What helped you to let go, if you struggled to do so.

If you struggled with letting go for whatever reason, what are some nuggets of wisdom you can impart to those of us who struggle to do so?

Trying to find out why my nails stopped growing.

Duration: 6 months, Fingernails on both hands, but most stunted growth is on right hand. In the last 3 months, my nails have been growing back but still at a slower rate than before. No symptoms. No treatments. Background: I am recovering Kratom addict and I cant help but feel that this issue with my nails has a connection as it has never happened before I quit taking kratom: A little bacground on Kratom: kratom is a substance that is used by people to relieve pain, improve mood and concentration and help with motivation: Kratom comes from a plant in southeast asia and it has been marketed in powder form, liquid, shot and vape. Kratom is one of the most destructive substances that is currently still legal in the U.S. It is THE MOST addictive thing I have ever taken and I am a recovering alcoholic, nicotine user and somebody who has a very addictive personality. When a person quits Kratom, there can be some physical side effects that go with the withdrawal but most of it is psychological. It threw me into the worse Depressive episode I have ever experienced. There really is no way to tell what kratom does to our bodies, but I often felt id damaged my neurotransmitters, especially dopamine, caused strange hot flashed which I believe were hormonal and then the thing with my finger nails. Basically, My nails stopped growing on my hands and s someone who is a guitarist this was a big deal. I could never figure what the correlation between my kratom withdrawals and the cessation of nail growth was and still is. I had my vitamin d checked and it was normal. All of my other bloodwork came back normal as well. I may have lower testosterone as a result of kratom addiction and plan on getting tested but from what I have researched low T doesnt affect nail growth. Basically for about 3 or 4 months my nails just did not grow at all! finally starting about 3 months ago, they started to grow back and not be as brittle. They are almost completely back to normal except my right thumb nail which still has stunting issues. Can anyone explain what might have cause this? Thanks!

Still have anhedonia at 5 months.

I have had ECT, TMS, and ketamine IV infusion in the last 13 months since I quit taking kratom in earnest. Unfortunatley I had a relapse back in march but have been clean since april 18th. While I am worlds better than I was even 2 months ago, I am still having that nagging anhedonia. It is not as pronounced but I realize there are some days where the dopamine really seems to be going strong but for the most part I still feel flat. I have been completely sober for 16 days. I am sure drinking and doing coke in the last several months has not helped anything I am sure there was a loop of getting fucked up getting sober and getting fucked up again. I often wonder if I was addicted to the feeling of getting better from quitting drinking over and over. Was anyone else still dealing with Anhedonia at 5 mos?

I cannot remember to be mindful.

One thing I struggle with alot is REMEMBERING to do things like be mindful, let go of thoughts, label thoughts, etc. This has always been a struggle for me. Is this a common theme amongst some people? I do have Pure O CD and ADHD as well as depression and anxiety and cant help but wonder if organically my brain has deficits that might keep me from utilizing these skills to the fullest. If there is any advice or suggestions I would appreciate it. Thanks!!

Thoughts on A.I.

I am new to the concept of nonduality and self inquiry. It has resonated with me more than any other philosophical or spiritual concept. Now, with the true threat of A.I. destroying humanity how does this effect our belief systems if at all???

erratic results with an eventual stable and beneficial outcome?

Did anyone feel results during their TMS treatments and then feel nothing past 2 months and then have it feel like it was working again?

How to recapture the magic of creating.

Long Story Short. I first experienced Anhedonia about 3 years after quitting kratom ( a highly addictive substance that wreaks havoc on dopamine receptors much like opioids, but from what I hear much worse). It has been 4.5 months since I last quit kratom and am thoroughly convinced that the anhedonia is still very much an issue. I have quit kratom about 3 times in the past 5 years and if I can recall my brain really doesn't get back to baseline til the 6th or 9th month. One of the things that tears me apart is my inability to compose music. The motivation, drive, spark, inspiration is deader than dead. I hope to god this is not permanent but only time will tell.

I was watching a youtube video on anhedonia that was pretty informative that suggests that we continue to do the think that brought us joy be it, creating, exercising, gardening, reading etc. and that this trains my brain to eventually repave the the reward pathway. Does this science sound legit? I believe I have read this in other articles but I would love to hear first hand from anyone who found this worked for them. Thanks.

George harrison riff writing process.

I am curious how george came up with his amazing lead and other riffs. Did he just improvise something while the others were jamming? Would he noodle around until he found something he like?

Trying to utilize varispeed on my tape four track recorder to make my voice sound high in pitch.

I am a huge fan of ween and I am triyng to figure out how to keep all the other instruments in one pitch, but record a vocal in the same key but at a higher pitch. I heard I can do this with varispeed but I dont know how.

Interested in starting a self inquiry google meets room.

I dont see any online self inquiry groups and I thought it might be cool to start one. I think google meets gives an hour and we could give everyone a few minutes to discuss where they are in their journey waht questions, maybe try to get someone into the group who is experienced to share their thoughts. Depending on how many people show enthusiasm on this thread I would get one srarted.

Where are all my TMS late bloomers?

Im at almost the 8 week mark since I had my last treatment and things are okay, but I felt there was a lot more improvement, even though it was subtle around the last 10 treatments. Interested in hearing your experience if you didn't feel benefit for months afterwards.

Pure O is a curse. I am trying to live with it.

The constant swirl of rumination, anger, depression, fear is so palpable and really truly interferes with life. It cannot be escaped. Even using the various methods that I have learned, these only work sometimes as I often forget to use them or am just so caught up as to not have the bandwidth. It truly sucks. To anyone else in this boat, you are not alone,

How to let go....truly.

I am curious of how you were able to genuinely let go of all the things in your life, the materialistic, the desires, the thoughts, the emotions etc... It is a skill I truly want to learn.
