A simple "How many entries are between date X and date Y"

The formula I used was:

=COUNTIFS(C:C,">=1/1/1951",C:C,"<=31/12/1959")

It's the same one that I saw in tutorials but for some reason it doesnt work on my sheet.

NOTE: some rows in the date collumn are blank

>Avatar: Seven Havens is set in a world shattered by a devastating cataclysm.
