they never seem as exciting, my mind goes blank, and I give up after a few sentences. I tried writing fanfic based on it but always get discouraged because there is no plot per se just a random jumble of half formed ideas that I vaguely like (for example, some of my characters dont even have names because nothing i define can make themselves seem as "cool" as they do in my head).
