"You've been such a good guinea pig for me, always helping in my lab, feeding me when I need, and taking care of my daughter, you're the best trainer an Uma could ever have~"

I wonder how common it is to be against or neutral towards Snily as a Snape fan, especially the segment who think he deserved better in life.
Throughout the years I've encountered various opens to the topic of "does a power system make or break a story?" and I felt like starting a discussion about it, I should point out that you're entitled to your opinion and you're free to explain your thoughts on the matter in the comments.
This side of the isle argues that the power system is primarily a vehicle for combat and combat shouldn't be the only way a story goes forward, while yes battle shonen are about combat, they're also stories about their own characters and regardless if the power system is good or not, it changes very little about either the characters or interactions since a well-written story will naturally not be only about fighting even for a battle shonen.
This side of the isle argues that a power system in a shonen story is meant to fulfill a few roles integral to any story:
Essentially, one side argues that character development and worldbuilding isn't that much dependent on fighting and a story where that's the case is often a bad one and mishandles characters and worldbuilding regardless of the power system, whereas the other thinks a bad power system restricts the ability to coherently expand on the worldbuilding, characters and make fights that develop both.
Now, how do you judge and stand on these takes?
We all know Suguru's technique theme is his dependency on others and inability to grow by himself; let's change that a little and make him able to create a powerful Cursed Spirits out of many weaker ones or enhance already strong curses to mitigate their weaknesses. How would his scaling improve?
Personally, I think this Geto is a legitimate Special Grade, not so much dependent on his curses themselves being strong, but rather on being creative with how he uses a limited arsenal. Thus he's equal to Yuki (he wouldn't need RCT, he can heal using his curses)

Was scrolling through my gallery because I'm the type of person to screenshot my best moments online and reflect on how even the best of them are deeply cringe and remembred this meme, so I felt obligated to write an unoriginal rant about Shonen female characters.
Before you kill me let me explain things a bit, my main issue with how women in Shonen (and media in general) are written is that writers feel as if there's an obligation to make the female character, well... Female. This may not make sense because it might come off as me saying "The male cast aren't exactly male" but it's true, let me explain how it goes.
When you write a character you naturally put in mind a scope for what it fundamentally represents, the male cast more often than not especially the protagonists of the stories represent things that don't have anything to do with their gender, Sasuke is a genocide survivor and an avenger, Ichigo is a victim of survivors guilt and deeply protective of others, Luffy is about freedom and adventure.
Meanwhile more often than not you'll find that the female cast is supposed to be distinguished by being female, but the issue is not every topic or theme or storyline could be gendered, matter of fact the vast majority of them aren't, when someone writes a character as being "female" what they're doing is limit the scope of that character's development because they effectively restricted themselves in terms of how they can expand on the character.
Reality is if a writer wants to make good female characters, they don't write female characters, they just write human characters that we can connect to and empathise with or despise or feel conflicted about irrespective of their gender. There's always this common myth that women are naturally nurturing, but the reality is nurturing is a skill that doesn't have anything to do with gender to begin with, the concept of nurturing itself is gender neutral because both the Mother and Father are involved in it, one each in their own ways, yet somehow we ascribe this trait to one gender because it's as if they need to be distinguished to begin with.
Women are human beings, and human beings are messy creatures, no man is naturally strong or aggressive, and we don't have the expectation of them to be, men can be smart, cunning, evil, sadistic, cooperative and it all makes sense because we know men are people, unfortunately many have subconsciously being conditioned to believe that women have specific traits that are natural to them when that's not the case.
Writing a bad female cast more often than not is a lot like assuming things of other people, and you know what they say about assumptions about others, they make an ass of you and me.
So, I installed NixOS as my first Distro, surprisingly everything with NixOS itself and Nix Package Manager is smooth sailing, mu issue is that KDE doesn't want to let me do things at times, I keep running through cycles just changing my Terminal from Kate to Kitty and trying to use Neovim. Actually managing my configurations is surprisingly the fun part I boot my machine to do.
I'm honestly stressed out by it and I'm wondering what should I do? I love NixOS and it's genuinely been the best part of my switch to Linux, KDE is what causing me headaches.
I should point out btw that I don't want to use KDE, I'm planning on moving out to Quickshell once I get a good working setup.
I can't help but hate and I mean ABSOLUTELY HATE Shonen fans who complain all day about how the Mangaka of a story neglected side characters but all it comes down to is that he didn't let them hype and aura farm, and if there's actually any serious effort to write these characters well it's considered unnecessary fluff and canon filler.
The most egregious example in recent memory is Hana Kurusu from Jujutsu Kaisen, people were constantly complaining about how Gege neglected side characters in the Culling Games, yet when Hana showed up with a backstory that she was saved from a monstrous Cursed Spirit that had he hostage. But surprise surprise because she as expectedly fumbled against Sukuna (she was literally a sorceress for barely over a month by that point) and because she obsessed over the guy who literally saved her life she was slandered to hell and back. Even side characters who are supposedly well beloved are not popular for anything besides fighting like Higuruma, Reggie Star, Kashimo, Ishigori and Uro. The population of the fandom of Jujutsu Kaisen wouldn't complain about Kenjaku's characterisation if he wasn't killed by a sneak attack from Yuta.
Let's talk about Naruto for a bit, there were two entire arcs specifically dedicated to narratives about side characters, Chunin Exams and The InoShikaCho segment of the Akatsuki Suppression Arc. The only topic of relevance outside of powerscaling and fights that came out of the Chunin Exams was the Hyuga enslaving at least half of their own clansmen and women, and that was not at all a relevant concern because did people want Naruto to learn Sealing Jutsu and study it to reverse engineer and dismantle the Caged Bird Seal? If it doesn't happen within a short flashback nobody will care. With Regards to InoShikaCho, the biggest criticism of the arc was that Ino and Chouji were considered fodder, notice they shared Shikamaru grief but of course because they didn't bomb the villains they don't get acknowledged that much.
And I haven't mentioned the way people who keep pretending characters like Doflamingo are one-note stereotypes as if he in particular didn't have emotional arc and depths to him around how he's a symbolism of a flying beautiful bird scarred by his forced downfall and hell-bent on going back to the skies just because of pure addiction to slander and agenda that portrays him as a boring bland villain, I haven't mentioned how a ton of Shonen fans don't care about Uro being a slave and killed by Yuta's ancestor (personal opinion but it's a dick move of him to not attempt to amend ties for that, it's still his ancestor).
All of this is just scratching the surface of what I'm speaking of, I really don't like when some people around here act as if they care about about side characters but all they want is them throwing nukes and slashing with nukes.
I'm wondering what you guys think of this topic because I genuinely believe the Empress is a different person from the Emperor, Men and Women approach problem solving very differently so throughout the Empress life even if we assume similar events occur, she wouldn't act the same as the Emperor did.
Also because I love fanfiction and I won't mind if it explores only a part of her life as the Empress or life in general. Even stuff like slice of life with her daughters and their SOs would be cool.
Remember fellas, unlike Slaanesh, the Empress actually lets you hit without causing you irrecoverable physiological and mental damage if you're a real good boy~ (DESTROY THE IMPERIUM ENEMIES REAL GOOD!)
So... I've watched a bit of videos explaining the game since it came out, and since I switched to Linux I would probably play the game in one run once it completes or just play it when I get money because I like the story. My ideas around the story are a bit scattered but I love critically examining things so I want to make a bit of analysis breakdown with the game as that's something I enjoy doing in any interesting story.
My first thought is: What's the Fandom Consensus on Renee? because my opinions about her will certainly be controversial (she's hot but I will be objective)
Hello everyone! Recently switched to NixOS, and I would like to try some interesting Open Source Games with Passion in them. What I mean by that is that the games are not your average FPS game or Strategy game, they differentiate themselves with their own creative input into the genre which makes them unique.
Reginauð (Rayenoth in English) is an island nation in what is described as "The West Pole archipelago", an Island archipelago located in the cold Western high altitude continent (inspired by Tibet).
Rayenoth is located in the lowest altitude part of the continent, meaning they have access to immense agricultural riches and farm animals.
Rayinoithic society is a religious monotheistic tribal matriarchal endogamous communitarian society focused around trade, agriculture, family entrepreneurship, seafaring and woodcrafts (inspired by Arabia, Japan and Scythians).
They practice an economic system centred around family enterprise, communalism, and limited taxation, women by default hold the family name and thus its wealth, however women are obligated to spend their money for the sake of their men whereas the opposite isn't true as men keep their money.
Their architecture is made purely out of wood, utilising unique techniques to make their home Island withstand the shocks of frequent earthquakes and adapt to tsunamis (similar to Japanese architecture).
Their people have conditioned themselves to withstand the depth of sea far beyond regular human capabilities (inspired by Bajau people) and their national dress is what can be described as swimsuits with long fur skirts that double as jackets for cold weather.
Rayenoth is a peaceful nation that doesn't have much in the way of military strength because the unforgiving environment and geography makes foreign conquest unworth the attempt.
How about you? What's your world's interesting nations? Would you read my story if this is the type of nation in my setting?
Saw few posts talking about female characters with support powers and then it snowballed into a friend of mine and I discussing how different power systems could approach different types of support based powers because we're both worldbuilding nerds, and what I realised from that discussion is that the real issue is still the female characters being female characters and if the average Shonen story bothered to expand on what these support capabilities can do they will be a lot better off.
Let's take a random power to make this example, Healing. Now take your favourite or a random popular Shonen power system and create a character with that ability, I will go with Jujutsu Kaisen's Cursed Energy power system. Now because it's Jujutsu Kaisen it can't be called "Healing Cursed Technique" it should be more like "Life Giving Brilliant Radiance".
Now picture this: This technique at its core can enhance body biological functions, it also has Reverse Cursed Technique to siphon life force, Maximum Technique for AOE healing and enhancements and whatever kind of simple yet useful Domain Expansion depending on the character themselves. You don't like my example? go ahead and do it with any support ability in any power system, most likely you can find great use for it.
What am I trying to prove here? Basically, you don't need an offensive flashy power to make a female character interesting in battle, support powers can be great and useful if you actually are willing to make a female character who uses them well, just because it's a support ability doesn't mean it's not useful in battle.

Hello everyone! I had an idea for a magic system of my own that I tried to create because I'm trying to improve my writing skills by trying to write things out of my field. Magic isn't my thing as I lean towards more scientific concepts so if you're more into Magic I would like to hear your opinion on the Magic system I've created and rate it according to how you like it or whatever criteria you like.
Magic isn't the ability to create or destroy by standalone processes, it's the ability to bypass the lower levels of creation and destruction process. Magic in this light acts as an intermediary force pulling the forces of creation together or disrupting them to cause destruction. Fireballs might seem like a simple spell to cast, but it requires immense knowledge of the forces of the universe through the process of Alchemy to create one.
Alchemy is the science used to understand and manipulate the forces of creation and destruction, Advanced Alchemy can allow people to seemingly create fireballs effortlessly through the efficient utilisation of multiple forces. This science exists to democratise magic because it allows people not powerful enough to cast powerful spells to do so through learned skill instead of raw power. Wizards who don't have the legendary Mana reserves of someone like Merlin would be educated by him to learn how to cast his powerful spells without requiring as much power.
Laws in this context refers to the fact that the legal system only allows licensed wizards to use it legally because they abide by laws that ensure Magic can't be used for harm. For example summoning a tree would result in taking out one from somewhere in the world which on a larger scale would be environmentally catastrophic, similarly summoning Gold or Silver comes by nature from someone else's pocket hence it's heavily discouraged.
Your favourite Uma who receives vicious lies as slander, show how you defend them. For me it's Agnes Tachyon, I don't care what anyone thinks, he's a GOATED father with 100% win rate.
"But he failed to-" 100% Win Rate.
"He couldn't have achieved" He would've easily done so.
"Potential Hors-" Was outside of his control, you know damn well he would keep his legendary streak if not for the accident he suffered.
"Literally no aur-" Look at you slandering an Uma while playing a game made to support them, be ashamed of yourself.
Kevin and Jamie look alike (yes I know art style influence probably BUT) I always felt they were brothers, hinting at a future Kevin redemption arc.
At the car wash when Kevin arrived and Steven and Connie were there Jamie delivers mail to the Universe family, Kevin gives Jamie his lunch he forgot, and Steven and Connie notice how Kevin and Jamie are nice to each other. Jamie then is like "oh yeah he's my older brother", which down the line leads to showing Kevin's protectiveness of Jamie and Kevin to treat the kids kindly and apologising to Steven and Connie.
After Kevin left Jamie explains Kevin’s reputation fell after the “Incident” with Stevonnie and Jamie feels bad that he thinks it's nice that ultimately it strengthened their sibling bond as Kevin now has no one else. That then leads to the party when Steven feels like helping Kevin and one thing leads to another and people understand that Kevin was innocent of the "allegations"
